I moved there in '57 when I was one years old. I was mid baby boom. It was a great childhood and the parks were a big part of that. I loved the kiddie pool at Edgewood back in the 60's. Santrock was my playground. Played speedball for hours at a time!
This was startling. I was born in BCH in 1962 and went to Memorial Elementary School. Lived near the Indian and, it was a Red Head Gas Station then later became Clark for decades. I used to walk to get gas for the mower when it was 34 cents a gallon. LOL. I lived on the Hillside directly across from Malco with the colored towers on top, the Canal, tow-path and River, and 4 sets of railroad tracks, on Coventry Rd. Slowly, but it's great to see Barberton growing - it was a beautiful city to live in.
