@@pigskin94pvp82 Ok, hold up. That is absolutely part of it - that we had a great team. But do you actually believe any QB could have been plugged in there and we'd have won? We beat the juggernaut Cowboys int he NFCCG that year. Young went off. Young had a monster season in 1994-95. Don't ever think he wasn't a massive part of that championship (just like Rice, B Young and yes, Prime Time were, too). Steve was the leader.
It's like Deebo is going through the stages of grief with his ability. He's taken crazy punishment for years and, obviously, that's taken a toll. I don't love the social media bs, but I do think he deserves respect for everything he's given to the organization. He's been a warrior for years
That's actually a pretty good breakdown, sir. I'm not a fan of the social media stuff either, but it is what it is. Hardly a transgression only Deebo's pulled. I have a rookie card of his, autographed, and a jersey of his, and I'll never get rid of either. It's not their value that is important to me. It's how sentimental both are. Deebo will always be a great 49er. Period. Just because he has some wear and tear now and it's playing at his top level won't change that.
Always good insights from Steve. Love this guy, love not only what he did for us but how he's such a champion for the 49ers and continues to bring great insights and fandom to the game. Grade A human. We'll be back in 2025, that I am sure of.
It's always a little shocking when you hear some legitimate wisdom from someone talking about football in the media. It's not surprising at all that it's coming from Steve Young's mouth but it's just rare to hear sincere insight instead of click bait or w/e.
Campbell was garbage. Dude looked so slow at times I thought my TV was broken. Hopefully Dee can get back into it and start next season. And hopefully we can resign Dre. I love Dre Greenlaw.
Man Steve Young is one of the smartest players to ever play. And Deebo I don't blame the guy. He's an ego guy but he's good at what he does and he's had a rough season.
@@Richard-c7d I agree bro. What we need is a full offseason. To rest, recuperate, and recharge. This idea that "everybody's old" now that some pundits are running with is laughable. We still got guys in their prime. But we've been playing late into January and February for 3 straight years. Time to rest up, nail the draft, bring on a few key FAs, and run this back (hopefully with Yuk back). We still got a lot of talent on this team.
Props to Steve for finally showing some compassion for Campbell and wondering if he’s ok. I love that his first thought that it’s super weird. Something is off with that for sure. Never heard of anything like it. I don’t think all the punitive tough guy talk does anyone any good. Extreme example, but it’s like people thinking putting people in solitary confinement is somehow a way to rehab someone with behavioral issues.
hey, what's up guy's. Maybe it's not himself(Deebo). Maybe it's his number change. Just like Michael Jordon. When he changed his number to 45. he wasn't playing right. He wasn't feeling right. Then he changed his number back to 23. An boom the magic was back. He's not number 1 he's number 19......
Yeah sports superstition but true. I seen him in college and wore number 1, so I think that’s what he is trying to do show love to that. He will bounce back with a good rest. Down year

I doubt that I have ever disagreed with a single Steve Young take over 30 years. He knows leadership and holds himself accountable. I always thought he would make an impressive Chief Executive of a Corporation…or a country.
Young's so smart and insightful. He's like the opposite of hot take gasbags like Mike Florio. How he doesn't have one of the big chairs with one of the networks is completely baffling to me.
Not knowing actual situation. This is unusual and Patrick Willis handled it better. Mr. Young a few people leave work or stop working for lessor reasons. To the average person somebody not wanting to play a brutal sport anymore is not strange.
Yuk was a very, very good route runner. This injury is a real bummer, gotta hope he can come back strong from it. Certainly more likely nowadays than two decades ago. I wouldn't give up on Pearsall yet. Dude has speed. You saw that 60-yard TD against Tampa Bay. It's a tough year, so many injuries, deaths in peoples' families, all of it. Pearsall getting shot just before the season started. I think he's gonna tie one on next season. Just my gut feeling.
The speed was gone at the end of the year during the Super Bowl There is time that the body doesn’t respond. Looks like it’s time to hang it up. Campbell is part of a bigger problem. The performance QC is falling down on his job if players and positions fall on PFF and the issue is not addressed. Campbell wasn’t good and didn’t put 100% as past years players in that position. Slow and out of position being burned play after play messed with his mentality.
I’m glad De’vondre quit mid game he should’ve quit after week 1 or 2 with that horrible defense he plays!! Man is trash to me in coverage and by him quitting on the team we quit on him don’t bring his sorry behind back period 💯
The 49ers need to start the process of rebuilding the club from scratch, which would entail trading away all but a couple of top tier players for 2025 draft picks. And then sign all draftees to 5 year contracts and then trade away the majority of them after their forth year for draft picks. This is how a team can keep the team infused with young talent and stay under the cap. And I would not give Brock Purdy a huge contract. I would instead trade him for what I could get because he is only a top tier quarterback during good weather and he does not have top tier arm strength. He would be a good dome, fair weather quarterback, , but that is it. His hands are too small , being the reason he has his problems with a wet ball. That problem will not go away. I like Purdy, but I do not see him as the answer. The 49ers need to draft a quarterback that can play in the elements. Another alternative would be to keep Purdy and draft a mud baller to back him up or to take over during rainy games, but I still would not pay him the top dollars he wants because of his obvious deficiencies.
Actually, THE guy cambell was a lot OF late to make THAT kind OF decisión, He Will be a GREAT help ir he quit 12 games before, he was so slow besides Warner...😏😏😏😏

Don't say that about my coach. We had a ton of injuries this season. A TON. To our best players. We were lucky to not fall apart entirely and still end up winning several games.
