- Building a Fireproof Safe pt. 1 - • Building a Fireproof S...
To finish building the safe, I make a few last minute modifications before getting the safe powder coated. I build wood shelves for the interior of the safe and wrap them in a velvet cloth. Lastly, Kelly designs and hand paints the front of the safe.
Welcome back, looking forward to seeing your fresh craftsmanship.
If you ever get robbed, the robbers will hopefully appreciate the craftsmanship once they open the safe.
Man, you can’t imagine how much I missed the vibe of your videos! ❤ great to see that you’re back
He was very happy to see you back. It's been a long 10 months of waiting. I hope you'll be able to bring us new videos more often. Congratulations on your work and inspiration.
We sure miss your metal work and farming videos.
This is so refreshing to see someone take time to do something right. Taking time on the welds, powder coating instead of a quick spray paint, velvet, hand painted decals. It could have been done in 1/4 of the time with someone hurrying, but it's refreshing to see someone get all of the details right. Looks amazing, great job.
I was actually worried that something happened to you m8! Hope you are well and everything's fine. Keep up the great work
I'm pretty sure I've seen more of him via cameo's on Bourbon Moth's channel than I've seen him on his own channel the past year or so. I was getting a bit curious what led to the hiatus but very happy he put out some content and that (on the surface at least) all appears well. I know life gets in the way and TH-cam likely feels like a second full- time job so I can't fault him for not slamming out a video every other week. I need to remind myself that unlike many TH-camrs this isn't his day job so I'll just be happy with what he offers whether that is one video a week or one a year. Either way it is always great content featuring amazing craftsmanship and I've never been disappointed.
@@Phormifyhe is a farmer by trade, so this time of year is normally when he puts out videos and the rest of the year it’s the farm life
The last gap between uploads was one week shy of a year! A few months is to be expected.
These videos of yours give me something to look forward to. I’ve missed them. I know I’m not the only one.
I KNEW IT!! See my comments a couple years ago about the way K looked in your vids. Congrats
One of the most creativ TH-camr that i saw is him
Piece of art with the whole family effort. ❤
We missed you
Great to see you back JD! And congrats to you both 🥰
I’ve been having a really hard time at work for the last few months and even had to work over Christmas and new years, this last week or two your videos have provided a place of solace and refuge for me and I have been binging all your past projects again, thank you for all of your content 👍🏻
Good to see a new video. The safe is gorgeous and I'm so happy the velvet shelfs worked out because it's amazing. Side note I'm sad we live so far away because me and my friends need more wingspan buddies ;)
Ah yes! Harvest season is coming to an end, rainfall videos are back on the menu!
Whatever you put in it, I'd want to steal this safe.
YES! #lockpickinglawyer absolutely needs to have a look at this one!
Welcome back! I see why you have been missing. Very nice to see you and the child working together.
Gotta say, making a preliminary toolpath to mark out safe spots to put pin nails to secure your workpiece is inspired genius and I'm unashamedly stealing that!
Welcome back brother! We missed you out here
Glad you are back. Hope you had a great farming season. I was wondering when you would have a child! She is adorable! Congratulations!
Same - what a sweet surprise!
Wooop! Welcome back
Welcome back! Stick around for awhile please!
Nice work as always! Good to see you & Kelly once again, and your assistant is adorable. Thanks for sharing!
Welcome back Justin! We missed you! Nice job as always!
Long time no see bud….great too see you back 👏👏👏🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
When I first started to watch you… you were a young guy. Man… time goes fast.
Yay, you're back!! I am looking forward to your content.
Yesssss Rainfall is back LET’S GOOOOOOO👏🏻
Interesting I was watching a video about a safe that had been in a fire. TH-cam then recommended your part 1 video which it said was posted a year ago. I was surprised that part 2 was only posted yesterday. Talk about timing!
Good see you back. I had to go back in time to jog my memory on this build.
Glad to see you back!
I always love your attention to detail throughout the process of everything you do! Like how you marked out the safe locations to shoot hold-down nails on the CNC. Such a good little idea!
Yeah, that's brilliant. On my laser cutter I use magnets to hold material to the honeycomb below. I usually run a pass at 1% power and just eyeball where it will be ok to put the magnets, but maybe I should have it mark some circles on the best places.
So glad you are back!
Thank-you for coming back! We appreciate you 👊🏼
Saw the thumbnail and thought "hey that looks like a cool ass fridge". Then I read the title lol
If you want the stuff in your safe to survive a fire...put out the fire. It doesnt matter that the fire doesn't touch the inside contents. House fires get so hot they just combust everything inside the safe regardless of wether or not the fire touches it. Still a very nice safe though! Just dont expect anything inside to survive a fire.
Good to see ya back.
Ben a minute, glad to see you back.
Welcome back, I have been missing your videos
Aww yisss! You're back!!! Although if that safe is ever in a fire, I hope that velvet doesn't melt!!!
Great to see you back, hope you had a good year :)
I've searched your channel several times looking for s new upload assuming TH-cam was trying to keep me from enjoying your videos. Glad to see you back
Great to see you again
Always enjoy your videos, thanks!
Kelly has such a steady hand and the safe looks beautiful. So nice to see your daughter helping out. The artistry goes on… 🙏🏼

where do you go lol I love your videos. all good I know how hard it is to balance work and family and I can't even comprehend throwing great content in between all that keep up the great work
It's always great to see new content and your little helper is an absolute doll. I would love to see what you have been up to on the farm. I miss those videos. Great job on the safe. In
Not to take away from your welding and fab skills but the paint job really makes that thing gorgeous!
nice to see an other video from you chap....
peace
Glad to see you back and fabricating again!😊
The king has returned!
Always great to see another Rainfall video, thank you. Lockpicking lawyer corssover would be too much for me to handle...
Indeed!! I’ve been looking for something from Rainfall Projects for months now…. I got hooked on watching your channel but noted the gap in productions. Chalked it up to harvest time and farm chores and hoped that as winter approached, there would be more videos. Glad to see you’re back at it and hoping for more. High Regards!!
daaaamn you're back , just yesterday checked your channel to see if I'm missing anything 😂
Finally, summer is over and we get more Rainfall Projects!👍👍
Justin!! He’s back!!
Fun project! The velvet lined shelves are a really classy touch and the paint job is absolutely stunning. Nice to have the whole family in on this one. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful work guys!
I really like your channel! So laid back and chill.
Can't remember part 1, but I'll watch part 2 anyways!
Farming-season is over and making stuff is back on the menu!
Jeez oh pete, what equipment, what tools!
Well worth the wait, good to see you back, hope life is treating you well.
I missed your videos. 🤗
Another great video. Thank you.
So happy to see a new video from you! I've been watching your videos for years and today was the day I realized your face is a cross between Viggo Mortenson and Tom Brady.
Crazy how many missed and appreciate your content mate you're doing something special here 🤙
Your last video inspired me to take on building my own safe. 6' tall x 6' wide x 4' deep. Its almost big enough to hold my sling shot collection. lol
welcome back so glad to see this vidéo.
Awesome fabrication and craftsmanship….thanks for sharing
I was just wondering where you've been few days ago, good to see you again!
Congrats on the family.
Great finish
Great job, especially the aesthetics. And you're littlest helper is adorable. :)
I'm sure you have a life outside of YT but good to see you back. You always make very nice and entertaining videos! I'll take em when I can get em!
It’s an early Christmas!!!
so happy to see a new video!
I see we stick to similar upload schedules. Great to see this project finished!
Babe wake up there’s a new rainfall projects video
What a wonderful antique for your great grandchildren!
just a wee gap between P1 and P2 ; ) ....glad to see your videos regardless though. Thanks!
Great to see another video form you...... always super enjoyable
That safe is incredible and the style is timeless. I can already predict the kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids arguing over who gets it many decades from now when it is passed along from one generation to the next. If my father or grandfather had built something like this I know I'd gladly offer the rights to whatever valuables are stored in it to my siblings if it meant I could keep the safe itself. This is truly a one-of-a-kind heritage and legacy piece. Beautiful work.
I can't speak to the level of security the safe offers, but truthfully most safes are more than enough of a deterrent to the common thief who is looking for an easy score. I think being able to lock up important documents, passports, birth certificates etc. along with a handgun and ammunition that you want to ensure is safely out of the reach of the little one is a great use for it. The fact it can withstand a fire is a nice benefit (although hopefully that ability is never tested).
There are only two negatives I can see. First - the thing obviously weighs a ton so that makes it difficult to move (although farmers don't tend to move often... so that likely isn't a real problem). The weight does add to the security since nobody can easily run off with it, so maybe that first negative is somewhat negated. The second negative is that the safe is a bit TOO attractive. In theory, a safe should be kept hidden and out of sight, but in this case hiding it in a closet or behind a fake panel would be a disservice. This thing deserves to be on display... thus I agree it will make a nice side table.
10/10 - liked it so much I'd even sit through a Scorsese-like three hour director's cut of the build!
Welcome back :)) I missed seeing your videos
I was enjoying looking at your game selection. Welcome back.
Welcome back! I hope the harvest was bountiful, can't wait for the winter bounty of project videos!
Your barn is going to outlast you as well, I think...
I just finished binging all of your projects again a couple weeks ago, had a feeling you’d be back again soon!
Finally back!
Miss you!
Fantastic job 👍
WELCOME BACK 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Purple would be my choice. Great job...
