Sounds like a great new engine, but will it be reliable over the long run? I'll stick with my 18' Gixxer, for 2 reasons, 1- I'll never use half of that extra race tech. 2- I cannot afford BMW parts or maintenance.
Yeah but bmw decided to call it the 2020 now for some reason. This is directly from bmws website. The 2019 still has the a symmetrical look. It's weird how they are doing this lol
Xiqy Cool story tough guy, but it probably depends where you live - they are in shops in the UK and many other countries so think before you run your mouth 👍🏻
Some interesting comments & perspectives. Does it fishtail under hard braking? Looking forward an indepth review of the DDC on track and on the street (plushness?)
Funny, hearing at this it seems the previous model was shit and now EVERYTHING is SO much better. I wonder why each year it´s the same with previous model.
100% - This guy was just repeating BMW’s narrative. I mean did ANYONE ever say the previous model’s brakes were too fierce? Now that BMW have moved away from Brembo and people had started to mutter “cost saving”, low and behold on the launch some journalists are trying to tell us that they actually wanted less braking force all along.... uh huh 🙄
Haha totally. I was wondering the same thing. The brakes comment is especially hilarious. Sounds like he's reading from a script. That said, it seems like a great bike. Looking forward to taking one for a rip when they start to show up over here!
@@Mockle07 ive seen alot of reviews of testers saying this is a fact some prefer the old for its instant break power and feel some prefer a much smoother and gradual breaking. The ladder keeps breaks cooler and allows less break heat in the fluids as some experts have pointed out.
@@ahkau4612 I would imagine there are extra precautions necessary. Good carbon fiber and resins are pretty damn tough though. The Brittains used them 25ish years ago and the 2 I have seen in museums looked fantastic still. Better than my 16 year old aluminum ones do.
@@BestRex The 2019 is the older gen with asymmetric lights and analog instrument panel. Don't believe me? See for yourself on BMW site: www.bmwmotorcycles.com/en/models/sport/s1000rr.html
Bullshit. Older bike is 2018 model. And this new one is 2019 model. Don't believe me? See for yourself on BMW site: www.bmw-motorrad.co.uk/en/models/sport/s1000rr-2019.html

I agree. I'll keep my 2008 zx10r. Only 16k miles and I got it dirt cheap. Probably wont use it to it's full potential and it's way more reliable
1:46 wheelie control 😳
But at that height and able to hold it up like that under full power, doubt it!
That is with wheelie control turned off. Wheelie control helps keep your front wheel on the ground.
It's a 2019 bike. I already sat on it at the local BMW dealer

It is 2019! Mentioned in the video 2X 2020 S 1000RR. Did I zone for a year? ;-)))
2020 !! It's gonna be 2020

2020?
The new S1000RR does not have HP4 Carbon wheels from ThyssenKrupp, but Carbon wheels from Carbotech Austria.🤘🤪
S1000 looking sweet in those colors.

ROKUGAN you never hear the truth about the last model till the new one shows up!

Better looking headlights. Those wheels are badass, Hp numbers are good, should be a hell of a ride!
Any maintenance issues on those carbon wheels? What happens if they get chipped when changing tyres?

I hope this BMW keeps or even improves on the top end these beast are known for.
Freaking Sick! I can’t wait to ride that machine!
Why 205 in the US?
Noise regulations?
Just because they can.
“Estriol” 😆
So I guess it was false advertisement when they announced live from BMW Motorrad
Finally! Someone uses the correct title of 2020 and not 2019. Thank you
What? Lol you're living in the wrong year mate.
@@alexevans2830 This bike in this video is the new 2020 model NOT the 2019.
Oh, really? How does the 2019 S1000RR looks than?

I’d be fine with a 2015 still, looks badass though
Good short review. Can’t wait to put it against the Rsv4factory and the V4R.
People are saying it has a massive flat spot
yes, look th-cam.com/video/4pRioM_xpRI/w-d-xo.html

Yes my come in june 2019 ! BUT IT STILL GONNA BE A 2020 MODEL !!
What’s up with the shitty tires ? No more Supercorsas ? Wtf
is it quick?
Dancing Squid nahhhhh
I still like the older style more for some reason I’m not digging the new look. I still love bmw though.
I agreed. I have a 15 and looking at the 2020 it looks boring in comparison. It looks like Honda made this for them 😂
Dorian Gonzales Music oh dam lol I was just looking at a Honda I kinda dig it lol but I think I am going to stick with the 2012 and up s1000rr
H2 only was the fastest for 1 year and just like that s1000rr is KING AGAIN. 🔝💯
You know it's a dud when the first accolade concerns the blipper. Keep your old S1000.
Bet the guys that bought a 2019 are happy.
Estriol?? 🤦♂️ It’s pronounced just how it’s spelled. ES-TOR-IL
They really done so
They are not the hp4 (guess you mean race) carbon wheels.
Say it with me 2019
Now it looks like a Honda CBR
Want less bite? What are you smokin dude?
2019*
A bIke from the future.
Yea!!!! They finally got rid of those ugly headlights!
Bajk vikend schou
Build quality is still crap. Look at that subframe. Haha welding apprentices can do better welds.

Am I the only one that thinks this bike doesnt look as good? the tail is ugly, the lack of shark fins make it look tame and boring.
I like the symmetrical lights but agree about the fins
