A FUN SONG DEDICATED TO THE VICTIMS OF WORD CENSORSHIP 😠🤣🤣
Hi y'all, Jerry here. So I wrote the words to this about a week ago, and Julie helped me write the music, especially the driving beat. It's about the frustration, and at times resentment, I've felt having to squelch some of the words that aren't considered appropriate between friends or in social settings. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type of guy who lives and breathes profanity, but once in a while (usually to express anger) some expletives in the English language come to mind. I don't really believe the words, themselves, are "bad," but rather what's behind them is what really matters. For example, if someone says "I f***** up," I don't believe that even touches the hurt that might come if a person would yell at me with all sorts of profanity with all kinds of nastiness in their heart. In fact, even if they didn't use profanity, it would hurt a lot more than if just a stray "f" or "s" word were to be expressed.
Anyway, that's been my opinion for a long time, but to be polite, civil, and to generally fit in with societal norms, we as adults learn to watch our tongues. However, I've been wanting to express this musically for some time, and so here it is :-) A good friend of mine has been saying "Dang It All Anyway" for quite a while now, and I made it my business (with her permission) to express this through music. So, last week it just came to me, and with Julie's great help, here it is for you all to enjoy (or not enjoy lol). Let me know in the comments, please, what you think.
