That was just a barrel of fun, or maybe a conch shell full of fun! Aren’t those adventure like riding in the rain in amazing places the memories we cherish , talk about and giggle to ourselves about like they’re our little secrets the best of the best of times? It was nice to see you relaxing and enjoying your day even though you’d thought you were gonna do something. The Keys has that effect on us. Oh, hey, thanks for pronouncing Bahia Honda correctly. As Floridians it’s always sweet to hear visitors learn it correctly. Your tacos looked delicious…bet there were margaritas to be had as well 😉 safe travels.
The Keys did have a relaxing effect on us. I agree that sometimes when things don’t work out like you expect are the best memories. Thanks so much for your comment.
Awesome! I love the blowing of the Conch's in thanks for another beautiful day... so nice. also.. LOVEd the bridge bike ride in the rain and hail. . . poor Maggie - just got to liking the bike rides and now she was like "WHAAAAT was THAT all about!??!" hahahaha. also - I knew there was gonna be a happy dance as soon as I saw the key lime pie! good stuff. I'm so glad you got to enjoy your week in paradise! it looked so relaxing!
It was such a relaxing stay… I think the Keys does that to us for some reason. I love the blowing of the Conch too, it’s a great tradition. Thanks so much for watching.
Wow, beautiful sunrise! We never found Key Lime pie in Key West. None of the restaurants had it that we went to. Only saw dipped key lime pie on a stick. Didn't want my key lime pie on a stick. Love watching sweet Maggie!
That is really strange that you never found Key Lime Pie in the Keys. We saw it everywhere. I don’t think I would want a dipped key pie on a stick either.
What a great Sunday morning, I've had! First, watching Robert hike the Black Hills of South Dakota; then lollygagging with you at Bahia Honda in the Keys! Loved the episode, especially the tropical music - I've got a Caribbean Soul I can barely control (J. Buffett). What a fabulous campsite!
Wow! Stunning sunsets, great views and island vibes. Looks like you had the perfect time. You looked like a couple of teenagers having the time of their life. I really enjoyed this and hope to get there someday. Maggie really was a trooper on the back of the bike during the ride. Thanks for the twenty two minutes of sunshine. I could smell the beach. Well, I actually work at the beach so it wasn't that hard to smell it.😁
Thank you for taking me back to my favorite place in the Keys. It’s been many years since I lived in FL but was able to travel and camp in the Keys so many times because of snorkeling and scuba diving. Maggie’s face when that wet bike ride was over was priceless. So glad you enjoyed your stay there. That new portion facing the Atlantic looks absolutely wonderful, and nothing beats a sunrise at the ocean - the colors explode into the sky and the peace/serenity that comes off that water can’t be measured.
Wow what a beautiful spot to camp in. Beautiful music to. It made me feel like I was in Hawaii. That was a nice bike ride and sad you couldn’t take Maggie to the beach where it says no pets aloud. I know Maggie loves the water. Hope you had a nice time on the bike ride.
Thank you for this magnificent video. We love Maggie so very much and the love you show her. We do the same for our Newfoundland, Grace. Can't put her in a basket with her big self. Have to come up with some idea for her. She's our daughter. Trying to convince hubby for a Florida snowbird getaway. Hope to see ya in a campground one day. Happy travels and God Bless to you three.
Winter’s are the best time to visit Florida. We do consider Maggie our daughter too. We do love being able to take Maggie on bike rides and she loves it to.
You have experienced Florida at it's finest! Put down the camera and just enjoy, even getting soaked in the rain will create great memories. Thank you for taking us along. Happy tails and safe travels.
I didn’t mind getting soaked in the rain either, it is Florida at it’s best… One minutes it’s pouring the rain and the next the sun is out. Thanks so much for following along.
🚩Owen, what a wonderful video and thank you. I've served my country🇺🇸 and traveled the world and unfortunately I never made it to Florida Keys and regret it. Due to health reasons I'm no longer able to travel that far. I sincerely thank you for sharing this. You really don't know how you helped an old soldier see my dream like I always wanted to see it. God Bless you both and safe travels. I'm always watching 👍👍
Owen read your comment the day you wrote it and It put a big smile on both of our faces… but I’m (Lynn) is just now responding to it. I can’t tell you how much your comment means to us that we were able to capture the keys in a way that you were able to visualize just how beautiful it really is. Thank you for your service and we would love to meet you one day.
Juanita knew those buoys were going to make it in the van. She spotted the coquina rock in the back too. She got excited about that!!!! Lynn, you are a lot like Juanita as she picks up sticks, rocks, buoys, or anything collectible. The sunrise and sunset pics were awesome. We were so excited that you guys got to spent so much time at Bahai Honda. Floridas greatest state park! ❤️
That rock mean a lot… it comes from a special place from two very special people. I love picking up pieces of the places we visit just as a reminder of all the wonderful memories we make. Florida is a great state?
Wow and that sunset is an amazing moment. Thank you for making the great paradise video. Maggie loves the bike ride in the rain amd you could tell she’s happy with a smile. Enjoy your journey. Hope to see more happy moments from Alex and Orly.
That is an amazing state park. It's definitely on my bucket list. Glad y'all had a great time, and can't wait to see where you go next! Give Maggie a good scratch for me! 😁

Hi to you all we spent the day there no camping available but saw a beautiful sunset 👍 we were at the KOA mile marker 20 for 2 weeks in January and saw many sunrises and sunsets in the keys they are Beautiful 🏝️👍

I bet you pinch yourself a lot… we always enjoy all the great photo’s you share. Let us know if you head back to the SW and we’ll try to meet you some where. Safe travels.
So cool ! You guys finally got in there. We had a house in Marathon until Hurricane Irma took it away. It certainly is one of the best places in our great country.
Great episode! Loved going on the wet bike ride with you. Bahia Honda is amazing. You were standing almost exactly where I took my bathroom mural photo with the bridge and the palm trees and the blue water. I understand the buoys for your dock at home. You need to keep bit of this place with you. Peace & Prayers.
That comes in handy with having an outdoor shower that you can use for giving Maggie a bath or washing your feet off from mud or sand. Chicken tacos yummy! Love chicken tacos.
That bike ride on the old Seven Mile Bridge brought back memories, but they sure weren't fond memories. In 1975 when my dad and I drove to Key West it still carried the highway, and it was 7 miles of white-knuckled terror! Absolutely no margin for error on those narrow lanes. The worst part was that the relief you felt at the end of it was quickly replaced with the knowledge that you had to do it again going back! We did love that Bahia Honda beach, the white sand and clear blue water were such a change from our Texas Gulf Coast beaches.
Sounds like it was adventure going to the keys in the 70’s. Now it’s a beautiful drive, but I can’t even imagine driving a car on the bike path you took.
If y'all are looking for shelling? Try Sanibel Island. Yes it was a direct hit from Ian but the shelling is even more spectacular! I grew up a 10 minute boat ride away from Boca Grand Pass and I'll tell you it was and always will be the world's best shelling beach. They don't call it the Sanibel stoop for no reason, lol. Things are open to the public now but it's still a bit messy but the beaches are always beautiful there. Grew up on Pine Island just across Pine Island Sound.
There were some people swimming at the other beach areas in the park. But for us the water was pretty cold and there were man o’ war and jellyfish in the water which is enough for me not to get in the water.

Not waterfront, but it was still a wonderful stay. The section you stayed in was still under construction. So glad to see that open now. Do they have a walkway from the campsites down to that beach? The last time we were there the no-seeuums were the worst we’ve ever experienced. The best Key Lime Pie we’ve found is at Blue Heaven in Key West and Roostica’s on Stock Island a block from Boyd’s RV Park
