Met Eric Berry and his parents at a football camp in GA about four years ago. Absolutely great people - humble, understand their blessing and committed to giving back. Been a huge fan of his ever since. Looking forward to him coming back and dominating.
Joe McKnight died?! I remember he played for the Jets those couple of years when they were actually good and beat the Patriots, he was a good player, RIP.
I wont give you a bunch of flack cause you didn't know he was murdered. It tore me apart when I heard the news. I played high school football in Louisiana, then colleigate and in the NFL 8 seasons. I met him during the draft process and just gave him the best advice on being a good pro. I mean the greatest spirited kid who worked extremely hard who was loved by everyone who knew in the community. Joe will forever be missed
"Marc Tyler played with the same HS as Jimmy Clausen, can you imagine having to play against that offense?" We did...and lost...every. single. time. lol
As a USC fan, I was so hyped about Joe. Loved watching him play for us and followed his play in the NFL as I do every Trojan. Heartbreaking when I found out about the incident. What a cruel way to go. Thank you for honoring him. Made me cry. Watching these kids grow to men and find success, even for a little bit, you grow to love them. RIP Joe.
Amazing video man. I’m a huge Notre Dame fan, and when your top 3 where all USC players it got me fired up. Then you talked about McKnight, and I was like, he used to run all over ND. I assumed before you continued to hear about him in Canada or maybe being a back up somewhere. And then you told us about the road rage incident. And you ended on the NYJ longest place in franchise history. Chills man. Absolute amazing video. Thank you so much.
i was rooting for someone to pick him up in the draft. truly an underrated talented man. may God hold his soul tight because he was one of the unsung heroes of many younger generation of football players
Honestly is college career was a bit of dissapointment considering all the hype he had going in. Reminded me of Lorenzo Booker when he went to Florida State was the #1 high school player in the country the year he came out.
He did not live up to the hype in college, #1 out of high school as a running back is rare, thats why he was drafted in the 4th round, and that was probably based more on his high school reputation
I remember being in high school and seeing Noel Devine thinking he was superhuman because of his HS highlights. My plan was to go to WVU to play Fullback. Unfortunately my visit to the school and not receiving a full ride killed it for me. Still can’t believe Pat White and Steve Slaton (and Owen Schmidtt!) didnt change the NFL game. Awesome vid!
Truth. THAT man needs to swallow a humble pill. If ANYONE were a draft EXPERT, then they would be the only one. Every year, its hundreds/thousands of guys trying to play predict the future, and they rarely get it 10% accurate, much less expert level. Tom Brady, for example.
Not really...he was severely over rated just like his brother who also a SEVERELY over rated... both were surrounded by amazing talent in both high school and college which covered up the fact that neither of them honestly were that good
@@l.rongardner2150 Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! You cannot possibly OVERRATE the starting signal caller at THE Notre Dame University! Can't be done! Now, go wash your mouth out with soap! Preferably with Irish Spring.🙅👄👅
I have to agree. People will trash him as being overrated b/c he was the ND QB, but at ND his last year he passed for close to 4000 yds and 68% completion % with only 4 picks. I think w/ him he just never was able to be a leader. People even at ND thought he was a douche which was why he got punched outside a bar.
3:19 thats the wrong Mike McNeil. This is the top 10 from 2007 and the video you showed is from 2008. The Mike McNeil you are thinking of was in college already at this time. This footage is also not a high school in Alabama but a HS in Baltimore, MD. Only reason I know this is because that is Tavon Austin (#9) in the video with that big block on the kickoff. I watched hella Austin highlights back in 08 so I know Dunbar highschool when I see it lol.
We'd be fools to believe a con. He's conned his way to millions already, why would he ever actually hold to any of his meaningless suggestions or promises?
I remember when Joe McKnight was coming out of John Curtis high, I was heart broken when he choose USC over LSU, he was a great talent and a good guy, RIP JM
I’m a panthers fan and oh man when they started talking about how great jimmy clausen was I was given vivid memories of the 2010 season for the panthers. Ptsd
KTO your right on point with this video man. I came out that year it's like a blast from the past hearing all of those names again. We also had JJ Watts and Antonio Brown in the 07 class as well. Rest in Love Joe McKnight
I never knew McKnight 's story. THANK YOU! I'll never forget him now. I wish more people knew of his story. I am disappointed I never knew him. You rarely get that reality check shared. So many are greedy, superficial and willfully ignorant. I'm grateful he had that beautiful moment on the field.
This is a really good video. Honestly you and Flemlo are two of the best football storytelling channels I know of. Absolutely top notch. LOVE both of your guys work.
Woah... I was literally playing Madden and returned a kick return for a touchdown and it lined up perfectly with the final clip of the video. That was magical! It's as if the game was channeling McKnight himself
I'm from New Orleans, I saw McKnight play a few times in high school. Man, he was awesome to see as a high school kid, like a man playing with boys ( especially speed wise ). I remember when his team played the #1 h.s. team in the country ( team from Alabama that did that two a days show), he just took over in the second half.
Growing up, I always was a pretty decent Joe McKnight fan. I even remember that kickoff return he had against the Ravens. But damn. I didn’t even know his life was cut short like that. RIP Joe. Guy was a class act.
Joe McKnight was the first kid I've ever watched as a high recruit and I thought he was going to be special. I remember the jets riding him in hard knocks and I thought it was very unfair how they messed with him psychologically causing him to question himself and that's the worst thing you can do to a player who is trying to make his way in the NFL and already having a difficult time with his stock dropping from high school and through college. RIP Joe McKnight.

Still have an autographed card of his. Shame he never turned in to anything. Oh and yeah, I agree with KTO, look up this kids life story. It's really sad and really strange.
I dunno if it was because of Kobe today, but you can tell McKnight was a true humble athlete that one could look up to. I can appreciate and respect the way he speaks on behalf of himself; you can tell he was a good, humble man with a good soul.

A lot of these people are those who just play out of raw talent and inherent athletic ability. However, players that do become great continue to grow and mature as time goes on.
