I might wrap it OR I may do 4 large Bantu knots OR, if the curls are in pretty good, I might just pull it all up to my crown (pineapple) and secure it loosely with a scrunchy. Honestly, it depends on the ‘mood’ of my hair. ☺️ That being said, you’ll find what works best for you, too. Just have fun with the process. 🌺
You also can use oil sheen on the ends, to protect the ends from dryness. I use sponge rollers all the time, for body ,and I massage the scalp every other night before re- rolling

Hi! I used Chi Keratin Flexi-hold Spray. It’s a very light holding spray. I bought it from TJ Maxx but you can probably find it at several other stores also.
Does anyone have any advice on preventing breakage with sponge rollers? I love curls on my natural hair but I’m scared that I will lose hair over time because I always find short sprigs of hair at my crown. I like the traditional sponge (not the satin) but I always use end wraps. I am afraid of hair loss from tension alopecia. Any advice on how to enjoy sponge rollers with minimal damage?
Hi! Oh my, I can imagine the traction alopecia is a challenge to live with. The only thing I can think of is not securing the clasp too close to your root. You can still get a nice curl without putting the roller too close. 🌻
Hi Princess -- I'm sorry for the delayed reply. I don't use anything special. Of course, I've used oils and serums in the past and I've liked them a lot. I can't say for sure though if they 'grew' my hair. I will say though, I deep condition regularly -- mostly every week. I don't use a lot of heat, and I never go to bed without putting a scarf of bonnet on. I think it's a combination of things like that that really help me retain length. :)
