    I'm surprised more athletes don't respond like they do. Sports journalists ask the most asinine, repetitive, cliched questions game after game , year after year.

      Ryan Clarke Even tho, it's not the NBA paying their salary. They earn millions if not hundreds of millions and who cares about those dumb questions. Just give a short answer, instead of giving them a hard time of not giving anything.
      All I'm saying is.. just because you play on the court doesn't mean the rest of the people that is supporting the entire NBA isn't part of the game.

      Main thing is the 5 Ps - Perfect Preparation Prevents Poor Performance if pop and Russ both work their ass off before games to perform and then get these wash and repeat questions that a zombie could ask. Get a actual group of questions together before you go to interview either one of them so you look like you actually give 2 shits about the job.

  • @archides2778
    @archides2778 8 ปีที่แล้ว +161

    Good for Russ and Pop. The press are manipulators. Theyre always looking for statements they can take out of context and use to start drama among team, or rivals, or to try and make people beef with each other when its already been settled and squashed (they asked Shaq about Kobe for like 4+ years. now they're trying it with Russ and KD). So I'm fine with players giving the press the a hard time. Smiling faces tell lies. They ask very politely, but they are looking for angles to write juicy articles that cause beef among teams. The first thing you'll read the morning after is "RUSSELL'S COMMENTS MEAN HE THINKS HE'S CARRY TOO MUCH OF THE LOAD. RUSSELL FEELS HE'S ALONE. RUSSELL SUGGESTS HE WOULD RATHER BE ON A TEAM WITH BETTER CONTRIBUTORS. POP SAID HE THINKS HIS TEAM COULD USE MORE EFFORT ON OFFENSE. POPOVICH SUGGESTS PLAYER X ISN'T DOING HIS ROLE ON OFFENSE. POPOVICH HAS A STRAINED RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS PLAYERS.SPURS MANAGEMENT IS KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON ROSTER. etc. etc. etc.....silly drama. so good for these guys for not acting like the press is innocent.
    And they all do it...from the no-name reporters, to Stephen A. Smith.
    Pop and Sager did seem like they're having fun though. rip Sager.

    I actually interviewed Russ after his first ever preseason game in Billings, MT when I was working for the local paper there. They were playing the Twolves and his former UCLA teammate Kevin Love. First question I asked him was how did it feel to take the floor today and play against Love. Verbatim: "I don't know, man, I just care that we lost".

    2:06 is a really basic question, lol. Did you all lose it for yourselves? Or did you just get outplayed?

      Yeah that one shows how fucking dumb Russ is. If I were that reporter I'd come right back at him with his own shitty attitude and tone of voice. I'd fucking spell it out how the question not only makes sense but is reasonable to ask and expect an insightful answer. I wouldn't let that fucker leave untill it was explained to him tat he's the fuckwit in that situation. He looks really fucking stupid and petty there.

    The difference is that Pop is rude for a good reason, while Westbrick is rude for no reason. The only time Russ was rude for a good reason was that "what?" clip.
