Nice review, pleasure to hear the ride review without the usual music 👍... regarding the union flag decal, that's a UK market addition, other countries have a black/white or white/black number decal depending on base colour (as seen on numerous other TH-cam vids)
@@marcdxn87 me too, the bike is lovely in person and a really nice size and really really good quality switchgear and finish but I think that decal looks a bit sh!te 🙃
I bought one, loved it but had so many problems I had to return it. Swingarm bolts kept undoing causing the swingarm to flap around, four times in total and even when I used thread lock it still came undone. Also, something to do with the evaporator inside the tank broke twice which stopped the bike from running and left me broke down in the middle of the countryside. I didn't even hit 1000 miles on it and it spent more time in the shop than my garage. The bike rode lovely, just a shame about the quality and design of it, learnt my lesson not to buy Chinese again :(
Hi mate, you must have gotten your hands on a defective model. I've had mine for a few months now and put 1250 miles on it and have had no issue whatsoever. The bike runs beautifully and have had no quality problems :)
I’ve had mine for over a year and only needed to replace the arm that holds the plate lights and mud gaurd because it kept snapping, I eventually made my own modifications and switched it to a fender delete. Tbh the whole back end has to much excess weight so just a bonus getting rid of it
Oh yes 1986 😉 A grand bike, great looks and colour. I still prefer an analog speedo and central rather than offset. All in all, a great review of a cracking bike. Thanks.
Very nice looking bike, i believe they do a 300cc and a 250cc for other markets, now if they brought those here i would be seriously interested. Having said that its a great looking bike but hate that 'contraption' that holds the number plate. Great review.
yes try getting parts for them ...i got one and needed a brake lever .been informed it 2 months wait ...and looking around their parts service most parts are not available with at least 2 mths waiting
Great review, would have liked to have seen you sitting on the bike with your feet on the ground for reference. Great sounding. Name I haven’t really seen much about so good to see, many thanks.
Cool little motorcycle Boss! Though I had to watch it twice because I thought the tyres were called Dim Sim! 🤣🤣. Very surprised to see the Union Flag on the side panels which I originally thought you added them! Exhaust sounds great for a wee engine. I thought ABS is mandatory in Europe? Well done Mark!
Would u Rather buy this or Zontes G1 125? Quality wise theyre similiar tho zontes has a better finish do to nearly all aluminium build yet price wise hanway is £250 more expensive in my country and has CBS instead of ABS...
i am looking at buying one of these in next coming month for first time geared bike will be upgrading from a sinnis harrier 125, would this be a ideal bike to go for its also cheaper for me to insure over a automatic 125! would it take awhile to get used to gears from a learning prospective
had one for a month and now its back in the dealers as the back mudguard thingy broke of the swingarm leaving a 2-inch hole in it ...when it came the head bearing was all loose and there's screws needing tightening all the time ...the headlamp wire keeps popping out no matter how much i try taping it in ... for a new bike its very shoddy and with the back guard thing breaking off id even say dangerous
A service every 6 months or 2000mls? Jeezus, it needs more fettling than a Lamborghini Aventadore!!!! That servicing could add £600 on the cost of first 2 years ownership? Looking at the reviews I guess the service is 20 mins for oil/filter and levels the other 4hrs is for tightening up every god damn screw, nut and fastener? Still looking to buy one though, I like the style and I like the fact it’s giving me the full ponies, in Europe the engines are rated at circa 18hp and with mods probably gonna squeeze a bit more out of it, first thing I’m gonna do is cover that Union flag with a carbon fibre wrap, that flag shabs the bike, next thing would be a tail tidy, I’m no fan of that type of number plate set up.
Wow really! How does rev matching affect the running in of a motorcycle? In fact it reduces load on the engine and gearbox and assists in smoother gearchanges. It has positive effects on running in.
I bought one of these yesterday, the dealer tried to register it but was told that Hanway hadn't been given the go ahead to put them on the UK roads yet, something to do with not being in the EU anymore.
@@motorsforthemasses That was it! haha, yeah the chap told me it should be going through next week as well so that's reassuring to hear it from yourself 😁
2/3 rides out but I'm away on a trip now. I've had a look around the web regards service info and possibly parts without any luck. Have you found any detailed information on the engine used in the bike anywhere - with if being so new I'm finding nothing. Im really surprised at just how loud the stock exhaust is with the baffle in, I don't know how it sounds to the public but riding around i think it's fairly loud in comparison to other bikes I've been on. Also it appears you can use the key to unlock and lift the seat up, I've yet to actually do that yet and a point the reviewer didn't cover. Whether there's room for some emergency small item storage I'll have to check and see.
Nice looking, but not likely to replace the Sinnis T125 as my most likely next new bike. I don't like the flag thing either, stuff like that is pretty much always gauche and smacks of pandering.
Nice looking bike, another example of a small capable bikes we'll never see in North America
Great to see the reviews again

Cheers for that info! I was going to have a search myself, but the comment section has me covered!
Glad it's decal and can be easily removed with a hairdryer!

Great review. I was looking at the scram 411 offering from total Enfield 😅
Oh yes 1986 😉

All in all, a great review of a cracking bike.
Thanks.
For a 125?? It's a beast of Bike 😊😊, thanks for sharing 😊
That’s a nice looking bike! Bit of a supermoto vibe with those tyres. Good vid as usual, looking forward to video Hanway’s next offering!

Well the local dealer near me always has stock for them.

Nice one. I liked better the old scrambler model 😎
£3000 OTR for this currently versus £3700 for the Zontes G1 - Is the Zontes £700 better?

ABS or CBS compulsory, ABS for 250 and above.
@@motorsforthemasses thanks for explaining this Boss!
Looks great but a Furious 125? Hmmm...
Great review as usual but can you explain again about the ABS vs combined braking please? 😉
Would u Rather buy this or Zontes G1 125?

buy a Zontes ... i have one of these ...they are absolute rubbish
Good review as always. I found the offset instruments a bit off putting other than that nice bike.

You guys over in the U.K. really like these 125's don't you ?
No..but the restricting government bodies do.

and now I got to take it back in as the HO2S sensor engine light is on ... it's an absolute heap of junk and waste of 3K
One negative I think: it doesn't look like there's much room to strap a bag or box to the back end of the bike.
Sound decent. Thumbs up..
being 6ft I'm not too sure it's big enough that's my only concern..
That's nice!
Atractive that is, one or two gimmicky items but still I like it.

The gear change would be even better if you rev matched on the downchange, like most experienced road testers would do....
You are 100% wrong. That is not how to ride a bike with zero miles during a running in period.
Wow really! How does rev matching affect the running in of a motorcycle? In fact it reduces load on the engine and gearbox and assists in smoother gearchanges. It has positive effects on running in.
Looks like the "online sc 125".

The bikes have arrived before the Homologation paperwork for the bikes for sale.... apparently about a week away.

Price wise not as good a value as the Zontes G1.
Service intervals are still very low , quality is far better but let down by service intervals
Looks like the Yamaha 125xsr
For this price it should have ABS included,in my opinion. I agree with my predecessor that Zontes G1 is a better bet.
The Chinese bikes are getting better but not the music at the beginning of the review
Indeed - those sound like tunes a teenage Londoner might blast out. Still, might then appeal to a younger viewership?
It's a xsr copy (not a bad thing)!
That exhaust looks suspiciously like a Lextek part to me.
Nice looking, but not likely to replace the Sinnis T125 as my most likely next new bike. I don't like the flag thing either, stuff like that is pretty much always gauche and smacks of pandering.
It's a great bike. :)
I don't like that Union flag panel. Sorry. :(
EDIT: I really like the rest of the styling.
Agreed but you dont have to get the Uk panel.
Dash is a complete rip-off of a Yamaha XSR700!
