    Looks like you're sprayer setup worked pretty well. You'll have to show the results of that mixture you put on the pasture there. Thanks for the ride along. Happy Easter.

      I'll definitely be doing a follow up video on the results. I have high hopes. These pastures are pretty clapped out. Probably time to no-till in a new stand!

    Nice setup. That should work very well.

    Looks good. Our 50 gallon sprayer has 20 ft booms, I don’t recall the number of nozzles, but seemed to do fine. Two issues we had were the blue cast iron pumps rusted badly regardless of preventative maintenance/cleaning and our pump drew liquid out of the top, so sometimes when the tank was low and sloshing around or we hit a hard bump, we would loose prime. Changed to a different material pump and modified the tank for bottom flow and all is good now - except capacity...

      I could see how moving up to a 110gal or bigger would be worth while. I'll give this a few years before looking into modifying it with a bigger tank and a valve with shut-offs for the three sections. Thanks for all the insight bud! I always appreciate your input. I'll likely end up buying a stainless pump when this one dies on me. Have a great day!

    Nice little setup. I am using the same roller pump but mine has 7 rollers on it I think. I used it to spray 15 GPA going 5 mph with 29 nozzles on 20" rows. I'm covering 45' each pass. So I'm sure your pump can cover a lot more, lol. Be safe.

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's good to know! This is a 6 roller unit, but I'm sure I could comfortably get away with 4 more nozzles and room left on the regulator. Have a great day Tim!

    Handy unit Chris. GPS in on my wish list as well. I always just shut the PTO off on y sprayer as well, I have the check valve filters in mine so it wont drip

      Thanks Brad! I've been looking at the Matrix 430 T Jet guidance system. For a guy like me, it would be perfect. A check valve filter would be a great. I'm gonna have to look into that!

    • @larsonvalleyfarm
      @larsonvalleyfarm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DennysCountryLife I will have to look at the Matrix. I was looking at the same system that Soybean Farmer has. $1000 to 1500 is plenty of money for small acreage guys like us!

    Looking good 😉 I bet you could add some more nozzle/boom width running that roller pump and still keep your psi and volume . With that being said I think I would have more trouble with seeing where my next pass would be, myself, but if you get that guidance system I think that would help tremendously 👏
    And it's pretty aggravating when you can't get help with your questions from someone that's in the business of selling products. Can't remember where your located, but here in the Midwest your local/county extension office is a good place to get information on chemical ,weed identification, even calibrating . Good buddy 👏👍🇺🇸

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I won't be extending the booms until I get a guidance system. I'm positive I'd screw up pretty bad if it was any bigger. Ha ha. The Co-op experience was pretty disappointing. I fully went in there expecting to give them money and leave with what I needed... No such luck! Lol. They couldn't even give me pricing on the spot. I'll probably give my extension a call. I'm sure I can get chemicals cheaper elsewhere, and maybe more effective ones. Take good care bud!!

  • @siralfalot
    @siralfalot 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Back in the day, when GPS was the stuff of James Bond, we used to walk the headlands first, placing white markers a boom length apart, and when trying to remain parallel to the previous tyre tracks, you also have the headland markers to aim for, it was cheap and effective!
    Nowadays on our farm it's all GPS and section control applied by specialist contractors, and the cost of such the machinery is out of the reach of most farmers

      The flag trick works pretty good. I thought about doing that for this video actually. As usual, time was of the essence. All my fields are too small for any commercial sprayers. It's rare that I farm anything over 10 acres in one field. A GOS is pretty much a must for me at this point. Plus it would be nice to know the actual size of a field I'm farming. Just an added bonus.

      The one I'm looking at is the Tee Jet Matrix 430. It has pretty good reviews and looks really simple to operate. Calculates acreage and has several different modes for curves, contours etc. When I get it, I'll definitely do a review!

    • @DennysCountryLife

      This one is PTO powered, so you'd need to change that to a 12v pump, and weld on a stinger to go into your receiver. There's probably better options out there.

    • @DennysCountryLife

      It went really well. I didn't notice a huge increase in yield, but the weed reduction alone was worth it. Money and time well spent. Sorry I didn't do a follow up video.

    Have you checked soil PH yet ? Lime helps a lot if soil PH is off.

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not, but I can tell you for certain that it needs a TON of it. We'll be putting lime down as soon as we can afford to. For now getting the weeds under control before they go to seed will be a big help. Thanks for watching Ryan!

      Use grazon or 24d for weeds. Works great. Would hurt to put a surfactant on either.

      @DennysCountryLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm running at 30psi. It's hard to tell exactly because the gage goes from 0-400, but I think 30 is pretty accurate. Thanks for watching!

    Hey, whats up? I was watching a video of you, on a Massey ferguson baller. Im having a problem with mine. Basicly my bales are not straight as they should. I think that is a problem with the left coord but i cant figure out whats wrong. Would you please Help me?

    • @DennysCountryLife
      @DennysCountryLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some of mine come out with a little bow to them. I replaced all me upper and lower hay dog springs, and that made a big difference. Also make sure that you're cleaning the chaf out of the hay dog springs. It'll pack in there and they won't work very good. Typically the left knotter (knife side of the chamber) sits a little closer to the edge of the bale, than the other side. I don't like that, but it would be a lot of work to change, so I just deal with it.
