0:53 Whenever I hum along to the bass melody of the original, I always hum this instead of the original bass melody because it's just so brilliant. This whole arrangement is fantastic
This was always one of my favorite songs in any NES game. The drumroll at the start and the DPCM drums along with it's quick pace always make it feel very hectic. If there was one thing I don't like about this remix is how I feel like it does have that smooth flow the original had, and it lacks the specific punch the original had. But this, this is very impressive!
@@Sinistar1983 I mean, it's just a remake. I haven't played it but I'll be one 9f the first to admit that Gimmick on NES had a handful of cheap shots and potential deaths most newcomers will get because they can't possibly see it coming, and there are some near impossible rooms.
I'm not OP, but I think Exact Mix is flawed from a conceptualization standpoint. For one, Gimmick! is a niche game, remaking it from the ground up and making it an Arcade exclusive isn't exactly going to sell like hot cakes - re-releasing it as-is for a budget price on the major digital stores would've been enough. Then there's the usual remake problems: not really capturing certain nuances of the source material (ex: soundtrack doesn't really hit the same way as the og), making pointless changes (ex: the final boss being changed to a dominatrix-esque anime woman), lack of polish in certain areas (the redone intro is beautifully animated, but the ending feels like a Powerpoint presentation)... I could write a whole essay nitpicking about Exact Mix.
i had a dream where rrthiel composed the striped sweater song from spongebob

Just like chocolate, the music just melts in your ears.

With the right remixing and/or remaking, any original version of NES 8-bit music could end up being inferior in comparison.
Excellent job!

what’s wrong with exact mix?
My thoughts exactly, what is wrong with it. Is it poorly designed

I'm curious to ask what you mean by That?
It's an arcade remake of it that was Japan exclusive
@@randomguyontheinternet7940 oh, really? I uh, I wasnt aware that it was japan exclusive.
what's bad about exact mix? controls (ie additional lag in port)? new graphics and music? something else?

TLDR; exact mix kinda mid + the fact it's arcade-exclusive just added to salt to injury to the fans who wanted to support the devs by buying the game
