In Sweden there is an expression "It was better before". As for this song, I can only agree. No pyrotechnics, no hysterical dancers, just Vicky wearing a black dress singing her song. With such radiance and her amazing voice, it still touches me ( almost starts to cry) and I think it is still the best song ever sung in Eurovision

You got the wrong song and definitely the wrong artist: as sweet as she is Vicky was a horrendous performer - "L'amour est bleu", one of the true gems of all time suffered greatly just because of her in 1967.
I am 58 years old (and English) and I think that this is my all-time favourite Eurovision song/singer. It was beautiful. I loved Abba of course, but Vicky was the perfect example of Eurovision perfection and professionalism which has disappeared now, sadly.
She looks gorgeous here, doesn't she? And she was proficient in 3 other lingos besides her native tongue, wasn't she? And last, but not least, she was a talented singer.

The words " come what may ' are on my daughters headstone . She was born n died in 1972 & this song will always remain in my heart for my daughter. When Vivki Leandrus won that night she then sang the song in English . Thank you for a beautiful song .

My parents let me watch the Eurovision Song Contest aged 6 years, and I have been a huge fan ever since of it, attending also. I love this song. Nothing has ever beaten the quality and masterpiece of this song and winner of Eurovision 1972. I Often play it.

I'd rank Aprés Toi in Top 10 ESC winners of all time, arguably the best of the 70s too. Such a powerful, luxurious, forceful and timeless track, would still do very well in the contest today! English version Come What May is brilliant too, got to #2 in UK... SHOULD'VE BEEN NUMBER 1!!!!

Although I don't follow Greek or French,I first heard the instrumental version of this song played by the orchestra of legendary Paul Mauriat.I felt that there was an extraordinary beauty and feeling to this melody .On my further exploration, I came to learn about Vicky and this song.As some one from India,we are more inclined towards English rock music.But I am a huge fan of instrumental music ,specially specially by legends like Mantovani ,Mauriat Mauriat, Frank Purcell, James Last ,Andre Rieu etc etc .And when I first heard the instrumental version of this song,I fell in love with it and ever since it has been like that.Thanks Vicky for this memorable song.

Quand ma mère m'a donné l'âge de Vicky Leandros j'ai été très étonnée de la voir si "vieille". Et là je me rend compte que cette artiste se produisait déjà avant ma naissance. Mais j'avais tellement l'habitude de l'entendre à la radio que pour moi c'était une chanteuse qui se produisait actuellement. Donc vive les radios qui rendent les chansons intemporelles.
Just discovered this talent tonight. i have been listening to a collection of her songs and just read here that she is a ESC winner. I am not surprised. It's been one great vocal after another, in so many different languages. Thanks to the magic of the Internet (and you tube uploaders) the past is back and her gift is being received by a new set of ears.

I was 11 years old back then. I fell in love with Vicky and believed I'd look for her and marry her one day. I went to the point to look for the studio where she'd record her songs few years later when I grew up and went to study at La Sorbonne University in Paris. I was 9 when I watched this performance and I have to say it's still my favourite eurovision song of all time, beautiful song with a powerful singer.
I was 9 too, remember it very well watching her a few days before the contest on our old black and white tv with massive sound, in the kitchen, the color tv was in the livingroom cuz dad wanted to see something else. I knew she was going to win with this landmark song.

The best Eurovision winner ever. Absolutely wonderful. Full of emotion. Lovely tune. I was involved in the Eltham Well Hall Train crash in London that year - 1972. My parents let me watch the Eurovision Song Contest aged 6 years, and I have been a huge fan ever since of it, attending also. I love this song. Nothing has ever beaten the quality and masterpiece of this song and winner of Eurovision 1972. I Often play it.
I was in Belgium, at the time, and watched her win this. An awesome song that will never get old.

Being a British colony in mid 70's, Hong Kong had chances to broadcast the Eurovision contest for few years. Although this song got huge success worldwide, it did not get much air-play through public broadcast channels here. Only few radio DJs and record sellers discovered this gem. She won , here in Edinburgh Scotland. The limousine that took her from her hotel to the venue was driven by my father .. He told me she was singing this song in the back of the car and told her she would win.. I was 12years old. This and three years before a man walked on the moon, are vivid memories. I know - crazy: I have to live in this head....

Vicky Leandros was just unstoppable that year, she slayed big time and thoroughly deserved to win. One of Eurovision's most successful stars, she is a Greek goddess reincarnated as a human! I'd rank Aprés Toi in Top 10 ESC winners of all time, arguably the best of the 70s too. Such a powerful, luxurious, forceful and timeless track, would still do very well in the contest today! English version Come What May is brilliant too, got to #2 in UK... SHOULD'VE BEEN NUMBER 1!!!!
Nice song but really just more French melodrama - The New Seekers should have won IMHO.
ESC could have been canceled at that exact moment because there will never ever be a song that good again.
Ich musste dieses Lied heute unbedingt anhören, um mir nach dem gestrigen erneuten ESC-Desaster vor Ohren zu führen, was der Wettbewerb einmal bedeutet hat.
PC-Haltung, buntes Outfit, Herumgehampel und Sendungsbewusstsein sind kein adäquater Ersatz für (auch landestypische) Authentizität, fachliches Können und eine gute Stimme.

Although I don't follow Greek or French,I first heard the instrumental version of this song played by the orchestra of legendary Paul Mauriat.I felt that there was an extraordinary beauty and feeling to this melody .On my further exploration, I came to learn about Vicky and this song.As some one from India,we are more inclined towards English rock music.But I am a huge fan of instrumental music ,specially specially by legends like Mantovani ,Mauriat Mauriat, Frank Purcell, James Last ,Andre Rieu etc etc .And when I first heard the instrumental version of this song,I fell in love with it and ever since it has been like that.Thanks Vicky for this memorable song.

" Apres Toi " fez parte da minha geração e vai ficar sempre na minha memória , porque foi das canções mais bonitas que passou na Eurovisão ! Uma excelente interpretação e uma grande presença , marcou esse grande concurso . Tenho o previlégio de ter vivido essa grande época 70/80 dos anos dourados da música !!! Pena que hoje não se faça nada assim e como não há máquina do tempo , o tempo não volta a trás .

Quand ma mère m'a donné l'âge de Vicky Leandros j'ai été très étonnée de la voir si "vieille". Et là je me rend compte que cette artiste se produisait déjà avant ma naissance. Mais j'avais tellement l'habitude de l'entendre à la radio que pour moi c'était une chanteuse qui se produisait actuellement. Donc vive les radios qui rendent les chansons intemporelles.

Just discovered this talent tonight. i have been listening to a collection of her songs and just read here that she is a ESC winner. I am not surprised. It's been one great vocal after another, in so many different languages. I was 11 years old back then.
I fell in love with Vicky and believed I'd look for her and marry her one day. I went to the point to look for the studio where she'd record her songs few years later when I grew up and went to study at La Sorbonne University in Paris.
