The feast of the Assumption of Mary is celebrated on August 15th yearly in the Catholic Church and the Chinese feast called the Mid Autumn Festival is also celebrated on Aug 15th yearly. In this feast the Chinese people honors a Chinese Moon goddess and make a special delicacy called Moon Cake in her honor.

So that image has been used as a symbol of healing in hospitals, ambulances and so on.
