In this video I save the LAST FISH that will EVER be sold at WALMART! It is good to see that Walmart is finally getting rid of all the fish tanks and fish. This was the last shipment of fish that this Walmart was getting so I wanted to save what I could! The tanks were pretty gross with a lot of algae, fish waste, and who only knows what some of the things were. I'm glad I was able to save these fish (even if I did have to drive to a lot of places and almost get caught lol). Thank you for watching, I hope you enjoyed!

Thank god the walmarts around me stop selling fish, the only one that does that i can drive to is 2 hours away and they actually take care of their fishs
Yeah like I said this is the only one I could find within an hour and a half of me, the other one I found I was too late, they already had stopped selling them :/

@@Drewrain21 send them "back to breeders" is code for have their vet on call euthanize them or worse.... Considering they dont even use "reputable breeders" and buy in bulk from mills (goherping has a great vid on finding out where pet Co and smart get their reptiles from and ita disturbing. You surely saved those snakes from a slow agonizing death, so kind of you to buy them all. Luckily no walmarts in the US will sell fish after this year, im so glad. My local walmart still sells currently but at one time back in late 80s early 90s they had knowledgeable staff that cared for fish and my goldfish lived from time i was 4 until after i had my first child (around 20yrs old). My grandparents never expected them to make the ride home, just goes to show ya as the old adage goes "they dont make em' like they used to" which applies to everything today including knowledgeable people in the profession they work every day!

@@Abbie_Loves_John yes i did have a toad on my profile pic. it was my pet on vacation lol. The toads on the east coast of NC look totally different than the ones in western NC mountains. It was such a striking pattern that matched the beach/crab grass so well that I had to take a pic. Love frogs and flowers 😜

-“I’m just taking photos to ask my daughter which one she wants”
-“I’m going to compare prices and ask my boyfriend/girlfriend which one they want”
-“I’m going to take photos to place good ratings and show how well your taking care of your fish ; )”
Then my favorite, the one I use!
-“going to post it all over your social media and report you for animal abuse, and of course I’m going to show every single friend of mine and tell them to share it, too! Your welcome”
right i would just tell them “ yeah i was taking pictures of the fish cuz you guys abuse them and im going to post it everywhere! “ they cant do anything walmart is a public store we can film whatever we want inside

Thank you for commenting that because I think that is exactly it! I didn't have much time to look up what exact worm it was and assumed it was a parasite because I had them in a different tank a year ago

Mixed fruit tetras are actually dyed via injection. It shortens their lifespans. I had one before I found out the were dyed, now I wouldn't buy one. It did live for several years..

I do appreciate that worker saying honestly how no one wanted to care for the fish and she straight up said "I will". Honest workers are my favorite and I am as well but we get in trouble for being honest with customers about products.

i had no clue walmart still sold fish! i remember when i was younger i'd always see dead fishes in my local walmart. they took them out around the time i turned 8 (im 16 now). im glad no more fishes will suffer in walmart
Same. I vividly remember being like 6 yo and seeing all the tanks with dead fish at my local Wal-Mart. They stopped selling fish when I was 8 ... I'm nearly 22 now but I have rather visceral reactions to Wal-Mart and fish in the same sentence.

Those worms are probably detritus worms, the earthworm of the aquarium basically. They usually live in the substrate and eat leftover food and they're a good snack for Bettas and other smaller fish.

My local Walmart still sells tropical fish, goldfish and bettas in those horrible little cups. They never stopped selling them.
I went to Walmart to browse fishtanks because I wanted to buy a new one, and all the tanks were supposedly empty and sold out... but something caught the corner of my eye, and there was a fish left!!! It was a Rainbow Shark, and no staff knew it was there! When I called staff over so I could buy him, they all were in shock. They werent feeding it or anything, and obviously, me being me, I brought it home haha!
Non-fish suggestions for tank-live aquatic plants, snails, shrimp, seamonkeys.
I know this video is over a year old but when you have to do an exchange ask the service desk (where you go to return your items) if you can open up the box and inspect the tank on their at the counter to assess any potential damage to the product before driving home (my Walmart let's me do this). That way you don't have to go back and forth in case the tank is cracked or glued wrong.

If you're sticking with the chipboard for now you can get cheap book contact and cover it to make it waterproof. Will be cheaper, safer and easier than sealing with sealant.

The worms (if they are small white worms) are just plenaria. Completely harmless and fish eat them

In Canada walmart stopped selling fish years ago. Glad they did because they weren't cared for as much as they needed to be.

My longest lived betta was one I got from Wal-Mart when my local store stopped selling fish over a decade ago. He was a Blue crowntail I named Blueberry and he lived for 7 years.
The walmarts near me haven't sold fish ever if my memory serves me right!

Oh my gosh! I have that same 5 gal that I've had for 2 years. I've had my rescued baby snapping turtle in it for one year. Letting him go soon. Anyways, I had NO clue that the filter flow was adjustable! THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING ME! I've had it on the lowest flow the whole time! 😂👍
