Never understood the big deal about De Zerbi. Inherited a good squad, in a very well run club. Played some good football, the media bigged him up to take the Liverpool job, got his head turned and then couldn't be bothered. I think Brighton have done the right thing.
My money is on Potter returning. They had a long term project, things working well before Chelsea came in and nicked him. Would be a good environment for him to rebuild his career.
As for Mckenna he'll 100% stay put.

Didn't get his head turned in the slightest.. one of the worst injury lists in the league derailed the season. has left the club with no other clubs in for him. Amicable parting, Potter won't be asked to return. All this talk of mckenna is without any source, talksport/crook and media in general just thrashing around as per usual repeating stuff they see on twitter. They had no clue about de zerbi when Potter left and the mckenna stuff is pure guesswork but you never know.. even a blind pig comes across a truffle now and then..

Player who you though were fantastic start to look average , injuries Mount up and the new players you brought in for large new transfers and wages aren’t performing . Brighton are an established Premiership club 6 season , they’ve build up the squad at very little cost by out scouting the top clubs and recorded the Largest profit any Premier League club has ever recorded. So when Ipswich get a top six finish and win a European group stage they may be considered bigger in the present day. Please note history counts for nothing with regard Premiership performance. Sir Bobby Robson worked wonders there and still went on to coach England and other major European clubs, if McKenna is truly as talented as they say it won’t matter if it’s this season or three seasons from now - if he can do the previously unthinkable and reignite an entire franchise from near deaths door to established glory then he can do anything he wants - but - the job at ITFC isn’t done yet, not by a long shot, and that’s why he should stay.

Brighton will be on the decline eventually. No club can sustain buying cheap and selling expensive. They might sustain Premier league for a while but it’s not going to be pretty. I’m not here saying McKenna won’t go as it’s a good progression move still but I wouldn’t think of Brighton as this stable prem club. They can soon find themselves in the bottom area fighting with one bad move or sale.

    • @Fractalchemystical

It's not buying cheap and selling expensive which is the problem, as long as you're buying quality players. The problem is that they keep selling their best players every summer. That is what is unsustainable. Buying cheap and selling expensive is actually a great model in general, you just need to keep your best players.

People outside of Ipswich have no idea what is going on, and Mc Kenna did not come to us in L1 lightly, and he will not leave easily either.
I do not see him going to Brighton as he has full say over players in and out, at Ipswich, and we have a united club, with owners, players, manager, supporters all on the same page.
I have been an Ipswich supporter for 50m plus years, and realise how rare this is in football, and we have never been more united as a club.
Kieran Mc Kenna will not walk away from that lightly, and we are well set up behind the scenes as well, and whilst we need to become PL established, we are a bigger club than all PL teams other than the top 9, and the bigger challenge for Mc Kenna will be seeing what he can do with us for the the next 2 or 3 years, not going to a Palace/Brighton/Fulham, and no disrespect mean to those clubs at all.
He is hugely ambitious, and wants to manage in the PL and CL again, yet he is also highly principled, and will leave the stability he has at Ipswich at some point, yes, but personally, I do not see that as being in any way imminent.
