Thanks Mike! They're really handy. I took it a bit further with DIY dividers (made a quick tutorial on my second channel: th-cam.com/video/87sSMFX7y9g/w-d-xo.html )

I carry a separate insurance policy on all of my gear. 1. I also live in California (San Francisco). 2. It’s peace of mind for even when I’m traveling with my gear. Love the tool boxes!
@@tombuck that “press to arm, double press to record” have ruined things for me several times :) whenever we podcast we always question “is numbers counting up on your device?” Since rolling time indicators seems reliable and red buttons aren’t!
Seeing your drawer full of various cables and wires made me realize I might need a second tool chest as well. I have a couple dozen XLR’s and hundreds of USB and lightning cables that need a home. Organization what an unsexy but yet somehow sexy necessity. (Obligatory Sony Fx3 comment).
That is awesome! Good for you for tackling the closet space. The comment about reducing friction is spot on. When I added a workbench and pegboard to my studio closet it really helped with grab and go for gear.
I’ve had to do the same. I’ve got cases and cases located on shelf after shelf of kit for my video side of the studio and then other is for music production. . . I have ordered a few chests to make my life easier :)
Awesome! I’m sure you’ll love the upgrade. I got so paranoid after a few earthquakes that I packed everything into my camera bags “just in case” but it was really inconvenient to use.
10:54 I just ordered a guitar strap from Couch. Love the concept and I love vintage things and I love upcycled things! It's a win win win win!! Thanks for the video and all the delicious organization!

10:49 We see that GERALD UNDONE purple HDMI. I LOVE the toolboxes. I use (You can see it in the BG of many of my videos) a 6ft long tool box/work bench I picked dup from Sam's for $400!, Model 20262B. This was by FAR the largest I could find anywhere near as low as what I got it for. I think its runs $500 usually and I caught it on sale. I also use the Steel cabinets.

And hv to be more careful with the gears .. will see if i can get that stuff in india. i keep forgetting the name 🤔
Hi . Nice and tidy! Based on experience I’d humbly suggest skipping the foam cutouts. It won’t take long until one wants to change something, or add or just turn stuff a different way and… the foam becomes your worst enemy. The included non-slip mats look great, will have a look to see if they are available on their own.
*Fantastic!* This is awesome! Thanks for honestly telling and *showing* us how you have morphed. I really *REALLY* want to have the Huskey drawers for THIS desk!!! Urgh....
I remember I sent you a photo of bright GREEN Husky drawers. You should keep an eye out for those to come in stock. Sometimes the stores have colors that aren't available online 👍
For the main talking head I used the Siri 50mm Anamorphic lens (instead of my usual Sony 24mm). It's MUCH wider than a regular lens, but 50mm is also tighter at the same time, so I had to switch angles a bit to make it all fit. 👍 This was for fun more than anything else, definitely not practical for every video.
These have worked SUPER well! I made a video on my second channel about some DIY dividers I added that have also been awesome and held up really well: th-cam.com/video/87sSMFX7y9g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Bou6AX00T18q09Qs
It was probably 5 feet away from me. The workflow is fairly easy once you know how much to "desqueeze it". The toughest part is just making sure everything is in focus since it's all manual. There's a lot of test-shooting beforehand to double check everything. Very different from my other lenses where as long as it's pointed in my general direction I know I'll be in focus 👍
I will be organizing our A/V storage room this summer at work and this is giving me SOOOO many ideas! May I ask where you purchased your red cable ties? They look like little bungee chords. Assuming Amazon purchase???
I've been trying to sell a spare Sony a6400 body, kit lens and other accessories on OfferUp, on Mercari, on FB Marketplace, and on Craigslist for more than a month. I was about to try Swappa but I will give GearFocus a try too. Thanks, Tom!
Great video! Just got myself one of those tool benches. Minor question but what are you using to tie up your cables? I am looking for a similar solution and those look neat.
That's the plan! I want to make separate videos for each of them and then I'll include how each one fits in my workflow with the others. I'm actually planning to start with the FX3 and am outlining that video right now 👍
..i am laughing, because i saw all video, and am thinking if i should comment..knowing that you could try changes and regret it.. initialy i was to say that me as well, am trying to improve space..and i was thinking if those drums, had a chance .. but you said that often they are used...then i rewinded the video, and i know you planned disposition with camera angles in mind..but to go to closet, you have to get up of chair, go around table, closet and back..in 1000 comments, different 1000 opinions, and only your matters..you experience the place.. I would however rotate 90º that tables and move them behind your back..move drums to window and open it sometimes..at least access to closet would be so much easier......until i get bored and change all again, lol.. ..i don't have earthquaques, but some of my stuff is protected in original box. Not so sexy, but well protected..when finished using, inside box it goes.. I have the feeling dudes get so easily out of space.. to finish, your space looks awesome!
It's funny because that's how it originally was set up way back when the channel first started (it does make a lot more sense and frees up quite a bit of space), but ultimately I just like the blue gallery wall as a background 😁
Each new device increases the number of accessories and parts. I made the mistake of putting all the same types of parts in the same box. Poor choice. Now there are parts that I no longer know where they belong to. It is better to keep the parts of a particular use together; drone parts one, camera second, action camera third ..
