wicked re-make of such a classic recold...25 years old & came out @ a time when i was 1st discovering hip hop in its golden age & the beginnings of house music & these guys used smiley face a year before acid house blew up the uk.some great beats & samples & i love this remix complete with man parrishes electro classic 'hip hop be bop (don`t stop) ;)
so am i. just be glad youre not young today; they have no concept of music that isnt autotuned. im proud to be a dinosaur and have all my original vynil, CD's and tshirts and posters from concerts. clear, blue vynil etc, i bought 20 years ago. ))
you are right on an individual basis. its not ok to assume someone young likes a certain type of music. unfortunately, the masses speak otherwise. there is still really good music out there; it's just a lot harder to find these days because of the heightened demand for all the crap. as an example, consider michael jackson (forget the fact that you dont like michael) vs justin beiber. both are teen phenoms. mj is a genius and biebers just a heartthrob crooner.
there were cheesy bands like maroon5 and ugly, overrated divas like beyonce back then, too, but they werent the only game in town. there were subcultures like alternative, industrial, grunge. it's all just bad rap now. even rap is a pussy watered down version now. wheres the hard core P.E. and the fun runDMC? so it isnt a question of young or old; its a question of how music has devolved. i expect some kind of movement to shake things up in the next 10 yrs, but for now, music seems dead.
