@@zackhurwitz9441 I didn't watch him play in college, but I have watched almost all of his games as a pro, and any time it's raining he plays poorly, or at least worse than usual.
The man coverage thing isn't Purdy. That's something the Niners as an offense struggle with. Beating man requires a legit #1 and/or a creative passing game. I love Juaun but he isn't a legit 1. He's a great 2. If Kittle was a focus in the passing game, man wouldn't be as big of a problem.
At 18:57 you say that he needs to throw the ball here "x", which I understand, needed to lead RP a little more. But how can he when #95 is literally in the throwing lane? If he throws it more to the right, it gets batted down or worse, up, then int. This is not a BP issue, this is a C/LG issue. Ppl that say he has time in the pocket to throw need to know, he has time bc he has been scrambling for his life all year. Watch the replays. LG/C have been in his lap all season. Literally every fan has been screaming for the org to address the oline issues, they haven't. CMC was a band aid and covered up the line issues last year bc he's so good. Until they fix it, this team will go no where and they will continue to incorrectly blame the QB. Does he have bad games,100%. Everyone does. Get him protection and watch him sky rocket.
Chase it seems like all three teams with major contract issues all have fallen apart. Dallas with Dak and Lamb, Cincy Higgins and Chase and SF with Williams and Ayuik
It's not that difficult. Our STAR players were either hurt or out of sync due to injuries. That is why the season went to hell. If you disagree with that, you're saying it doesn't matter what players are on your roster.
@@_STNML Yeah, I feel like our team needs to purge a few guys to get the focus back on working hard and winning. Hoping Dre, Fred, Huf, Purdy, CMC, and George can help get the culture right next year.
Deebo catches that pass and the narrative today would be that purdy outplayed Stafford. Even if there was no interception and the niners get a field goal or touchdown, stafford would have still got the ball with 4 mins left, eat the clock, drive the field and Rams still woulda won with a field goal or TD. It basically came down to who had it last in these wet conditions.
If the Niners sign this guy to be their franchise QB for the next 5 years, they will be a cellar dwelling team for that period. Chase said one play doesn’t define how good he’s been for the team. Garoppolo went 13-3 and he overthrew Sanders in the SB and was garbage after that and a year later, they drafted Lance. Purdy is only good when great players are around him and the defense is good. Mahomes lost Hill to free agency and he won a SB. He didn’t have any receivers and his starting running backs got hurt early on in the season. The Chiefs are 12-1. Many people would say you can’t compare Purdy to Mahomes, but when we’re talking about giving Purdy $50M a year versus Mahomes’ $52M, then they’re comparable.
Brock purdy is the problem he had people open right in front of him and throws interception an he does this all the time and shanahan want take him out we will never win big games.
One thing you said in the opening: Weather was definitely a factor. True but, if you’re an NFL quarterback who wants to be playoff caliber, you can’t use that excuse. Pat Kirwan made an excellent point yesterday. If you go to the playoffs, you’re going to some cities with potential for less than ideal weather conditions. Seattle, Chicago, Philly, Washington. AFC even more so!!
To be fair, had his receivers caught their passes and his O-line played a bit better, it would have been fine. Matt Stafford played worst than Purdy. It wasn't until the 9ers started making errors on Defense in the 2nd half that Matt Stafford even did anything.
I said this...Deebo complained he wasn't getting the ball enough so they forced fed him all night and as a result of it...lost the synergy they had the week before with the Bears...that first play Jennings is open down the middle...if he didn't force it might have had a TD over the top down the middle...they changed their whole offense to force feed Deebo the prima dona and lost because of it...just disappointing.
I disagree, Brock has missed a lot of open guys this year that could’ve led to several wins, he’s not the big money qb, he’s a budget qb at this point.
He was this season. If he played like last season, he’s not budget. He’s certainly misfired too much this season to carry the team or be considered great this season, but he’s done it in past seasons. All the more frustrating though. He’s certainly played himself into a cheaper contract. I think he’s smart enough to know like every player especially QB you have to have a whole team around you, so I think he’s smart enough not to be greedy. Now his agent🤷♂️
@@maxsteel32there was plenty of each to go around. Brock could have overcome them if he hadn’t as many missed opportunities and bad decisions in crucial moments. That’s what’s required to carry a team. He played well, but he can and has played better.
Chase love the breakdown man. Brock’s a great qb. It doesn’t help when you have lots of injuries around the whole team, oline can’t block and give time, and lots of pressure to win it all because we’ve been to sb last year. Lots against us this year and it wasn’t our year. Regroup for next year and get out lines right and we’ll be back. Our oline sucked butt last game. Banks you’re gone mckivjtz and brendal too!
Deebo is washed. Purdy's play in the last 18 games hasn't justified top tier money. They would regret letting him go, but they will also likely regret loading his contract with a ton of guaranteed money. His arm is pretty weak, and he struggles throwing the ball in any sort of weather which is going to happen multiple times a season.
Always enjoy the way Chase breaks things down. The Niners put out a JV team on offense and they still almost won. With re: to the last interception, Brock hit the open receiver - usually in their hands. They just don’t separate that much this year. Oh yeah, and he has almost no time to throw. I wonder what Troy Aikman’s record was when Michael Irvin, Emmit and Larry Allen didn’t play. I’m not sure if it ever happened. Brock is a very good QB - makes very good decisions, and is crazy accurate. Get some of his weapons back and you will see him as a clear top 10 and maybe top 5 QB again next year.
Yes injuries, yes dropped passes, yes special teams egregious mistakes, yes defensive failures, Brock has played well, but… if he literally makes a handful of better decisions, this team is at worst 10-7. Literally a handful of plays and that’s the difference in spite of ALL the injuries, drops, mistakes penalties. A handful of better decisions by Brock and they are 10-7 or better despite all of it. So clearly he’s not the problem, but I strongly believe he could have been the solution. Difference between great and good. Last play on your tape analysis is a piece of that puzzle. Missed deep ball to Ricky. I know he can make that throw, Aiyuk in the playoffs catch. This entire team has been lacking in execution consistently and they’ve shot themselves in the foot. Game in, game out. I still think rest disadvantage is a huge part of it. Cumulative. How else can basically the same team drop off a cliff in performance following a Super Bowl year. Not to mention the mistakes in the SB. 😔
Brock is the player talking heads love to hate. They look at game where it snowed 6 inches and one where it rained most of the game. 49ers O Line is bottom third without Trent. Why doesn't anyone compare the QB's in that game. Stafford (possible hall of famer) only threw for 18 more yards than Purdy, Niners had 4 drops(Debo touchdown) to Ram's none and Ram's also had no touchdowns. Didn't Stafford also throw 3 if not 4 balls right into DB's hands but all were dropped but the one mistake Purdy made which was a hell of a catch by the DB, is made to be career ending. Ram's also had there starting receivers and running backs, SF?
Hey Chase Daniels, you have a great 👍 show. You can talk from experience and that's why I listen to you 😀. You actually played football 🏈. The people who don't play sports are hard to listen to.
I’m fully confident an elite processor like purdy turning into a tunneling qb over one offseason has absolutely nothing to do with him and everything to do with Kyle Shanahan. You can compare clips from first 2 yrs to this yr and see him go from super quick full field reads to never moving his helmet stripe. KS has micromanaged Purdy’s greatest strength out of his game. Not to mention his playbook is so tired and downloaded that any defense that plays against us looks great. Disgusting year…
I feel like someone needs to teach him how to throw deep cause in that pass to Ricky or whoever he’s like going left a little instead of being straight to where he wants to throw the ball idk
He has the potential to be, but has a long way to go. He needs to strengthen his arm and read a defense, and start to call audibles. Juice was open often, but BP is missing him. He has ways to go and is not worth that $50M thats been thrown around. He needs another year
An elite qb elevates his team’s level and makes it look elite even when they aren’t, if Purdy was elite niners would be leaders in the division, but they aren’t. Open your eyes mate

@@nxtro3882 It’s advanced analytics stats. I’ve heard it too, I’m not sure on the source. Watching them though, many times the receivers just aren’t getting open in man at all.
Do you ever think that Brock isn't playing well when Kyle pulls his strings to hard and forces him to play his way... When Purdy cuts loose he looks good and gets in the zone, you can tell when Shanahan is too involved and Purdy gets in his own way cause he can do his style.
Ironically Kyle Shanahan doesn’t agree lol in two post game interviews he basically said it wasn’t a bad read the receiver was hit on the route got slowed down and if anything he wished he didn’t call it. And truthfully we need another quarterback. We need to relinquish so much control from Shanahan because his drafting decisions have been terrible. Trading decisions and not paying and keeping players like Buckner and Azeez and other depth players were costly. And never addressing the offensive line. That trying to just scheme with a below average line is insane. And Shanahan doesn’t run the ball enough when the actual game determines he should… he’s an offensive coordinator and not a coach ….
49ers have had bad luck this season. My issue with Purdy is he's a injury risk So even if 49ers were all there you're going to need a backup whom throws 125 and doesn't throw incercetions
We all know where Brocks #1 is, sitting at home. His #2 hasn’t done anything all season. He’s made his #3 look like an all pro, and his #4 is a rookie that got shot. How good was Stafford when everyone was missing? Still, I wouldn’t pay him 60 million. Probably not 50. Take some back loaded deal that makes it sound great but will be restructured in the future if need be and be done with it. 👍🏼
The Head Coach must be able to adapt to the players he has! Where are the 2 second (or less) passes. Screens, play action, etc! Where is the deception? The opponents know the 49ers are coming at them with the "outside zone plays"! Why so many "slow developing" plays on short yardage that rely on elite level blocking when most of the Offensive Line is not "elite". Would a 280 pound fullback/guard we better than Juice? Where is the second Tight End that can catch a pass or block - another slimmed down, in shape, guard could do as well. Kittle is as good pattern runner, but he could learn something from Travis Kelly on how to find the open zone for the quick pass. Without Brandon, the wide receivers do not have the speed or pattern running ability to beat the defensive backs. The game against the Rams looked like a "force the ball to Debo" game. Didn't work! Pearsall has been a non-factor. Not making Pearsall a "threat" is a coaching problem, not a Purdy problem. Where is John Lynch in providing better talent after injuries and after the limitations of the existing players becomes blatantly obvious? All of "franchise" problems cannot be fixed this year or probably even next year.
“He had a bad game” This shit kills me more than any other take He was 15 TDs and 8 interceptions before the game. This is a TERRIBLE. SEASON. Not a “bad game” (Not all his fault, or mostly his fault, but hes surely regressed.)
That’s why we should have kept Trey! All those wasted picks! Kyle needs to develop a QB and then tailor his offense to their talents! Once A. Reid figured it out with Mahommes, SB wins start pouring in!
I think the niners need to see another year. Look two years from now. No Trent, No CMC. Will Kittle or Aiyuk be the same. His first two years, not many injuries. A lot of players were playing high caliber ball. Kyle’s system was executed as designed. Imagine, no Kyle or the same numbers of high quality players. Would it be prudent to max sign Purdy.
Chase Daniels What you should really talk about is how HORRIBLE Trey Pipkins is...Ummm "Pass blocking?" 😒 He's chasing after WHIFFED BLOCKS, falls to the ground on blocks, let's guys run right past him if they don't run DIRECTLY INTO HIS CHEST 😭. JUST watch the two Chargers scoring drives against the Chiefs. Just laughable. Even blocks his own teammate on a running play. Salyer can't be worse 😮 And Herbo is having to be SUPERMAN because of #79.
Thursday night was the Niner Oline’s worst game of the year statistically, and that’s saying something considering they’ve sucked all year. Stafford had a bad game too shoulda thrown 2 picks that were dropped. It wasn’t a QB night. If Deebo catches that ball they win
49ers have been decimated by inuries to key players, so everything is out of sync this year. When everyone was healthy, Purdy and the offense were awesome. People need to stop over-scrutinizing every missed throw or bad game by Purdy because even hall of fame QBs had tons of terrible games. Too many people have it imprinted in their brains that because Purdy was the last pick of the draft, that he sucks and somehow just got lucky for two years, which of course is competely ridiculous. The only reason he didn't get drafted earlier was because of nonsensical combine metrics and doesn't have a cannon arm, even though he was an excellent college QB.
4:43 what do you mean that was a special throw every quarterback in the league including the ones that sit on the bench all day can make a 25-yard throw to a wide open receiver. Are you trolling right now?
Purdys first season+ he was much faster in Processing & Throwing.. Maybe his Recoevers are too slow - Purdy is a Snap Snap - Up Tempo Quarterback. If he's forced to Slow Down Defenses will destroy him as the would any QB ...
Can Purdy win with a good team and not a great team is what the real question is. U can’t pay everyone if Purdy is getting paid. No problem paying Purdy but he has to uplift the team somewhere. So pay Purdy and have no OL.. or pay Purdy and have marginal WR but a good OL. Somewhere will suffer. Expect 49ers to be good but not SB contenders. Window has closed. To many bad contracts also with Trent Williams and CMC and Deebo.
Debo lost them the game with bad play following whining about not getting his. Bad team player. Then trying to make him happy they forced too many plays toward him
I don’t get your video. You say he “might” be the problem, then go show dropped passes and a terrible offensive line. Yeah, he made some bad throws. Does he need to be perfect for them to have a chance? How much slack does the rest of the team get? Deebo is washed out. Can’t run. Can’t separate. Sure as cand’t catch. Team is #32 in YAC. OLine gives him a full second before he has to fear for his life. His defense drops what, 2 clear INTs? Yet somehow the problem is him?
Actually there’s nothing special about throwing in the middle of the field it’s the easiest throw for a quarterback throwing outside the numbers is what makes a great passer
Purdy is too small to see ver the line and too weak to rifle the ball downfield, this off season will make of progress break the Niners for years to come, those wasted first round picks on Pearsall and Trey are a massive challenge.
Not relative to the other team's QBs in similar circumstances, or even the same games. Stafford looked terrible too, he just happened to get away from his mistakes. Mcvay literally took the ball out of his hands to have to win the game.
Purdy can’t see over the offensive line. The other problem is he can’t identify a blitz to save his life. Fans blame it on the offensive line but the QB has to help in protection too.
brock isn't the problem. coach needs to just let him play and stop focusing on one player. sorry Deebo, i love you, but you are the problem rn. because you aren't letting Brock be brock, and shannahan is not able to coach to his potential cause he loves Deebo too much.being self-less is the way to win championships. not greed and selfishness. there's no I in Team. we learned that as kids playing for the first time. what happened to that mentality? yall are adults. not playing with old school values. simple as that.

He played fine in the rain for years in rain and snow at Iowa State. No QB is at their best in the rain.
@@zackhurwitz9441are you silly we have seen he is not
@@zackhurwitz9441 I didn't watch him play in college, but I have watched almost all of his games as a pro, and any time it's raining he plays poorly, or at least worse than usual.
Watching the rams 4 man pressures get home consistently on film speaks more to Purdy’s struggles overall. That’s been the story all season
Why does Shanahan hate screen passes?
Yea people say you can't compare the 2 but put them in the same elite teir
Every QB misses throws but I'm pretty sure there were more drops and bad routes than missed throws this season.
Any QB behind our O line will be "okay" at best. Doesn't help receivers cannot consistently get seperation.
Purdy: career 68 passer rating in fourth quarter when game is within seven points.
The protection break down on Purdy is key. As soon as he gets the ball he’s looking to get rid of it. Has no confidence of his protection
Hey Chase Daniels, you have a great 👍 show. You can talk from experience and that's why I listen to you 😀. You actually played football 🏈. The people who don't play sports are hard to listen to.
I appreciate you, man!
Purdy Awful is and will always be a glorified game manager. 49ers regret not keeping Sammy Dimes!
Yes. Brock is elite, but his team sure is not elite this year. Brock has carried a very crappy and inured 49ers team this season.
It’s wild!!
He has the potential to be, but has a long way to go. He needs to strengthen his arm and read a defense, and start to call audibles. Juice was open often, but BP is missing him. He has ways to go and is not worth that $50M thats been thrown around. He needs another year
@@alanhodge1533 Please go talk to a wall or something. Thanks.
An elite qb elevates his team’s level and makes it look elite even when they aren’t, if Purdy was elite niners would be leaders in the division, but they aren’t. Open your eyes mate
@@eliasgonzalez5357ho.lee. shit.This is a bad take.
From that statement, I guess Joe Burrow isn't elite either. SF's weapons are last in separation and YAC this year. You want Purdy to catch and run for them too?
4:04 why did kittle ran towards the sideline looks like if he ran straight he could’ve scored
That last throw he was giving Jennings a shot and he looked like he quit on the play to me.
The problem was he felt forced to throw to Deebo more than the other receivers. Should just have let Brock play he plays best. Moving the ball around.
Great breakdown, thanks for posting!
Luv your honest analysis!
The magic throws are mostly gone.
Team chemistry is gone, too.
Looks more like a coaching issue
Every thing is tight window this year, meaning he's gonna try to make plays that aren't there because most of the time they are barely there at all. Lowest separation rate for receivers in the entire league. Thats Kyle not scheming well.
It’s def not coaching
@@terrythegnome2408how do you see those stats
@@nxtro3882 It’s advanced analytics stats. I’ve heard it too, I’m not sure on the source. Watching them though, many times the receivers just aren’t getting open in man at all.
@@ChaseDanielShowif it’s not coaching then could it possibly be the qb?
When you rush 19 times for 60 yards it does not matter if Kurt Warner or Montana is QB
Kyle is done
Do you ever think that Brock isn't playing well when Kyle pulls his strings to hard and forces him to play his way... When Purdy cuts loose he looks good and gets in the zone, you can tell when Shanahan is too involved and Purdy gets in his own way cause he can do his style.
Huh? Shanahan as the play caller is getting too involved? Do you think it's 1974 and Purdy calls his own game?
@@whiskeykilmer1866I think he means when they clearly are trying to force the ball to certain players, like Deebo.
@@zackhurwitz9441 I think he means what he wrote.
Come be Mizzous OC or QB Coach. You’re the best to ever do it in CoMo.
Great analysis as usual.
He’s a really good Qb. He needs a little better protection
Season ending pick was inexcusable. He won’t be replaced next year but they sure are looking at all the options in the next two drafts.
Ironically Kyle Shanahan doesn’t agree lol in two post game interviews he basically said it wasn’t a bad read the receiver was hit on the route got slowed down and if anything he wished he didn’t call it. Purdy took the blame for it though but he does that so I don’t know. I honestly think missing Pearsall was worse than the interception.
@@binalip1669they’re both bad game changing decisions/executions. He needs to be better. The whole team needs to be better. Too many mistakes and missed opportunities across the board this season.
@@shannonpeacock3509 yeah that’s my take too this team just wasn’t good enough this year and weaknesses got exploited and the vibes were not great. They lost as a team everyone points to this throw that drop or missed tackle but it was problems up and down the roster no one played consistently well all season they need to rally and regroup
@Tanyewes That would be a waste of draft capital. We have other needs that QB. We need O-Line help, D-Line help, a new Corner next year, another running back... sadly, and probably another receiver.
@@kiethd83I could see them using a late round pick on a QB if they really like one in the way they did Purdy Brandon Allen can’t be QB2 and don’t know what the deal is with Dobbs so maybe?
And truthfully we need another quarterback. We need to relinquish so much control from Shanahan because his drafting decisions have been terrible. Trading decisions and not paying and keeping players like Buckner and Azeez and other depth players were costly. And never addressing the offensive line. That trying to just scheme with a below average line is insane. And Shanahan doesn’t run the ball enough when the actual game determines he should… he’s an offensive coordinator and not a coach ….
12:38. Threw off the shoulder of his left guard. His blind side. He doesn’t have time to go through his progression. It’s the o line. Not the qb
49ers have had bad luck this season. My issue with Purdy is he's a injury risk
So even if 49ers were all there you're going to need a backup whom throws 125 and doesn't throw incercetions
Yeah I don't want to hear another Brock Purdy slander...they need to release Deebo and build their offensive line
Your saying it didn’t look good at all but you only showed one play that was actually “bad”
91 was eating Puni and the whole line for breakfast lunch and dinner
9ers had 4 butter finger plays that cost them. Purdy int, 2 dropped int, deebo dropped td down the middle.
Your thumbnaill is the bears game not the rams game great vid
8:47 To me, it looks like he was going to try and jump in between the tackle and guard, but that gap closed, so he twisted to protect himself.
“He had a bad game”
This shit kills me more than any other take
He was 15 TDs and 8 interceptions before the game. This is a TERRIBLE. SEASON.
Not a “bad game”
(Not all his fault, or mostly his fault, but hes surely regressed.)
That’s why we should have kept Trey! All those wasted picks! Kyle needs to develop a QB and then tailor his offense to their talents! Once A. Reid figured it out with Mahommes, SB wins start pouring in!
He can't see over the middle of the line without a clean throwing lane
he's 6'1"
Chase tell us more about your career
Salyer can't be worse 😮
And Herbo is having to be SUPERMAN because of #79.
He was pressured on 65% of his passes. All year long problem.
Brock been playing behind an Oline from Temu. Enough said
The starters are so much better than their replacement
First play should have been Jennings wide open
I have a strange theory about what's going on with Brock.
He got married earlier this year and I think his concentration is off because of it.
Purdy is so short that he has to jump to throw over the o-line...lmao.
Might be... Chase...he did enough to win it, receivers didn't. He will get paid, not the problem.
Did he say a lot of people in the NFL can't throw a post?
No..and no again...he's doing the best he can with the play calling and the lack of protection.
Brock is good. Bet on that when he has the kids. Otherwise no.
They need to invest in o line
brock ain't the problem, deebo and the rest of the receivers are the problem
Debo lost them the game with bad play following whining about not getting his. Bad team player. Then trying to make him happy they forced too many plays toward him
12:05. Is Brock the problem? Really. He’s about to get sacked. And he stepped into the pocket.
I love it when mediocre players leave the nfl and then critique players that are far better than them
As opposed to people like you and I that never played in the league? Glass house, stud 😂
@@zackhurwitz9441 - Truer words right here 😂😂

TLDR, Brocks not the problem.
Purdy is the weak link. Do what the coach says and you'll be fine. Try to make your own decisions and fail horribly
Purdy a dawg. Our OL is trash. And has been the last few years.
And we still loss, he can't play in bad weather late in the year if we make playoff next year this will be a problem
Actually there’s nothing special about throwing in the middle of the field it’s the easiest throw for a quarterback throwing outside the numbers is what makes a great passer
It isn't easy for all QBs...there are certain QBs who literally can't throw over the middle. And layered throws between LBs and DBs aren't easy.
Factually incorrect. So, Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson are, or have been the best passers in the league?
Purdy appears to be only as good as his supporting cast.
This dude have a lot of bad games he sucks
Deborah is the problem
Purdy is too small to see ver the line and too weak to rifle the ball downfield, this off season will make of progress break the Niners for years to come, those wasted first round picks on Pearsall and Trey are a massive challenge.
I f they let Brock go , I will let them go .
Hasn't Brock had some problems in other bad weather games? 🤡
Not relative to the other team's QBs in similar circumstances, or even the same games.
Stafford looked terrible too, he just happened to get away from his mistakes.
Mcvay literally took the ball out of his hands to have to win the game.
No not after you praise him when a lot of us seen he can't play in bad weather that's football if you can't do that don't play
Special ha 😂there was no one near kittle come on man..
Purdy can’t see over the offensive line. The other problem is he can’t identify a blitz to save his life. Fans blame it on the offensive line but the QB has to help in protection too.
cool but not true
2 players would start for other teams on the offensive line on other teams. One of them was hurt, with Williams being out and Puni had a bad game.
In Shanahan's system the center controls the protection schemes the QB doesn't.
The oline sucks give purdy a good oline and se what purdy can do get rid of debo get a better reciever
brock isn't the problem. coach needs to just let him play and stop focusing on one player. sorry Deebo, i love you, but you are the problem rn. because you aren't letting Brock be brock, and shannahan is not able to coach to his potential cause he loves Deebo too much.being self-less is the way to win championships. not greed and selfishness. there's no I in Team. we learned that as kids playing for the first time. what happened to that mentality? yall are adults. not playing with old school values. simple as that.
For christ sake it's NOT purdy which is the problem. he has a crap offensive line ANY QB would struggle with that line even Mahomes....Give the guy a break for god sake!!
