Hi I'm a builder from Sydney Australia. I've been watching your work from the start. Never commented, till now. It has been an amazing experience watching your work. Every night I watch from the comfort of my bed. Prior to going to sleep. I look forward to each episode. It's just amazing where you were and where you are now. You have more and more experience as the works move faward. I have 2 say. When I watched your 1st few episodes. I was a sceptic. NO WAY HE WILL FINISH THIS. He's crazy. You mush have made a fool out of alot of tradesman. I am amazed with your work and look forward to the end. KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK. and the recordings. I specialise in building renovation works. Here in Australia 🇦🇺. . And I have done some big jobs. BUT YOU TAKE THE CAKE. I WOULD LOVE TO BE WORKING ON THIS ONE WITH YOU. THEN I COULD SAY IT WOULD BE THE BIGEST JOB IVE WORKED ON. ALL THE BEST MATE.
Though I don't watch your video often but I still watch it once and a while just to update the progress of your château... Can't wait to see the fruit of your labor .
The whole world is in chaos! Governments ,financial crisis, wars, you name! And it brings me joy and peace that I can follow along and watch you guys bring back the past. A part of history long gone! But not for long! Thank you!!
Axminister Tools Thank you!! for donating the tools Dan and his crew are using. It makes this building go a lot faster and safer. Great weather today to working on the roof. Stay safe guys. And no Bungy jumping off the roof!
I buy from Axminster Tools all the way from New Zealand .. great company to deal with ! Fab project - always hanging out for your next video. Inspirational >
Can someone please clarify for me which of the tools that Dan and crew are using are Axminster? I don’t recall seeing or hearing about an Axminster tool since the year end episodes where they delivered and set up a shop in the basement. Do to a lack of a three phase power connection to the chateau (or any electrical service to the chateau whatsoever), have any of the Axminster tools ever been used? What I have seen is Dan and crew using Festool chop saws and Festool track saws. I’ve also seen the Mafell NFU 50 groove cutter and mortising chain saw being used extensively. And why does Dan wear a Festool cap. Festool is an arch rival of Axminster. Are those commenters today thanking Axminster for its generosity certain that the Axminster tools are still in the basement? Or have they been repossessed? Is Dan passively-aggressively wearing the Festool cap as a statement to Axminster? Dan will never address this issue directly with a spoken explanation, but his actions are sending a strong anti-Axminster message.
@user-xt7wb6rl5r Good point. I have yet to see Dan respond to any comments on his videos. I know there are far too many comments to answer, otherwise he'd never get any work done. But I'm sure people would welcome the occasional reply, especially as he's such a personable chap. I very much enjoy his videos of the remarkable progress he's making. I'm looking forward to the next stage of the project.
Your question sent me on a hunt, Axminster is the supplier of the festool power tools. They also sell Makita and bosch, probably other brands as well. Apparently they ship to most of the world for a price.
As are we all ...awaking to this peace and beautiful serenity..from the chaos we have been living in ...unaware of the decay tht we were being engulfed in!! The Chateau is a g8 anolagy for Humanity , left standing We shall become resplendid as has she It helps to have DAN'S can do attitude!
You have come a long way from riding on a lawn mower at LaLande. You just reached down inside and pulled out a dream, talent, friendships and accomplishments that are inspiring and spread happiness to so many. I feel happiness watching your journey.
Sim, se mais gente procurasse jornadas simples ou mais complexas que contribuisse para humanidade com certeza teriam menos tempo para guerras que só traz fome, morte e miséria 😢
When you first bought this place and said you would be renovating it, I thought you were foolish. I now stand corrected and apologize for that thought. You have worked your butt off and made this amazing transformation happen. It is certainly something to be proud of. Congratulations to you and your team! I can't wait to see the finished project.
We Love Nick! Not only is he competent, but he’s meticulous. As I’ve said, once before, Nick makes a great Mad Max character. All coming along brilliantly…
Untreated rusty I-beams isn't meticulous, it's strong and savvy but not even cleaning and sealing the surface finish is imho a tad disappointing. Re-bar is a different case and generally not rusty since so much of it is in demand. Reinforcement bar doesn't lay around stock shelves rusting away for long and then it's soaked in concrete, as long as moisture doesn't somehow seep down the rebar and provoke continued oxidisation, it's good.
I got addicted to watching chateau renovation channels, but this one is very unique and different. I believe in Dan, like if he is all mighty. He never talks about money ( how much did he buy it, how does he geta money for materials and workers, etc) He just gives the best scenery videos, the best progress.
I know the channel you speak of. Its very annoying when they reveal the exuberant cost because it boost their egos not because they are disclosing the costs of renovations just because. I hope that makes sense. Sometimes expensive or name brand doesnt mean anything when the item is hideous or outlandish. But anyways “ Lets Crack On” 😜
Good job!! The big difference between sealing the roof today and sealing the other roof last year was that you didn't have a raging winter storm this year to hinder your efforts.
I'm afraid of heights, and watching you gentlemen balancing on the edge makes my knees weak. But i can't stop watching, as it's fascinating. I can hardly wait to see the finished project.
