I receive my replacement cord lock assembly yesterday. Thanks to these easy to follow videos, I had it installed and my blinds working like normal within 30 min. Thank you for your help!

Excellent video! We have now repaired 2 blinds of this type and then, using info from other Fix My Blinds videos, taught ourselves how to repair one with different mechanisms.

We found this very helpful in re-stringing our top down bottom up cellular shades. It walked us though it step by step. Thank you fixmyblinds!

Thanks for the easy to follow, step by step directions to restring one of these blinds. There were a few differences, namely our 5' x 5' has only 2 cords for each function, not three. I was able to figure it out regardless, because each step is explained with clarity.
One question that I though of as I started the repair was the following. Only the top down string set in our blinds needed to be repaired. Could I have just replaced those strings? I think it would be fine to do only one side, but I could also be overlooking something.
Anyway, great video and thanks again.

Mark, I'm glad to hear that your repair went so well! Yes, you can just replace the strings that operate one function of the blinds. For instance, just replace the two strings that operate the top-down function.

Hi my Comfortex Top Down - Bottom Up blinds have only two (sets of) strings from the top to the bottom, not three sets as shown in the video. Is there instruction for that kind of Comfortex Top Down - Bottom Up blinds? I got the blinds about 12 years ago.

Hi there, the instructions are the same; you just don't have the middle string to replace. But all of the steps are the same. Here's an instructional guide that may be helpful, too: fixmyblinds.com/pages/how-to-restring-a-comfortex-top-down-bottom-up-cellular-honeycomb-shade

Need to be specific on how many cords are needed for top down bottom up shade.

Hi Scott, The number of strings can vary. Every top down bottom up shade will need at least four cords, but some can have six or even eight depending on the size of the shade. If you remove the bottom rail of your shade, you'll see the route holes for the string. Count those and double that number to get the total number of strings needed for your shade.

+Winnie Ling We recommend a professional or factory repair for cordless shades.

Why don't my cord locks come out? They seem glued in. I got the plastic cap off the cord lock but the wooden cord lock itself will not budge. Are all comfortex shades like this?

Btosky - Sometimes, cord locks can be so hard to remove. Overtime, humidity and dirt sort of "glue" the lock in. You can keep trying. I'd wiggle it back and forth to remove. No adhesive was used to hold it inside the rail.

I was able to remove the top of the cord lock, and Drill a hole through the top of the rail down the way, and sneak a chain back through. I think I had a fancier version of what is shown here. But that thing wouldn't budge. It works fine now though! Thanks for the video.

My rig broke so I did it right this time! It’s a symphony blind so I put the top rail in hot water to get the cord locks to slide out

I do not have end caps

Donovan - Are you needing end caps for a Comfortex shade like in this video? All of the end caps for cellular shades can be found on our website here: www.fixmyblinds.com/part-categories/bottom-rail-parts/bottom-rail-end-caps/cellular-honeycomb-pleated-shade-end-caps.html
