Thank you! It was running in Winter Wonderland. Yeah, the long distances are slowly going better. I am still working on getting a 'bigger motor'. How is your running going? Fit again? Any big races coming up? My next one will be the Druiven Marathon. I'm doing the 42k.
@@TH-camTheRunningDutchman Sadly i had gotten sick for 2 weeks straight while i was on an important training block in my training for MuT Geraardsbergen 88k. So now i'm hoping that things get better real fast hehe but at the same time i'm taking it easy so i don't get injured at the same time.
@@TH-camTheRunningDutchman OH yes great idea... I'm just outside Paris so will absolutely look into that for next winter!! I'm still only just starting out... will do my first 50k trail start of April!!
Wow, Paris. Shakespeare & Company is my favorite bookshop. The only thing missing there; books on running. 😆 I'm running the Trail du Saint Jacques in Le Puy en Velay in June. Looking forward to that one. Which 50 are you doing in April? Let me know how it went! Good luck!
@@TH-camTheRunningDutchman In June!!!🥵🥵 🤞🏻🤞🏻for you for the temperatures !! I’m doing La Diagonale des Yvelines start of April, not too much elevation gain for my first one, though what there is is all at the end so still definitely a big challenge for me!! I’m also doing La Boffi Fifty du Festival des Templiers in October with 2400m SO will be training my arse off with poles in the mountains this summer!!😁🥴
I also raced the 63km. It took me 7h30. The route in Malmedy is fun. It's not super difficult, but it's a perfect loop to train on. And the belgian Ardennes are almost always beautiful!!
Btw, it may seem obvious what you said about drinking but EVEN when we’ve made that mistake before, we can still fall into that trap so easily, so THANKS for saying that!! Yep my freezing wintery marathon just this last January I was dehydrated worse than ever for days after and had quite a headache !!
I had kidney stones after an ultra. I drank a lot, but it was super hot, so I still didn't drink enough. In winter it's even more tricky, so I can imagine you fell for it as well.. How did your winter. marathon go last month?
@@TH-camTheRunningDutchman 😳Wow, kidney stones quand même !! The marathon was AWESOME thanks!! Despite the cold wind and over 700m of gain, I was only 3min off my PB, which I had set only 8 weeks before, so I was pretty thrilled!!! All building on the endurance!!!😁💪🏻🏃🏻♀💪🏻
Well done! Keep working on the 'big engine', with lots of slow running. I'll make a video on that soon. I want to beat my 21 years old self 2 weeks from now in the Druiven Marathon. It's not a total fair competition, as this will be a Trail Marathon and my debut marathon was the Rotterdam Marathon (road). But I hope to be at least wiser now.😄
Loved the video! Awesome footage, edits and music! Great tips and also with the time you ran you have improved a lot! Keep it up!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Beautiful scenery 😃 and respect for your accomplishment 👏👏
It was Winter Wonderland. You just have to leave the road behind you 😝
Wooowww!!! That was absolutely gorgeous !!! What awesome tips too!!! You REALLY make me wanna do an ultra in the snow now!!!
I don't know where you live, but the Ardennes in Belgium is super beautiful in winter.

I was there as well. One of the most scenic routes I ever raced because of the snow. I enjoyed every km. Well done on finishing 💪💪
Yeah, it was a fairytale! Which race did you do? How is the black route in Malmedy? I'm planning to run that one in the next couple of weeks. 🙏

Thank you. I did Spa and Theux, so Malmedy is next 🤩

@@TH-camTheRunningDutchman AGREE!! Wow that’s definitely a great challenge, and an awesome demonstration of the "run slow" strategy !!!
