    To make friends with Koreans, you just need to learn Korean. When I was studying abroad in China, I studied Chinese diligently to make friends with Chinese people. The difference between speaking the language and not speaking it is huge. It felt like accepting a new culture.

    To the girl with the curls: 1) Maybe it's because it's not her native language but saying "THE good thing about Korea was the food" with such an emphasis on "the" makes it sound like it's the only good thing which is VERY rude imo. Especially as she's talking to a perfectly nice young man from Korea. 2) Western girls are - comepared to many other places - more "easy" as she calls it. That's just a fact. Speaking as a European woman, promiscuity and having lots of partners is accepted (and sometimes encouraged) to a degree that would be unheard of in many other countries. Many women are actually proud of this aspect of modern Western culture and call it sexual liberation. It's perfectly true that not every Western woman is "easy" (neither am I) but there sure are a lot of us who are. Lots of free milk going around...
    Also, two comments about the two American girls: 1) They need to learn Korean, STAT! How can they complain about the lack of English in Korea? That's kinda pathetic, tbh. 2) How can they complain about the fashion choices of Korean people if they are the least fashionable/stylish people in the whole street? And they are fashion students? Just wow.

    • @kyraschon3seviron
      @kyraschon3seviron ปีที่แล้ว

      It is not a fact. I have never heard such thing that Europeans are proud of sexual liberation or they encourage women to be more promiscuous and having lots of partners. That sounds very absurd. I live in Europe and many people take their partners seriously. There is a difference between easy/promiscuous and loving your partner. It is not the same thing. You took out of her context. Nour said these type of men who have stereotypes about western girls being easy is to be found in clubs. If you watched the end of the video, she mentions, you will find Korean men with no stereotypes towards western women in university clubs. This stereotype that Western women are easy exist in many countries, not only in Korea.

    Ok, while it may be true that many Koreans "fetishize" Westerners, the same is equally true for Westerners as well; especially now, with BTS, Blackpink, and K-culture popularity expanding across the globe in unprecedented numbers. I'm so sick of foreigners fetishizing my motherland, especially Westerners. I'm Korean-born/raised but studied in the USA for college, so feeling and seeing this new trend of Westerners fetishizing Korea is disgusting to me. I've experienced so much racism, xenophobia, and discrimination from all types of Americans EXCLUDING Koreans/Korean-Americans/Asian-Americans. I've witnessed firsthand the racism, xenophobia, and discrimination MY FELLOW KOREAN-AMERICAN FRIENDS' PARENTS faced in the midst of American/Western culture (before Korean culture EVEN became known in the world). The majority of white-washed Americans (except Asian-Americans) didn't even know where KOREA was on the world map; they always categorized Koreans as Chinese people (note: nothing wrong with Chinese ppl, just stating what I've personally experienced first-hand). Fetishizing a country creates a divide and loss of traditional culture in a traditionally homogenous society. *This is my official plea to all those who are not Korean: Please stop fetishizing and romanticizing Korea.* Korea is native to Koreans. You should marry for love; not because you want a "Korean wife or Korean husband". If love is the reason that two people from two different cultures decide to be in a relationship, great, but STOP SEEKING KOREANS with the intention of meeting your fetish/fantasy. Doing so will further push native Koreans away from foreigners. This is why some Koreans are against foreigners right now. Not only are they inundating the country in large numbers for the first time in the last 10 years, but their presence is in a way "tarnishing" KOREAN TRADITION AND CULTURE because too many come to the country WITHOUT understanding the language, culture, or tradition. Not understanding our language, culture, or tradition isn't a bad thing if you are just coming to Korea for vacation/tourism. But, too many foreigners come to Korea WITH THE INTENTION of fulfilling their fetish/fantasy. Therefore, it leads to many ignorant foreigners coming to Korea without properly learning the language, culture, or tradition. Too many come to Korea thinking it is some sort of "escape"... *If you are not of Korean descent but were born/raised in Korea, in Korea for work, or in Korea to actually study the culture, then this message does not apply to you.* But, for everyone else, please, from a Korean, please stop fetishizing and romanticizing Korea. You will be the death of my culture if you continue on this path.

    애초에 비영어권 국가에와서 언어장벽을 말한다는게 우월주의를 좀 느낀다고생각했습니다. 좀 이기적인 의견이라 생각합니다.
    당신나라에 가서 왜 한국어를 하는 사람이 별로없냐고 물어보면 어떠시겠어요?

      That perception is what you get from the so called "sexual liberation"... Broken relationships at home and a bad reputation around the world. It's infuriating.

      The English accent of the Japanese is very bad. But they are very sweet and intelligent. And most importantly, they are not racist and rude.

      In my opinion, September is a very good time to visit Korea. Because autumn starts in September and it's good weather to walk around.
      I can't say he's good or bad since I don't know him at all. But I would say just be a little cautious until you fully get to know him in person.
