In coastal areas with extreme dryness, like near the Middle East, think introducing mangroves could help change the hydrological cycles. They'd be easy enough to remove as the inland areas regreen.
I think it's likely that mangroves were in the Middle East/Northern Africa long ago. It's their removal that turned the Sahara into a sandpit..

I urged everyone to just read early church conquest against native European ( so called pagon) .... You will find one thing common that natives had this nice kind of coexistence with nature, worshipped nature then came barbaric abhrahmic cults and promoted " nature is for mankind to exploit" .

Dear ecosia, and Fatima! Loved this video. I’m from India too.
I would like to give you an advice, in India, a banyan tree is considered very sacred, and is rarely chopped down due to the belief that it’s home to god. Plus as you may know, banyan trees can spread big, and live long. Would love if you could help the communities india and world wide grow banyan trees

Banyan trees take a really long time! The timeline is measured in decades and even centuries! Fruit trees, especially the ones well suited tropical ones are much better suited in this case as the families stand to benefit financially, really quick and also on an ongoing basis.

Why does industry dump untreated industrial waste into the holy rivers? Why are timber mafias allowed to carry on with near impunity? I love India, I’ve been around 20 times, but lets be honest, nature and environment isn’t respected and there’s remarkably little awareness over such issues.

Wow Thank you Ecosia for showing these. We here in India have different relation to trees. We have a different season for rain Monsoons, which to my knowledge only present in India. But the last 50 years have been very brutal, deforestation, commercial mining, climate change and rising sea level has taken the Sundarbans for a hit. Also these wisdoms by Malati di and Debashis da were generally common sense earlier, but as we become more urban driven, we are really forgetting what plants & trees can do for us.
Its just recenly when planting or "bagan bari" has become a fashion here in Bengal. Many elderly people after retiring are growing trees or plants in their house as a part time hobby. We have also started distributing trees, saplings, plants in schools so that there is a lot of awareness of what is what. A single man cannot change our world but the whole mankind has to come together. Thank u for highlighting the good work ❤

That is the real key: "These people here are not just coworkers. They're actual friends."
People really seem to underestimate the power that friendships and communities have to get things done in the west, because I think everyone's trying to separate themselves from work and hence each other.
As mentioned in the video, they're all personally invested (not talking about money here!) in the project and they care deeply about it hence their work is thorough and therefore better!

After watching the video it is clear that Malati-di has a lot of love for just everyone which includes the trees. And it is simply that love which the trees receive which helps them grow and survive. We can give it scientific reasoning but putting it simply this is how it is.
