During the whistle blast at 12:45, you we're at the crossing in Rogers Cut. I recognize most of the whistle signals I hear from the 3. The only reason I know this is because I was right behind the 3 in car 14 filming that run. Very lovely whistle from that day. I'll remember it forever...
M1911A1 The #3 did have that door in the movie. The camera doesn't stay on it long enough after Lloyd closed it to tell, but it was the same one. The #3 has not had a different firebox door since she burned coal.
During the 2011 season No. 3 is scheduled to run as our regular excursion train on April 10th, May 21st, July 4th & 16th, and August 13th, plus additional days to be determined. Come up and see us! - Ken Rattenne
@M1911A1 Good question! I'll have to go back and review the footage in BTF III to tell. I know the goal of the restoration was to bring more into the look the engine had in the 1920s

no its not. the generator sounds like a turbine, which it is. I'm talking about a vacuum air sucking sound coming from the cylinders.
what is that sucking air-ish sound coming from the 3 while she's running by at the Sierra Ave. crossing? I hear that every time I see her running.
Nice!
What type of whistle
I'm sorry but I don't know the answer.
Lima 5-chime. It hasn't sounded so good in the most recent years sadly.
@@WoodJack99not anymore, it’s been fixed
