I use a similar build except I use the golden ritual spear in my offhand and the saints bident in my main hand. I also often use farron flashsword to combo with pokes from either spear

@@TumbaTyson depends how you wanna play it, usually 2-3 attunement slots are perfectly fine. I usually run soul greatsword, homing soulmass and great soul arrow.

1. Miracles
2. Pyromancy
3. Sorcery
but overall I still just like melee a lot more in general
I've been running a mage build for a while using the Immolation Tinder and have been loving it. Recently picked up the cleric's candlestick and have been having alot of fun with it also even tho it's pretty bad it's still a straight sword plus spells. Next logical step is the Heysel Pick. I've been avoiding it cuz fashion souls is the real end game. You must have posted this for me, Adam. You're forcing me to make this raggedy pickaxe look sexy.

I actually think it looks fucking cool AF. I mean think about how badass this thing is.
It's a conduit of magical energy , a functional wand, and of all the things to weaponize, they chose a pick to do it.
Having a weapon intended to crush stone, ice~ etc, isn't usually the kind of thing you find in Hogwarts.
Definitely try it- it's a more aggressive version of the immolation tinder from my experience.

Chase's builds are 90% of the time complete shite, too much focus on one and not the other with too little versatility
This is a build because it delves in deoth into the aspects of the build one by one, not just a menu screen at the begginingor end of the video with numbers and gear

@@vivecald-vehk6978 and yet hes pvp skill is unquestionable and his versatility is in spacing against all weapons with nearly all weapons and he still is able to implement many tech. that are hard to train yet even harder to actually DO mid fight... You have to give the dude the credit for theese things like it or not
I have still yet to have to Int run. I've done strength, dex, pyromancy, fist, bow and quality runs. You've given me an idea for a build that uses magic. Very epic

@@BbNaB I went with Assassin because my stats were going to be spread out but still dex int focused it works out perfectly. The useless stat is luck which is the very low for the classes at 10
Watching this video I get the impression that maybe it is better to roll when your opponent's attack comes out, than in anticipation of the next attack. Dunno.
Those mix-ups were sweet and juicy, I love this setup.

I love this weapon its so good and fun. I just hate how much stamina you need in order to use it effectively. LET ME BE AGGRESSIVE WITH 15 END LIKE IN BLOODBORNE!

@@AdamBarkerThe it really doesn't seem fair. I can be very aggressive with 15 END when using the Demon's scar or even a claymore. But this weapon in particular really needs 30 MINIMUM if you have an offensive playstyle. It might just be the Bloodborne in me but leveling endurance almost always feels like wasted stats. But I shouldn't be complaining I love ultras and they're definitely stamina hogs.
@@danger_noodle1246 my rule of thumb is >SL 60, 15-20 endurance is acceptable but above 60, 25 endurance minimum. But yeah, RIP base endurance builds
@@willysmithereens I actually use base endurance builds at meta and above constantly. You can be surprisingly aggressive with 15-20 endurance and most weapons don't need any more than that to function. The amount of spare levels you get from ignoring endurance is really enticing and for the most part very worth it.
@@danger_noodle1246 oo gotcha. Part of me believes in having that extra bit endurance as a precaution but I also primarily run strength (or dark builds with big weapons, I guess) builds and BKGA is my favorite so I love stamina lol
I like how this build emphasizes that there is NO escape. Once you get it, its over. You can try to roll away but that Soul Greatsword will sweep with such a wide area that you aint leaving this world alive.
Can if you don't roll immediately, people panic roll and then get smacked.

Dipping my feet into sorcery in DS3, as the weapon/catalyst hybrids are so cool. Can’t believe nothing of the sort is in elden ring. I got referred here by someone on Reddit who recommended the heysel pick to me, I knew you could true combo with it, i didn’t realize just how good it was though!
ya it is super underappreciated! I recommend you check out saint riot's channel as he loves using this weapon after he watched this video.
Several months later I'm still PICKING up mass amounts of humanity. 11/10 guide, sold me on a junk item I never used before.

mane i used to be so against sorcery builds but this bad boy changed my mind, the fact that it combos into an asston of spells outside of soul gs is really cool, heysel pick build is definitely superior than pure sorcery

Zanemob Hammers kick ass. 53 poise break on most o’ them and plenty of damage, i think the only turn off is the stagger animation if they miss.

Your crazy edited videos are outstanding, but these simpler montages are so nostalgic. They remind of the content that got me into this series in the first place.
This is reminds me of my "sword and board" mage build. Black Knight shield and Hazel's pick with Great Magic Shield, Farron Flashsword, and Soul Greatsword as my main spells.
It's not as optimized as this build, but Hazel's pick is SO good.
Edit: Autocorrect on my phone does not like Heysel.
That host and 3 phantoms were really chill. Not afraid to duel straight and fair, and a couple actually got good hits in.
I greatly enjoy the Rose of Ariandel with the Saint Bident for similar reasons.
This is hands down the coolest build I've ever seen, I'm a sucker for dual wielding builds but I've never seen such a versitile one

I had a build like this a long time ago with the heysel pick and the greatlance, but I didn’t use it much because i couldn’t get it to combo into spells unless it was two handed, even when it was in my offhand. Now that i know for sure that it still true combos in the offhand im gonna go try this build again, because the idea by itself was disgusting and this vid makes it seem even more disgusting. Vortexes are my favorite thing to use in any of my builds, and this with soul greatsword is great, thanks for showing me it! I made a whole build based around vortexing with knockdowns, using the paired greatswords, demon fists, and pyromancies like profaned flame and seething chaos. My game plan was to bait a roll with the paired greatswords weapon art, cancel it with a backstep, and then rollcatch the person with another weapon art or a running attack, leading into either another wa if i landed a running attack (L1 running attacks true combo into the weapon art), or an R2 knockdown if i landed a weapon art by itself. Then i just kept vortexing with knockdown spells or the demon fists until the person died. It was really fun.
This is what I've wanted out of my spellblade build for a while now, having off-classed into pyro for claw. Now I'll have to give heysel's a try!

Something cool about the build is that you have a bunch of different swing speeds on the Murakumo-Heysel pick combo. You have slow, wide swings from Murakumo, average speed from Heysel, and if you attune it, pretty fast with the Farron flash sword. I might try this build at lower sl.

I’ve been using this setup for a few days now (mostly w/Gotthards) and I have to say I don’t think I’ll ever go back to using any other form of Heysel mage build again. 1000+ damage pseudos for days :D

I have a Heysel pick build but I do not have the cast speed with it to unlock the potential that you have. I’ll probably make a modified version that can do these combos. It is so amazing how you can find a quirk with any weapon and create unique ideas and combos with them. Awesome stuff!

The poise is real with the pick. It true combos into alot as well. I made a build where I used the pick and Pyro true combo into the black flame. It was devastating. Hella dmg.

Damn this build is absolutely fantastic. I never made a caster build before, but boy is this a blast to use. I still make the mistake of pressing L2 too often due to muscle memory of a off-hand estoc.

Just made a build with this , I rock the evangelist chest piece , sage hat , and millwood gauntlets and leggings ( looks baller as a battle mage ) and I use a crystal infused wooden mallet with Heysel pick in the off hand , Hammer R1, Pick Wack , and Soul greatsword true combo !

I always wanted to make a haysel pick build, but was never really a fan of two handing hammers. Never thought to offhand it before! Which is great because I LOVE dual wielding builds (some of my favorite are astora GS + gotthard and halberd + lothric ss)

Just FYI you can pull this off at lower SLs by using Flashsword with a mainhand Kumo. Since it always casts at max speed when used as part of a combo you don’t need Dex or sage ring, you don’t need to spec for Attunement or use more than one Blue flask since it uses next to no FP, and you still get awesome combos like kumo R1-L1 Flashsword into kumo R1 rollcatch, rinse and repeat. Or Kumo R1-L1 Jump attack rollcatch, etc. Such a good weapon.
