    I got this amp for messing around at home and doing rehearsals with friends, its surprisingly loud and can definitely pack a great sound, after a few weeks the speakers started sounding a lot less boxy and its just sounds so good after you make each preset your own.

      @landenmurphy916 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey man I’m considering getting this amp for a few shows in small bars and stuff do you think this will be loud enough for them, my band is pretty much just back ground noise and I have a 200 watt Marshall but it’s way to big to play there. My friend has a 50 watt amp and it barely has that thing turned up. So is this amp pretty loud and will it work or should I get something else.

      I get worried about purchasing this amp because of the "muffled" sound some people explain it having do you think that's more of a problem on their end for not dialing it in correctly?

    • @sebasgrundy
      @sebasgrundy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That it's loud it is, but, due to its 4-inch speakers:
      1. It don't have much bass and body (very boxy)
      2. It doesn't reach 40w, it sounds more like a 20w amp

    I drive truck and take my guitar and this amp in my sleeper berth… that’s why I bought it and if you have to play in an apartment it will not piss off the neighbours. I had a THR 10 and I like the versatility of the LT40. It sounds plenty big enough for practice in my opinion.

    Wow the Fender clean was great ! Actually a lot of the presets are great and for the money its amazing. Forty watts is plenty loud enough (for even the biggest bedroom lol). I think you hit the nail right on the head. You compared this to the SPARK amp. I looked at the SPARK amp. It sells for $289. I looked at this. It sells for $230. Both have a couple of 4 inch speakers inside. Both are 40 watts. Both are about the same size. The SPARK amp sold a lot of amps last year. I was tempted to buy one myself. The SPARK amp has all these great sounding effects. Apparently, so does this the Fender LT40. They will be selling this in stores whereas the SPARK must be ordered from SPARK. I bet the retailers asked them to have something to compete with the SPARK. So - they copied it. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Brian May should be flattered by your playing. Stay warm.

    I play clean (twang, surf, Ventures, and similar) but still appreciate your General imrpessions and enjoy watching you play. The LT40s has a gate, the Metal Gate, which is fast and kills the noise even at the lowest setting. The LT25 is no doubt better value but the LT40s is for me, a near-perfect desktop low volume practice amp. What some may describe as a boxy sound, my impression is that the sound of the LT40s is more focused and full sounding in a low volume situation. The Bright Princeton preset which is available for audition in the desktop application really has the classic Fender clean tone which sounds great with a Strat or Tele. Bottom line, I enjoy the range of Fender blackface and tweed amps that LT40s provides. Cheers!

    • @graphicsilence2269
      @graphicsilence2269 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Dan Pugatch When I compared the LT25 and LT40S in the store, I also had the impression that LT25 sounded distant. Having said that if my only option was to get the LT25 as a practice amp that would have been ok. I'm still happy with the LT40S which I've set up with a handful of classic Fender amp presets (50s Twin, BF Twin, Deluxe, Princeton, etc.) with reverb, tremolo or delay, very stripped down clean tones ranging from glassy to warm and fat.

    I found the Fender LT40S sound boxy when I was last in a guitar store testing it the LT25 ( £149 pounds here in the UK) has a bigger speaker sounds better but no bluetooth who needs that anyway, checking prices now BOSS Katana 50 £239 pounds here and the Fender LTS40 is £209 . 30 pounds more you get a much better amp, the one I like Elmo you tested it is the Marshall DSL1CR 1W 1x8 Valve Combo with Reverb that's £248 pounds and it has a FX Loop , my choice is the Marshall which can also be dropped to .1 watt and you can hook an external speaker to it, for folks like myself living in a flat the .1 watt is perfect , as always Elmo great and honest reviews !

    I agree. If you want more of a real amp, the LT50 (which is just 50 bucks more) is the better choice, it's a real 1x12 combo, and should worksto seriously piss off the neighbors. And for a small practice amp the LT25 should work just as well, don't think that 40 watts into 2x4 are really a benefit over 25 watts into 1x8. And from what I have read the other internals are pretty similar.

    How on earth, or under heaven is mono going 2beat stereo?
    I just have no clue. Baffled.

    Meanwhile u guyz are all sold on 1mono speaker?

    I think you are missing the point of the amp by comparing it to combo and tube amps? It is a desktop amp designed to take little space, sitting on the table and like Fender says, ideal for jamming and practicing. The benefit for this type of amp is that because you have smaller frfr speakers, playing music or backing tracks through this doesn't sound bad.
    This should be compared against thr, katana air, spark (which you mentioned), dual cube lx, etc.
    Also I don't understand why you don't show or comment on the quality of the app as well. If you review a product, why not review the whole product.

    I own a Fender Mustang V Head and use it with headphones only (small child in house) but want to get a cab. Do you think I should just get a cab (like the Harley Benton with V30's) or should I go for a valve amp like the Bugera Infinium (that has a detachable speaker cable that I can plug into the Mustang). I don't play live, but sometimes I feel the need to actually hear the amp. Thank you.

    I was surprised by the addition of the 40W version... The LT-25 was pretty loud, the 8" speaker was decent, and I couldn't think of any reasons why you'd want a more expensive LT-25 with 2 smaller drivers just for a bit extra wattage.
    When I upgraded my LT-25 I moved up to the GTX100. Sure, it's overkill, but I don't think I'll be needing anything capability-wise beyond the GTX100 and that 12" Celestion driver really sings... I did see a youtube video where a guy took his LT-25 and dropped a new 8" Celestion driver in it, and it changed it immensely. The stock LT-25 was good, the LT-25 with a Celestion driver upgrade blew the LT-40 out of the water...

      @@sawdustandsurvival Hey, actually I haven't. I searched the internet for suggestions and in the end I have decided to get the Mustang LT25. Since I like having the ability to experiment I thought the modeling amps, Mustangs, would be best for me (altough I like the traditional looks of the Champs more). Since it will be my first amp and only for bedroom practice, I chose the 25 version. If I wanted something more powerful, I would skip the 40s and go for the LT50 (or maybe for the Boss Katana 50).
      I will have the opportunity to test it on Christmas with my (also new) Squier CV 50s Telecaster and I cannot wait to hear it :)

      @@jenda445 Oh sorry, I wasn’t aware that people commented.
      Well let me put it this way, the lt40 was for my brother and he prefers to use my lt25. The lt40 really sounds like 2 decent pc speakers, more “processed”. It’s as if you are hearing a youtube video. The lt25 sound very different, fills the room better and I find more enjoyable to play. I noticed that I tend to like bigger speakers because it sounds fuller, more separated, you can easily distinguish the high from the lows. Smaller speakers tend to give me a headache because it sounds so busy.
      However, the lt40 has more options, more tones. It has bluetooth and has an app. In addition the lt25 does not support a looper footswitch.
      But I soon figured out that I really want, is a good sound and the limited software pedals the lt25 is more than enough. It even taught me how pedals work.
      I now have a studio jcm800 with only 3 pedals.
      My personal opinion is that the lt25 is lacking in feature but is superior in sound compared to the lt40.

    I guess Fender is just trying to fill all the gaps possible when it comes to size or output. It looks nice though.
    Also, kudos on channeling SRV there at the start, sounding delicious!!!

    FENDER CLEAN SOUND IS #1 2ND TO NONE . MANY PEOPLE prefer a clean sound as opposed to raunchy overdrive. Glen Campbell was one of the best guitar pickers/shredders with only a clean sound. Glen Campbell would put metal guitarists to shame . True talent needs no fuzzy overdrive to sound great !

    The LT50 has line out and makes a lot more sense to me. But, as a table top littel amp the LT40s is nice in a strange way 🤠
    If it makes some Fender sounds I could live with that 🤠

    I bought a used Mustang GT40 for $150. The LT40 is basically the same amp with less features, at a higher price.

    I can't understand why Fender is not equal to or more than the sparks 40 watt amp, Fender sound effects suck, the Sparks 40 amp will blow you out of the water, Fender should have at least the same sound effects options as the Spark 40, shame on you. Fender you should quit sticking all the money in your pocket, start making your customers happy, and you should start doing it soon before you go out of business..

    Yeah, that Spark is just outstanding. I play through mine every day, the rest of my amps get dusty.

    Please don't use a distortion pedal. The reason is. That's not the sound I will have from the amplifier. I don't have a distortion pedal....
