Very nice work, mate. Although I'm watching this video nine months after you produced it, I am so sorry to hear about your recent troubles. I trust that things are a little better now. I'm guessing that you must be a professional Electrical Engineer. You produce these amazing designs, like a magician, out of thin air! All the best to you and your continued endeavours on your channel. They are much appreciated!
Glad to see you back Andy. I don't know that if I went through all the shit you have been though I could be arsed anymore. I suppose though things really can only get better so hope they do soon. So must ask, did that 'Boombox Delux' or whoever he was really speak to you? If so I owe him an appology. Oh and you are right about the Video camera editing. I just bought a pro camcorder and can only use Adobe Premier Pro which is hard, Cyberlink don't even know how to decode the MP4!
BoomBoxDeluxe and myself have had a couple of phone conversations but I don't recall him mentioning anything about anyone else :) Why do you owe him apology?
He said (in your comments section) that he spoke to you and explained that you hadn't been online due to buying a new computer that you were having video editing issues with. I told him I thought he was full of it basically and most agreed with me. Oops!
sparkyuiop I admire your honesty, please don't worry, I think BoomBoxDeluxe has heard most things, calling bull is an easy mistake, thinking about it, if I had a long conversation with you on the phone and you did a vid on it, well...Perhaps one or two would call bull to you. Your very welcome here, really no worries :) Thank you. BTW, I'm far from perfect with internet etiquette. ( thank fuck for spell check ) lol
***** Thanks Andy, glad I didn't upset anyone on my favourite channel! BTW what model camera do you have? I bought a JVC GY-HM100 semi pro camera and it records in MP4 and MOV format. Cyberlink PD and the like shit a brick if I try and edit my files with them and no codec seems to fix this. I just wonder if you are having this same issue? I sought help online somewhere and was told my camera was made with the hardware geared toward using Apple's Final Cut Pro software. However I was told I can use Adobe's Premier Pro CC software to edit my preferred recording format of MP4. I have been using APPCC for a month now and it works like a charm. That said it is nowhere near as easy to use as Cyberlink software by a long chalk. I am now just starting to show some confidence with the Adobe software and I am starting to see the benefit of the editing power to be gained from using a decent camera. If you are having a similar issue you should probably struggle down this route as I have. These are definitely toys for the big boys and makes Cyberlink stuff look like it was made for children! P.S I can see your camera box in the video, looks like a semi-pro cam so I think I might be right?
You, Sir, deserve to be knighted for your outstanding contribution to the internet. Please don't ever stop popping things with eye watering currents and beautifully built power sources.
Welcome back Andy! Sorry to hear about everything that's happened over the past few months, been through similar but not all in such a short space of time. I can appreciate all the work that's gone in to your new power supply, especially designing the control system both electrically and ergonomically - and getting those controllers to function just how you wanted. And it looks the business too! Especially the funky blue LEDs on the variac stack. Can't wait to see it in action - you've given us an overview but it's probably worth a whole video in itself demonstrating the functionality in detail... with the obligatory signature POP! to round it off :)
Nice to see you back Andy, love these mad vids. Sorry to hear your having a hard time, I lost my Mum recently & know how hard it is to get over something like that. Hope you get yourself sorted soon & life looks up for you.
So good to have you back on the channel Photon... it has certainly felt like a long time without you but it is truly understandable why you would need time away and I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We have had the sudden loss of my wife's father a couple weeks ago which was unexpected and is hard enough to process during the best of times so our thoughts and kindest regards are with you having to process through it straight after a divorce. I hope you have had good friends to be with you during tjis time. I have always and still do admire your intellect with electronics (reminds me of my Grandfather who was very talented and was a radar developer during the war then built their areas first tv from oscilloscope green screen and had the neighborhood children around it to glimpse the first tv programs. Im more computers and programming hut also love creating and testing concepts and I love playing with hydrogen production via electrolysis especially pushing the gas back into the 2 stroke gen to feed the power again :). So seeing your up and coming project has me rather excited to see your vision fulfilled. There are many things that are just not built to last in a capitalist society like ours today to ensure purchase of replacements or the next bigger / better version and I would love to send something over to you for plasmafication but I have lived in New Zealand for last 11y after leaving quiet Norfolk for a better life in the sun so if anything it maybe something small, although will definitely send you something over to the PO Box but it will probably be more of a gift from here rather than plasma food :) My condolences and kindest regards David

Any chance we'll see the mercury arc rectifiers in action, i.e. a wrench melting or two? Love to see a massive Jacobs ladder or even more with that 50,000 amp transformer you couldn't power before.
Cool. Thanks for replying! If I still have your attention, can you do a little video about how you came to be so knowledgeable about electricity (your education, job, etc)? I'm currently in school to become an electrician and I'm curious about the path you took.
I'm a periodic viewer and I missed any explanation of the 3 large copper circle things on the wheeled rack. I saw something moving on them in the 20,000W light bulb video. What are they? Thanks Edit: just didn't watch far enough before commenting. Saw explination. D'oh!
I really love your videos. I used to do some electrical experiments as a kid but my little battery powered utility lamp with a multiplier circuit attached pails in comparison to anything you've made.
@Photonic Induction where did you get the balancing chokes or did you wind them yourself? If so what core did you use? Thanks man, your videos are so inspiring to electrical engineers all over the world. So thrilled to see that you’re back and doing well, Can’t wait for your next video!!
Welcome back mate! Nice job, I finally took the time to sit through your entire video. Sorry to hear about the bad things that happened throughout time, but from the videos I think I know you well enough to confidently say: You'll make it and even get better than you did before! Good to see you back, your channel is better than TV. Just fitted one of them 125A red plugs on a grain drier. Nice pannel building, a lot of time and effort went into that.
Thank god you're back, sir. Was getting worried. I.. really know what it's like to have a year like that, a year of loss. I've never said much before to you - but, you and a few others (shango066, rodalco) are my only youtube subscribes. Thanks for doing this :)
I would love to see what you could do in a large garage/workshop!.. lets hope the Safety Nazi's have a heart attack and die watching this :p, that is one awe-inspiring power cable!, and yes, I would not hesitate to use one in my house if I did not have a garage to use :p
To be honest i think photon is doing his explosions and destructions on a verry safe way i never see him doing something realy unsafe. Most of the safety nazi's have no idea what he is doing and how he is doing it. I never see him taking a big risk. He build this super power supply to do his experiments on the safe way and not with bits and pieces. This power supply is not cheap. Its a realy investment trust me.
c0d3r3d mine was so slow and lost wifi signal and crashed so much, i hit it against the corner of a table on the back which went right through where the motherboard is and then snapped it in half.
Lawrence Timme Ouch. Mine's slow too, it's crashed once but I barely use it now. I think the only good thing about it was the storage and the price, I got the 64GB model for £120 brand new. I need to use the extended warranty I bought for it, I didn't spend £30 on it for no reason!
Welcome back, Photon. Sorry to hear about all of the unpleasantness and craziness happening off-camera. Thanks again for putting together a video where you build something. They're by far the best.
Maaaaate, good to see you back,I echo the sentiments of others when I tell you I am sorry to hear about the shiatsu you've endured, your outlook on things,in spite of recent events is most admirable. On a lighter note I just need a box of three phase,I mean three ply tissues and some time alone with that hummer of a power supply! I don't think you'll be saying "I ain't avinit" quite so much with that orgasmatron, just don't collapse the grid with it.Cheers fella :-)
I wonder what UK Power Networks would think of this?! Super smart this chap is and I am dead envious of his knowledge and ability build such a machine.
Not a chance, especially if you want to run an FX9590 and a Radeon 295 X2. Plus, you'll need the combined power of the AC unit in the One World Trade Center on top of that CPU just to get it below TJMax!
Glad to see you back. Beautiful job on your new power supply as well! Loved seeing the mercury arc rectifiers on your wall, maybe you could do a vid including them sometime, I love seeing them in action!

used to watch this guy when I was a kid. love coming back to his classic vids and reliving my times as a lil electrical kiddo.
SAME MANN SINCE WHEN I WAS 11 LOL I MISS HIM
Hey Andy. Sorry for your loss bloke, condolences. It's good to see you're keeping your chin up. Let us know if we can help with your editing woes.
If you were local I'd take you up on that
Very nice work, mate.
They are much appreciated!
he is an electrical engineer
Glad to see you back Andy. I don't know that if I went through all the shit you have been though I could be arsed anymore. I suppose though things really can only get better so hope they do soon. So must ask, did that 'Boombox Delux' or whoever he was really speak to you? If so I owe him an appology. Oh and you are right about the Video camera editing. I just bought a pro camcorder and can only use Adobe Premier Pro which is hard, Cyberlink don't even know how to decode the MP4!
BoomBoxDeluxe and myself have had a couple of phone conversations but I don't recall him mentioning anything about anyone else :)
Why do you owe him apology?
*****
Thanks Andy, glad I didn't upset anyone on my favourite channel!

Couple of old boy's building everything. Where are the young lads who will be picking the knowledge n skills up when they die?
Welcome back Andy!
Sorry to hear about everything that's happened over the past few months, been through similar but not all in such a short space of time.
I can appreciate all the work that's gone in to your new power supply, especially designing the control system both electrically and ergonomically - and getting those controllers to function just how you wanted.
And it looks the business too! Especially the funky blue LEDs on the variac stack.
Can't wait to see it in action - you've given us an overview but it's probably worth a whole video in itself demonstrating the functionality in detail... with the obligatory signature POP! to round it off :)
Glad to see your back! Looks like a bomb in that room. :-) Very nice work. A lot of work. Great video.
Fun fact - I recently got my 1kV electrician certification because of this channel so glad to have you back.
I like Bust-A-Fuck. That's my favorite.
Nice to see you back Andy, love these mad vids. Sorry to hear your having a hard time, I lost my Mum recently & know how hard it is to get over something like that. Hope you get yourself sorted soon & life looks up for you.
“I got to wire all this up, with no bloody drawing. I’ll just make it up as I go along.”
That’s about how my projects go.
Mine too, but they never end up looking this professional!
(If they ever get finished)

This dude from England is such a character. His experiments are both amusing and educational.
Divorce? My brother in christ, you have 20 kW power supply. What more could you ask for?
There are many things that are just not built to last in a capitalist society like ours today to ensure purchase of replacements or the next bigger / better version and I would love to send something over to you for plasmafication but I have lived in New Zealand for last 11y after leaving quiet Norfolk for a better life in the sun so if anything it maybe something small, although will definitely send you something over to the PO Box but it will probably be more of a gift from here rather than plasma food :)
My condolences and kindest regards
David
I love that sign behind you, this office is a designated smoking area", because you sure have smoked a lot of stuff in there!
that is one beautiful PSU nice wiring
So sorry to hear about your loss, Andy, but great to see you back on here. We all missed you!
Shame I didnt know about the PO Box, I had a lovely 100 amp battery charger which needed blowing up, but took it down the dump last week. Doh!
Awesome, You're back! Now that is one big boys power supply, can't wait to see something get annihilated on that! I don't know where the like button has gone since the last TH-cam update but I would like this video if I knew how. Sorry to hear about your loss btw.
I have worked for 4 decades as can industrial electrician and you did a great job!
Those huge plugs and and thick cables are amazing!!! Incredible indeed, their size!
You should see some 400a powerlock
You like huge plugs ;)
@@kaspervestergaard2383 truth. lol
With that control panel and that mad scientist vibe, you could be mistaken for Doctor Who! Awesome job and, as always, another awesome video.
Please make a video about the Bust-2-Fuck. :)
Awesome to have you back and nice work!
I will mate:), thank you
Can you share the Schematic diagram pf that power supply ?
Welcome back to the big :)
Hell yes! Your back! Sorry about the troubled times man but im glad to see you alive and well. Can't wait for the videos with the new power supply!
Can I vape with this?
It can vape you m8
Annelise Meier It's not Russia.
*makes clouds that stay in atmosphere*
probably about as powerful as a Russian XD
Why
Sorry to hear about you having such a ruff time mate...I couldn't begin to imagine...
Glad to see you back at it and doing better! That's one badass setup you have upgraded to! Can't wait to see it in action! Cheers!
Sweet, Andy, how's Manlab7?
He's gone through a lot, update to come soon, he made it up into the top room with his training leg unassisted !
I will ask him over and do a full on vid if I can :)

What did he say he lost at the end of his rant? I have troubles understanding/hearing it
+TheHareidGamer "I lost one of my parents too"
Hell yeah he's back! been waiting a long time, awesome stuff! Sorry to hear about your loss and troubles. Thank you so much for making absolutely awesome videos! Any chance we'll see the mercury arc rectifiers in action, i.e. a wrench melting or two? Love to see a massive Jacobs ladder or even more with that 50,000 amp transformer you couldn't power before.
Yay..my favorite electrical channel is back online :)
You just popped up as I was reading, so thank you and hello :)
Thanks
Edit: just didn't watch far enough before commenting. Saw explination. D'oh!
I have no idea what any of this shit does but it looks mint!
I really love your videos. I used to do some electrical experiments as a kid but my little battery powered utility lamp with a multiplier circuit attached pails in comparison to anything you've made.
Nikola Tesla, the millennium edition.
Seeing you back had made my day! I'm really sorry for your loss. Welcome back :)
Your back. Fantastic.
I prefer his front
***** All I need is his side.
*****
His side aint bad either, so my wife says hahaha.
@Photonic Induction where did you get the balancing chokes or did you wind them yourself? If so what core did you use? Thanks man, your videos are so inspiring to electrical engineers all over the world. So thrilled to see that you’re back and doing well, Can’t wait for your next video!!
My condolences for your loss. =(
I think your variac servo needs more volts!
Welcome back mate!
Nice job, I finally took the time to sit through your entire video.
Sorry to hear about the bad things that happened throughout time, but from the videos I think I know you well enough to confidently say: You'll make it and even get better than you did before!
Wish you all the best and greetings from NL!
Will this power an AMD fx-9590 and quad 290?
+BigRedCatFTW no
I'm a radio frequency welding guy. Love anything around 20,000 volts DC. Your vids rock.
Awesome shit mate .I wanna do this with 3x31A zeniths should be a laugh .I did the same as you with the preview Voltage ,nothin worse than kickin the contactor on and not knowing your V :) and there was me thinking my 90A contactor was big ,FUCK ME YOURS IS MASSIVE !! That sounds a little wrong lol .Take care nice to see ya back
Dear lord what your neighbors must think! Great video, and EXCELLENT craftsmanship.
But will it be able to power a Raspberry Pi? :)
Nope
come on, who doesn't have a 3A power supply?
Sure, but only once.
Well he can do 5v so yes it can
"Fucking 'bout time! Where've you been?" is EXACTLY what I was thinking!
Welcome back mate!! We missed you.
You've got better stuff to love than a woman that can't even arc
Photon, it's good to see you back. TH-cam was never the same without you!
I wonder what his power bill is like...
do you honestly think this guy has anything going through his electric meter? I mean come on.. I know little about electrics but I get my juice pre-meter...
Good to see you back, your channel is better than TV.
Just fitted one of them 125A red plugs on a grain drier.
Nice pannel building, a lot of time and effort went into that.
I was just starting to wonder if you popped yourself...
same
" i popped it"
Thank god you're back, sir. Was getting worried. I.. really know what it's like to have a year like that, a year of loss. I've never said much before to you - but, you and a few others (shango066, rodalco) are my only youtube subscribes. Thanks for doing this :)
I think I got Aussie50 over to the dark (Premiere) side!
haha yep, you definitly did!
Aussie50
Might Be Time For You To Build One To Power Just About Every Thing You Could Need It To
Only 2 years later, but sorry for your loss mate, hope you're doing well. Love the vids!
I would love to see what you could do in a large garage/workshop!.. lets hope the Safety Nazi's have a heart attack and die watching this :p, that is one awe-inspiring power cable!, and yes, I would not hesitate to use one in my house if I did not have a garage to use :p
Guy Gustavson I hear even having a single car garage is rare in the UK.
+J IJzer as an example: the screwdriver he used to poke around the motor in the lawn mower video was high voltage insulated :)
Maximilian Mustermann :-)
J IJzer His mate's fingers are high voltage insulated. They tested with the variac if you remember that video.
Sorry to hear of your loss dude.. I lost my mum in August, so I can fully commiserate. Glad you are back, on form, I was wondering where you was !
i would send you my blackberry playbook, but i sort of killed that myself :P
I rekon that power supply would kill it again.
haha i would too but mine's stuck on headphone mode
absolute crap they are, not even TH-cam works properly on it now (can't sign in)
c0d3r3d mine was so slow and lost wifi signal and crashed so much, i hit it against the corner of a table on the back which went right through where the motherboard is and then snapped it in half.
Lawrence Timme Ouch. Mine's slow too, it's crashed once but I barely use it now. I think the only good thing about it was the storage and the price, I got the 64GB model for £120 brand new.
I need to use the extended warranty I bought for it, I didn't spend £30 on it for no reason!
c0d3r3d i got the same deal. i rma'ed it once as well because the first one died within a year
Welcome back, Photon. Sorry to hear about all of the unpleasantness and craziness happening off-camera.
Thanks again for putting together a video where you build something. They're by far the best.
That makes a nice sound
Maaaaate, good to see you back,I echo the sentiments of others when I tell you I am sorry to hear about the shiatsu you've endured, your outlook on things,in spite of recent events is most admirable.
On a lighter note I just need a box of three phase,I mean three ply tissues and some time alone with that hummer of a power supply! I don't think you'll be saying "I ain't avinit" quite so much with that orgasmatron, just don't collapse the grid with it.Cheers fella :-)
[heavy breathing]
lol, smoking and running from room to room via 2 staircases:)
***** what can I do to learn all that shit without blowing myself up?
***** Photon has a porno voice XD
I wonder what UK Power Networks would think of this?! Super smart this chap is and I am dead envious of his knowledge and ability build such a machine.
Wonder if this can power my AMD PC lol.
pc runs on 6 and 12 volt. only problem if the setup cant provide a constant current.
Not a chance, especially if you want to run an FX9590 and a Radeon 295 X2.
Plus, you'll need the combined power of the AC unit in the One World Trade Center on top of that CPU just to get it below TJMax!
László Simon Magyarok mindenütt! :D
***** with the cooling off of the semiconductors from the LHC at CERN.
***** youre on a video for a 20,000 Watt Power Supply.
so sorry to hear about your loss but soo good to see you have still got your quirkiness
Finland flag spotted :P hi from finland o/
so ?
Glad to see you back. Beautiful job on your new power supply as well! Loved seeing the mercury arc rectifiers on your wall, maybe you could do a vid including them sometime, I love seeing them in action!
He did recently hope you saw it!
This is definitely what a living room is for!!
***** Hehehe
***** He does a neat/clean wiring job.
***** I love the remote controlled variac lol
The fact that you wired all that yourself means you must know what you're doing... you have more balls than most working with insane amounts of energy. Keep up the good fight mate
6:57 / 6:58 that expression is so funny
I dont comment much on anything, Andy, but I am very sorry for your loss, and the struggles you're going through in your private life. Keep your spirits up and focus on the good things, like amps, volts, those farad things and of course, jiggawatts! Love every vid you've ever done, and looking forward to many more. Cheers mate! (I think thats how it's meant, right?)
imagine this guy's electric bill
Riley Goss His experiments are usually short, so the electric bill is smaller than you think. It's not like he is running electrolysis 24/7
+CABAL Exactly. I will use more KW/hrs with my 3KW hot water cylinder running most the night on economy 7.
How do you even get that kind of plug run to your house?
Can't own guns but has a mini power plant in his house. ohhhh Europe lol
Holy Moly well guns are 1000x more dangerous than what he's made
N8 Smith If you weaponized 20,000 watts you could do a lot more damage than with a gun
tizoro3 ya do u think he can walk around with this in his pocket, Pull it out and shoot it a someone killing them instantly
N8 Smith You clearly didn't read what I said.
tizoro3 well there is no way he can carry this around
