What a guy!! In constant pain because of his dwarfism, he and his wife lost two children shortly after they were born. Absolute proof it's not how big the man is in the fight, it's how big the fight is in the man.
how could he and his wife even have been married let alone be having children shortly after they were born - u need to be at least 16 to be married....unless ure being metaphorical....or what???
@@CheekyFest thats my point - how could they have been having children shortly after they were born - unless its different for dwarves - or did he mean metaphorically - as in because dwarves are small theyre still child like - which if thats the case its a bit rude to be honest....
@@tman5363 erm. I don't know how to explain this. Some children die . Sometimes they die not long after being born. What Dan means is 'Warwick Davis and his wife had children. The children died.' Warwick and his wife are still alive.
Met Warwick, his wife Samantha and baby daughter Annabelle on the set of "The New Adventures of Pinocchio" on location in Luxembourg with my daughter Gemma who played the part of "Blue" ...Warwick generously invited us out to a really nice Bistro for dinner with his family. He was charming, warm and delightful company. Gemma was 12 and just loved to carry Annabelle and spent the rest of the time on the film cuddling her under the watchful eye of Samantha. One of the warmest memories I have since being in this industry for 55 years.
Love Warwick Davis, loved Willow as a little girl and when I watched Life’s Too Short I was just delighted at how funny and what a great actor he is. He is a legend.
Yep Willow was the main thing I knew you by in my childhood and remember to this day. 😊😊 Never knew you were an Ewok until now, which we ALL Loved. My Grandfather had Polio as a baby and was only 4'10. I never noticed him as different until someone pointed it out at my school. It did not change my opinions of him ever though. He was A Giant among Men. 😊 Warwick is a good Actor. I am surprised he is not in more movies.
Warwick Davis is a great guy he is amazing my son was disabled and Warwicks personality his humour intelligence his whole demeanour reminds me of my son, he is such a decent caring guy.
What an engaging speaker!!! So informing, funny, eloquent, intelligent and naturally entertaining. The only problem with this address is that it's too short... (OH FUCK! I meant....) Congratulations Mr Davis on a GREAT talk. xx SF
What a blessed audience. Insight, wisdom, and lots and lots of laughs. And it goes without saying what an all-round great guy (and talented) Warwick is.
I am the same height 4ft 8 inches. My school life was absalutly hell on earth but I am 39 now in a wonderful relationship with 2 average size children. Warrick Davis is such an inspiration to me. I never thought I could be happy. Thank you warrick for helping me through such a traumatic part of my life. Xxx
Willow was my very first movie I can remember watching and to this day still my absolute favorite.. I'm a huge fan of Warwick and most of his work (The Leprechaun scared me) As a little kid I loved his smile, such a Big Beautiful Bright smile.. I'm so very happy that he hasn't lost that smile with age. He just seems like such a Sweetheart! 🤗🤗 If there was one celebrity I would love to meet it would have to be Warwick..
Warwick comes across as being such a gentleman who has a very good sense of humour. The miniseries Weekend Escapes with Warwick Davis that he made with his family is well worth a watch. He would be an amazing person to interview about his life and his acting career. Thank you Oxford Union for uploading this video clip.
What a champion of a human being!! Truly inspirational spirit and a fantastic actor.. I didn't know he was the actor who played leprechaun.. that movie scared the s**t out of me, I still remember him jumping on someone breaking their ribs singing "this old man he played one he played knick knack on his lung"..
I truly have not recognized that Warwick and I have been around for so long!! We have a lot of memories for our generation. Love so many for the fun!!!!!
I am so impressed how he just took this interview in his own hands (Although it's hard to tell if it's meant to be one). Warwick is absolutely captivating with his storytelling ability!!!
Celebrities always give a talk like this and then there's a Q and A. If the guest is involved in politics / academia then the chair person will ask questions instead of it just being a talk. Followed by a Q and A. There are lots of examples on the channel. The Cambridge Union is vastly superior as the Oxford students and chair can at times be extremely biased with their views if there is a speaker who doesn't politically align with theirs. Check out the Ben Shapiro talk at both Universities if you're interested in the stark comparison.
I love watching Life’s too Short just to watch Warwick. Even when he is in the background he adds so much to the scenes. I think this man has changed perceptions of short people from being a “prop” for others to make jokes about or Umpa lumpa type characters to be being potentially damn fine performers. Don’t shy away from engaging with people who are different.
Oh how much I miss the time back then. My late aunt was his neighbour. I didn't believe her at first hand, but then we went out for a walk with her dog and there he was. So sad his lovely wife Samantha has passed away way too soon this year. It breaks my heart. He's a gem. Wishing him and his lovely children all the best.💞
Captivating talk, Warwick. [SPOILER ALERT] The final question from the young boy and Warwick's interaction with him as Flitwick was so generous of Mr. Davis which probably made the boy's year made me a tad emotional!
He’s always been a hero of mine, but holy cow is he so well spoken, I could listen to him all day. And his comedic timing is so on point 😂 Willow is one of my all time favorite movies. Edit: he has so many good stories., and he has a lot of wisdom. The stories about Mark and Carrie and Val with the Sunglasses are so heartwarming. I love how open he is with his stories about challenges he has. So many things I’d never think about. Maybe we should consider including step-stools in disabled toilets. A plastic one is like 3£ Omg him geeking out over Doctor Who is so cool. And when he pulled out his Professor Flitwick 🥹
Very charming. I love his sense of humor about things. Humor is a great mechanism for coping with anything in life and in seeing the joy in it, which is what I loved about Life Is Too Short. Meanwhile, he reminds me, a bit, of the brilliant actor Michael Dunn, who played Dr Miguelito Loveless, in the classic Wild Wild West tv series, and appeared in Star Trek. Dunn was a tremendous actor, regardless of his physical stature and made you accept his character, beyond the physical appearance. he also had a tremendous singing voice, which he got to show off, on TWWW.
I would love to meet this man. He, here in the states, love him for being both Willow and the Leprechaun. Characters who were big part of our lives for some.
I honestly did not know about his great humor. Mr. Davis, with all the hardships he had faced in his life, never lost his spirit - which is deeply impressing.
Go back and watch Return of The Jedi, and watch Wicket the Ewok. Watch how this little critter interacts with Leia , how it doesn't seem like a little person in a suit. Then realise that this was an eleven year old kid playing this. What a talent. I'd love to meet him for a pint!
Warwick Davis, one of Britain's unsung acting legends (IMO) from Star Wars to Harry Potter, shows that his disability didn't slow him down nor stop him. A great advocate for all those people who think they cant do it.
Warwick seems like a great guy- and being Professor Flitwick gets him some more points in my book, it'd be so neat to talk to him. "The hurdles- or as I used to call it, the limbo" is the funniest thing I've heard in a while, along with the stilts- I've been laughing my head off and trying to do so silently so as not to alarm my whole family lol
This man is a brilliant orator he is so engaging. Warwick gets on with it whilst most of us moan and groan this is my example the only star now alive that I would like to meet.
I think "Life's Too Short" is one of the best shows to ever be on TV. When I was a girl we watched "Willow" a hundred times, we loved it. I wish we could see Warwick in more movies and TV. And of course, "An Idiot Abroad" was great!
Warwick is a wonderful actor and human being. Bless this man.

2 minutes in and I already feel gratitude towards the world for giving us Warwick Davis! Such an enlightened personality, and a great actor.

Warwick! We knows it’s YOU 😊
I love how his parents didn’t let him be limited, how much he appreciates that, and how far that mindset took him!
I thought this was a skit that I hadn't seen before.
Life's Too Short is a fabulously hilarious show.
Warwick is a great actor.

The man is a legend, and his beliefs and easy approach to life is unspoken. Thanks Warwick for a great video on yourself. We all love you bud :-)
Well said!
I have three sons, all 6 foot plus, but I would be as proud as hell to have Warwick as a son.
he is an endlessly likable fellow.
He's been my hero since before I could read. I was absolutely captivated when Willow came out, and I've followed his career ever since.
He's wonderful. Talks eloquently, very funnily and without any rancour. Bravo!
A truly delightful experience.
I can't help but like this man he deserves to have his own talk show he'd be great.
Love Warwick, life's too short really shows off his acting ability, just brilliant.
This is taking the piss. Not once does he give his address out
I had to scroll up to read the title to get this joke. I laughed out loud. Brilliant.
wyliecat29 haha love this
wyliecat29 that because he's sick of people nicking his caravan.
In know he comes from the Shire but i dont know which house !
YES 😂
What a man he makes me smile and sometimes cry, nothing can keep him down.

This guy is more interesting and charming than many other actors. His mindset and outlook is something I’d like to have. He’s one of the good ones.
I love this guy! 'Life's too short' is so underrated. Quintessentially English humour - self-deprecating in the most awkward situations.

more of a soliloquy than an interview

Warwick is a giant of a man in a small body, isn't he? Can we credit the great Peter Dinklage in the same compliment?
What a great speaker. I could listen to him all day.
What a great attitude he has. A true stoic

Just such a wonderful man, gutted for him and children his wife died. He just carry on make her proud as always x x x ❤Heather 🤗 😘

Lori "You" use "quotes" way too "much".
Must of kicked ass to be a fan of SW only to play a part in the movie and be loved by Carrie!
I love what Warwick says from 27:50 to 28:37 about political correctness.
