holy shit you've made that thing perfectly. i was afraid you would close in those variacs but once i saw the blue lights and the clicking i knew you made it the best possible. the way the power cables come out the back is just so cool. i love how your house is basicly a museum of electrical infrastructure with all the bulbs and mercury arc rectifiers and fusses sitting about. they really are some of the most beautiful decorations. as for not having a diagram for wiring up the buttons, you already have the diagram in your head so if you tried to follow a piece of paper it would just be tedious and waste time. atleast thats how it is for me. i bet you've been building this thing in your head for years.
i'm sorry things are still going rough for you. life can be a real bitch sometimes, computers too. i barely get my videos working due to compatability problems, i have to convert the video files like 3 times before i can upload. and i try to upload once a day so it reeeeaaally makes my blood boil sometimes. i do have to say your camera looks great. and the structure of this video is so well made. just don't feel like now that youve made such a nice video you always have to make your videos so nice. i would still enjoy even if you recorded on VHS haha.
btw i think i may need to send you something to "fix" with your new power supply. i'm thinking maybe my 1960s powerdrill that always shocks me, that thing should take a lot of power before it pops. :D

I have insulators and powerline hardware sitting around my house as well as a powerline that I built across my backyard if your interested!! I haven't messed with my line in over a year but over the last few months I've been adding stuff to it the updates are on my channel. I also rebuilt my high voltage power supply so I could energize it- I had one just like it 5 years ago but scrapped it shortly after I built it- the only thing I kept from it was my 7,200Volt capacitor.

These are the settings I use in Vegas:-
    Project Properties:
    This is a template I've saved as "HD 1080 25p (1920x1080, 25.000 fps)"
Just take the existing HD 1080-50i template, change Field Order to "None (progressive scan)" and save it with a new name. Use this one from now on.
    Render Properties:
Save as type: Sony AVC (*.mp4; *.m2ts; *.avc)
Template: take the existing "Internet 16:9 HD 25p" template, change Frame Size to "High definition (1920x1080)" and save with a new name (I use "Internet 16:9 HD1080 25p")
Files created with the above settings will happily upload to TH-cam, at least they do for me :)

Sadly none of the above worked, I have AVI or MOV and all kinds of stuff not the other file types you mention. You tube hates Mov and avi, the settings were in progressive setting.
I tries avi but the max was 540x some pathetic number..
pinnacle 17 seems to sort it out..1920x 1080p at 25f .we will see upon next upload:)
By the way camera is Full HD 50fi or 25fp its in progressive as afar as I can see .

Thanks Andy, glad I didn't upset anyone on my favourite channel!
BTW what model camera do you have? I bought a JVC GY-HM100 semi pro camera and it records in MP4 and MOV format.
Cyberlink PD and the like shit a brick if I try and edit my files with them and no codec seems to fix this.
I just wonder if you are having this same issue?
I sought help online somewhere and was told my camera was made with the hardware geared toward using Apple's Final Cut Pro software. However I was told I can use Adobe's Premier Pro CC software to edit my preferred recording format of MP4.
I have been using APPCC for a month now and it works like a charm. That said it is nowhere near as easy to use as Cyberlink software by a long chalk.
I am now just starting to show some confidence with the Adobe software and I am starting to see the benefit of the editing power to be gained from using a decent camera.
If you are having a similar issue you should probably struggle down this route as I have.
These are definitely toys for the big boys and makes Cyberlink stuff look like it was made for children!
P.S I can see your camera box in the video, looks like a semi-pro cam so I think I might be right?

So good to have you back on the channel Photon... it has certainly felt like a long time without you but it is truly understandable why you would need time away and I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We have had the sudden loss of my wife's father a couple weeks ago which was unexpected and is hard enough to process during the best of times so our thoughts and kindest regards are with you having to process through it straight after a divorce. I hope you have had good friends to be with you during tjis time.
I have always and still do admire your intellect with electronics (reminds me of my Grandfather who was very talented and was a radar developer during the war then built their areas first tv from oscilloscope green screen and had the neighborhood children around it to glimpse the first tv programs. Im more computers and programming hut also love creating and testing concepts and I love playing with hydrogen production via electrolysis especially pushing the gas back into the 2 stroke gen to feed the power again :). So seeing your up and coming project has me rather excited to see your vision fulfilled.
There are many things that are just not built to last in a capitalist society like ours today to ensure purchase of replacements or the next bigger / better version and I would love to send something over to you for plasmafication but I have lived in New Zealand for last 11y after leaving quiet Norfolk for a better life in the sun so if anything it maybe something small, although will definitely send you something over to the PO Box but it will probably be more of a gift from here rather than plasma food :)
    My condolences and kindest regards
    David

I never see him taking a big risk. He build this super power supply to do his experiments on the safe way and not with bits and pieces. This power supply is not cheap. Its a realy investment trust me.
