  • How I removed nail polish stains from Granite and Quartz countertops. Acetone literally dissolved it on contact. My countertop showed no damage from the Acetone, but each slab is composed differently, and you may experience different results, so be careful. Test any cleaner on an inconspicuous area, such as the bottom edge of the countertop. I’m not an expert, just a guy that likes DIY!

I love to see you do this test on a white Piedrafina counter top with a 3 day nail polish stain.

    Hi,
Just wanted to let you know 2 things I discovered recently. For stain residue apply paint thinner and then sprinke Bars Keepers Powder on top. Rub it in and then it's back to new. I used it for sharpie marker stains.
The second one is the Makita plunge saw with the Rail the 110 inch one it does the 45 degree and is straight cut. It works like the $3,000. proffesional saw.
Thanks for your advice the other day, it went well.

Thanks for the info with the bar keepers. Didn’t realize they have a powder. I’ll test it out. That plunge saw looks sweet! I could use that for several upcoming projects!

    Hi,
Your videos are really good. I was watching your $41 diy how to cut a countertop video. I usually cut for round sinks but I have a square sink like your video and wanted to do the corner. The thing is that on minute 2:54 when you are getting to the corner you cut the video. How did you cut the corner? Do you have other video the shows the corner cutting?
    Thank You!!

Hi, thank you! I cut by dragging the angle grinder in the corners until it was the right size. But the better way is to use a diamond hole saw in each corner first, then cut the sides with the angle grinder. Check out my video on how to make faucet holes. That hole saw would work perfectly.

    Hi there,
Enjoy your videos and thank you for them. I'm struggling between quartz and granite (my first choice is quartz for various reasons) however I didn't think you could put acetone on quartz. Is there a special treatment on the quartz you use and that is why acetone didn't damage yours?
