Welcome to FashionCOM, where I’ll just give my totally unqualified opinion on the styles of the future! I’ll take a look at every VIP, scientist, engineer, and at every soldier whose bio is being read in this episode. Let’s go! Charlie Noodles: Oh boy, a strong statement. The head says “Love me tender” while the body says “extra in every 70s sci-fi show”, with a bit of mint candy thrown in. It’s a fashion statement for sure, but not one I’d necessarily subscribe to. Dr. Benjamin Sterling: Bringing some old world class to the futuristic labs of the Avenger, Benjamin rocks a pipe, a hat and a coat. Some things truly are timeless. Blanka “Duchess” Meszaros: Red and black is a classic color combination, but this here is no mere Advent goon! A simple style kept mostly in subdued colors, I feel like the crimson top doesn’t quite catch the eye. Some more patches of color would do wonders to liven up this soldier’s appearance. Esmeralda “Camazotz” Reye: this outfit is dominated by a nice mix of bright greens and duller grays, which give the clothes a nice rhythm and tie the top together beautifully. Not sure about that left leg, though! Samuel “Teach” Bozemin: A hard man for a hard world, this soldier keeps his gear in a nearly uniform mix of grays that is even picked up by the headband. While this might not be the most exciting combination, when combined with his rather bulky gear it gives him the look of a sturdy, dependable professional. Yemi “Momo” Adebayo: going for a simpler look closer to the average XCOM soldier, I really like that Yemi incorporates the colors of Nigeria’s flag into his outfit! Rommel “Rogue” Salamantas: That shirt, it’s just not for me. Everything below the belt says “military”, everything above the belt says “beach party”, and that just makes for a strange combination. Amy “Collux” Penton: This armor takes most of its cues from the brutal, rough look of the Skirmishers, which is little wonder considering who is beneath the armored plates. The usual Skirmisher look of black and white is switched for gray and khaki for a softer palette, while the round helmet makes a nice contrast piece to the angular plates below. The half-open helmet design should have stayed with Advent, though. Agahta “White Wolf” Martini: Leather jacket and jeans are another old world classic, and for good reason! Bringing a rather casual style to the battlefields of Earth, this outfit isn’t flashy, but not everything has to be. Craig “Quallah” Nelson: Fierce! The black armor blocks harmonize nicely with the gray layer beneath while dark orange trims make sure that the armor doesn’t get too monotonous. Just point that edge towards the enemy, Craig! Ines “Hija de la Oscuridad” Contreras: If you’re here for battlefield extravagance, this lady brings it all. Though for me, the rather top heavy mask and the rather simple military-style fatigues don’t quite go together. Dr. Doom appreciates, though! Joe “Puddin’ Pop” Bloggs: The rather traditional armor design is livened up by blue-white camo, which, combined with a black-white hat and pouches serves to bring a new interpretation to a classic style. John “Old Man” Smith: Grays, whites and beige dominate the top, which goes nicely together for a softer look quite fitting for a soldiers whose callsign is “Old Man” but I feel that the rather simple pants make the outfit unbalanced, with all the visual mass concentrated above the belt. Kate “Toaster” Elliott: Another simple one, Kate comes to the battlefield dressed (and painted!) for war! The greens and grays of the uniform coupled with the blue warpaint and the red hair give this soldier the vibe of an ancient Gaelic warrior, while the goggles anchor her firmly in the world of today (if the huge gun wasn’t an indication). Lady “Mismatch” Luck: Some nice combat corsetry with interesting pink-black accents in the camo, this outfit doesn’t over-complicate things while still retaining that individual touch. Ryan “Charm” Smith: Clad only in shorts, boots and and warpaint, this one looks like a wrestler who took the wrong exit once and just rolled with it. Can’t say that it’s my favorite look, but there’s something to say for being bold. Victor “The Doctor” Lorentzon: the good doctor comes dressed to kill, literally! While I initially took his outfit for a classy combo of dress pants and shirt, it’s really more a mix of 80s street gang and hitman. Warriors, come out to play!
Though Season 9 shares the previous season's character pool, it is refreshing to see many new faces on the starting roster. New writers and roleplayers are always welcome, and we'll be compiling logs at: docs.google.com/document/d/1XUtHr8IF7xUgTWso1QSkTzgRuHk2Hd2C2moWgtVTeA4/edit , which also has the link to our discord.
6:25 I read basically all the mods' information pages and saw the changes (for season 8) regarding rulers, (without giving spoilers regarding certain other changes) there were changes made to their reactions specifically; namely that they only react to offensive actions AND taking damage regardless of seeing (even squadsight) the shooter, so moving and reloading do not trigger their reactions. IMO this is way more balanced, fun, intuitive, etc and makes for more tactical play (the description of the mod gives a more detailed description and reasoning), but if this was not tweaked out/removed you can probably expect the rulers to behave similarly to your previous encounter.
I would love to see a return to Phoenix Point. The mod Terror From the Void (TFTV) makes the game totally different, like long war, and improves the pacing of the game. 1.0 just got released earlier this year and I highly recommend it!
19:05 The best thing about Templars strategically is an order that doubles XCOM AP gains. With Chosen worth 10 and being a frequent guest, 2 per each Exalt (6 per captured ones), and 6 AP every mission for flanking shots, ambush shots and high ground shots, I had so many AP with that order in my campaign, I could afford a lot of extra perks on most of my soldiers.
Great start, I approve. The sleight buff to grenades and weapons was needed, watching DerAva's playthrough with your mod list was frustrating. Also his 'Not Created Equal' mod and install has somehow made all soldiers start with 60 or 61 aim. Watch out for the Requiem mod producing a lot of variant enemies and few vanilla Advent and aliens, stalling your weapons availability from Lily. As for photos, I suggest the MVP every time. Also the 'Runner Up', as you were surprised by the mod's choice, you would get an input. Good luck Commander, 'Break a leg'.
Firaxis, if you are reading this. I don't need xcom3. xcom2 got the perfect formula, that's why we will play it forever. Just remaster it in UE5 with even better mod support. Chris and the production team, you guys outdone yourselves! You added almost all tweaks I felt were needed. Good luck, Commander!

What a timing! I was running late on the previous season and I have just finished watching its last episode. And what do I see? The start of the next one. Well, that's got to be the shortest grief period (for the loss of my favourite series) of all time! Go get them Commander! Time for payback!
New season, let's go! Those are valid questions you ask about the hero classes; I think that play style matters the most, but I do prefer to see a Skirmisher on Gatecrasher to any other hero class, both because of the attack utility and the early scan-to-build location on the strategy map.
Covert Infiltration Report #01 - Covert Overseer, Aren Locke Covert operations are officially up and running. What a great timing I just finished watching season 8 early morning, and I woke up on this. I can already feel that this is going to be a steam roll. Best of luck Commander Odd, I'm sure you don't need it. I can't wait to watch Odd's Man class in action, it would've been perfect on someone wearing the shirt though XD

Super hypped by this new start, already things look pretty awesome and super interesting. Love the new bits being added that are already showing up, can't wait to see it all in action. Super thanks to everyone who contributed to this series being realized, specially to the production team putting out their excellent work!!! 😁
Its unreal how much the modding community has uplifted the game. I did beat the game on L/I when it was released but now I wouldn´t even know how to choose the right squad :) The replayeability is crazy
I'm not surprised season 8 hit a dead end. The new classes are very interesting, but figuring out how to use them on a first blind playthrough seemed like a tall order, before all that other stuff happened.
ADVENT Sentinel Z.Caron Senior Grade, Investigations Division 0500 Hrs, ADVENT Special Detainment Facility Delta-101 Begin Recording Caron: I’m on site. The entire security element is dead and the prisoners are gone. … I believe XCOM’s the perpetrator. … An aircraft bearing the same configuration and markings as the one used during the Unification Day attacks was spotted in the area. If I’m right, it should be noted that XCOM was far more efficient than they were previously. … This attack was well planned and well executed. Communications were jammed so reinforcements couldn’t be called, XCOM maintained effective rear security so could take them by surprise and, most importantly, they took no losses. A far cry from their previous operations. Furthermore, there was a Skirmisher operative present. … I’ll check the security cameras and sweep the site for anything that could be used to identify the operatives but I make no promises. (Pre-Gatecrasher) 28 February 2035 20:37 Eastern Africa Time (GMT +3) The humans are up to something, but I’m not going to risk another ‘misunderstanding’ with Volk’s crew trying to find out. The Reapers are too paranoid for the Skirmishers to approach; they would rather shoot first and ask questions later. I don’t blame them. Still, it’s a little strange that they’re sending Dragunova to the big city, alone. They normally prefer roaming the wilds, or even slinking around Lost-infested ruins. Cities are *our* domain, and we have eyes and ears in every district. Even if they distrust us, the smaller Resistance cells here operate with the knowledge that they do so because we let them. What they don’t usually know is that we’re also watching over them…sometimes. I don’t want them to expect our assistance or protection, not when I can barely keep my people fed and supplied. If she stays out of our business, Dragunova can do what she needs to do. Mox is in the area, I’ll ask him to keep an eye on her from a respectful distance. Betos, logging off.
Great that Old Man is back. One of my favorite soldiers last season. I wonder if you removed the Elevated Aggression dark event this season, since that really was one of the reasons you lost last season.

Repeat MVPs should get a fully custom designed photo, but only one. After that they just keep their photo.
Woohoo! Nice to "see" you again commander. 🥳
Holy!
Am I ever excited for this!
Best of Luck Commander!!
Am I the only one who's good on 45 mins of bios? One at a time as we go. Love it. It's just a lot. 🤷♂️
Wuhuuu. I have been waiting for this. And in the waiting time started my own game up again, with your modlist.
For repeat MVPs, keep the photo unless they got a gear upgrade since the last one
Keep up the good work and thanks for getting me onto xcom all those years ago.
I am currently getting inspiration for my own future Xcom campaign. This has been a blast, thank you.
Finally bro I been waiting so long! Welcome back bro
Need to recruit that Canadian. Weird to have a roster without a Canadian.
🙏🙏🙏prayers for this cohort and hope they make it to final mission!
I rush labs as well it's very underrated and makes the run very smooth. You get fewer soldiers at the beginning, but being able to get magnetic weapons earlier helps a lot
Danke!
I made a Cameo in the infirmary! All White, te commander thought it was old Man Smith, but it was really me
Me who is finishing up the Xcom 1 playthrough who just thought a season started...
Suspicious eye
Guess something bad happened to look forward to LMFAO
WE! ARE! SO! BACK! Time for REVENGE!!!!!!! GIve 'em hell Odd!
Edit: Also, shoutout to the mod team. You guys are amazing! Keep up the incredible work.
Can't wait for this series 🙌
Welcome back, Commander
Finally, I felt robbed of a whole season when you lost the last one :)
I miss Faith, Toxic and Rapunzel. But im already liking The Doctor, Toaster and The Darkness Daughter.
Faith 😭😭😭
these videos sure have come a long way, Nice work Odd.
MVPs get a new Pic every time, mission photos on flawless only. Memorial pics for any fallen soldiers. Custom initial bond Pic, with special memorial shot if bondmate dies.
The new classes are very interesting, but figuring out how to use them on a first blind playthrough seemed like a tall order, before all that other stuff happened.
i like to pretend we live in an alternate universe where Firaxis decided to made XCOM3 instead of marvel midnight suns and it is such a better place
Welcome back, Commander.
This is going to be so awesome!
We are so back!
*Sees my character Camazotz is in as one of the OGs*
OH WE ARE SO BACK!!
Welcome back Commander! Dont forget covert ops gives bonding too, send compatible pairs. Good luck, Mr Odd. And hope all goes well with the surgery.

Caron: I’m on site. The entire security element is dead and the prisoners are gone.
…
I believe XCOM’s the perpetrator.
…
An aircraft bearing the same configuration and markings as the one used during the Unification Day attacks was spotted in the area. If I’m right, it should be noted that XCOM was far more efficient than they were previously.
…
This attack was well planned and well executed. Communications were jammed so reinforcements couldn’t be called, XCOM maintained effective rear security so could take them by surprise and, most importantly, they took no losses. A far cry from their previous operations. Furthermore, there was a Skirmisher operative present.
…
I’ll check the security cameras and sweep the site for anything that could be used to identify the operatives but I make no promises.

Good hunting Commander. This season you get to be the doom spiral.

The humans are up to something, but I’m not going to risk another ‘misunderstanding’ with Volk’s crew trying to find out.
Really looking forward to this
Let’s go, Commander! So stoked!!
Great that Old Man is back. One of my favorite soldiers last season. I wonder if you removed the Elevated Aggression dark event this season, since that really was one of the reasons you lost last season.
I love how you can play this game a lot and it never really gets old. Welcome back, commander.
Well, mods help. Base game does get old after a while.
1:13:15 camazotz skin is so good! nice work whoever submitted that
