Anybody who tries to explain in technical terms what is going on is full of it. It has something to do with the bond between Ringo and John. The reason that the Beatles sing so much of love is because it was what propelled their music. And incidentally, this would be why both John and Paul tried to insinuate their wives into their music. They were trying to recreate the magic they knew with their bandmates.
@@CarryWater23 I think that Ringo is a darn good drummer under any circumstance, but I don't think he ever came close to matching his work with the Beatles post breakup. Am I wrong?
"Here comes the Sun", "Paperback Writer", "Strawberry Fields", "Penny Lane" and about about 1,000 others. Also try "Norwegian Wood", "Help" and "Fool on the Hill". Beatles rated as likely the most important band in 20th Century and changed music. Noted for having 5 simultaneous (NOT one-after-the-other, but all at once) Number 1 songs in US c. 1965. Dominated - and for good reasons! Nice reaction.
In my Life, Nowhere man, You’ve got to hide your love away, I want to hold your hand, She loves you, From me to you, Michelle, You’re going to lose that girl, It won’t be long, …
They put a microphone right inside the piano so the sound would last as long as it did. Now she needs to listen to the most talked about opening "chord" ever played: It starts the song: A Hard Day's Night. It took 4 different instruments to create the "chord sound" that has puzzled a lot of people for a long time though now we know what they actually did as it has been explained. There are several videos showing what the Beatles did to get that sound.
I love the subtlety of Ringo's drums. He never overdoes it and plays exactly what needs to be played to make it right. Moon or Bonham couldn't play for the Beatles.
Most people don't know the meaning of this song. #Paul died in acar crash in Fall of 1966 and it was kept from the public with a replacement- #Billyshears. MANY OTHER BEATLE SONGS (Strawberry Fields), ARE THE RESULT OF THAT EVENT!
So glad you get it! This is a masterpiece that you need to not only listen to, but FEEL, to get the full effect. To really feel, you need to stop your thoughts and let your soul absorb the true essence and British historical vibrations that are embedded within.
It's so great to see you enjoying this song! This song and the record that it comes from (Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band) was The Beatles experimenting with what was becoming the trend in pop music in 1967: psychedelic rock! The Beatles were transforming rock'n'roll into art. As you could hear, they wanted to take their music into a new form where the songs would explode into different shapes and colours and lyrics could be poetry. John Lennon was writing surreal scenes about headlines he read in the news; Paul McCartney added the fragment in the middle about "Woke up...fell out of bed..." from a song he hadn't finished yet; the band came up with the idea of hiring a symphony orchestra to play psychedelic freak-out instrumental breaks where the musicians would start on a particular note and make climactic jumps to the next octave and then end the song--and entire record--with one final, never-ending chord.! I request your reaction to "Hey Jude!"
That final chord sounds like it is endless but does eventually end. However, if you have the right pressing, the LP literally does not end. Courtesy of a friend who had been in England when Sgt Pepper came out, I was able to hear the original UK pressing. on a completely manual turntable (the early AR). Normally the tone arm would lift when it reached the runout groove. If it did not, as with a manual TT, you would hear first the 15K Hz dog whistle (assuming you could hear that high) followed by the endless party sounds as the cartridge rode round and round forever. This was not heard again until the CD was issued and that contained only a limited number of repetitions of the party. No runout groove on a CD. 😉
Most people don't know the meaning of this song. #Paul died in acar crash in Fall of 1966 and it was kept from the public with a replacement- #Billyshears. MANY OTHER BEATLE SONGS (Strawberry Fields), ARE THE RESULT OF THAT EVENT!
I Love this girls reactions to a fantastic and wonderful trip called The Beatles! I've listened to this a thousand times.I burned out my parents stereo listening to these songs as a kid..Keep listening sweetheart it's a sound adventure.
Had the same effect on me as a kid when I first heard it almost 30 years after it came out, and it still does 20+ years later no matter how many times I listen to it
I grew up listening to The Beatles. They had so much fun experimenting! This was the first time that an orchestra was recorded with a rock band. The rising/climbing sound was reportedly received with excitement by the orchestra. Using classical instruments to create a new sound was unheard of back then. I believe that the combination of talent along with the time in history has made The Beatles a unique band that stands up to the test of time. If this were released today, it would still sound fresh! Thank you for sharing young lady! 😽🎶
it's such a JOY to watch you to react to this music, you REALLY get it. THis is an all time masterpiece. That's the magic of Lennon/McCartney together. These two kids changed the world.
The piano sounds for 47 seconds long! I could never get my guitar to sound right on opening chord "A" to Hard Days Night? The Beatles hit a piano A at very same time as the guitar A. They were true genus at making so many small sound things that add up overall to make the music of their songs so GREAT. They were pure dam talent!
I remember teaching my kids to go wild as we drove down the road, stereo full blast, knowing every word, note and extraordinary timing to synch in 1979. They couldn't believe music was so much FUN! It came out when I was 18, we didn't care if most people didn't "Get" it.
Back in '67, listening to this for the first time was like visiting an amusement park on a warm summer night. John Lennon always takes you places you have never been.
He did want to tuUuUuUurn YoUuUuUu OoOoOoOonnnnn ;) (take you places you had never been before, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, to dive into the unknown)
The Beatles were so inventive and this is an example of their growing prowess in the recording studio and finding new ways to entertain listeners. You are pretty smart besides being beautiful, great reaction God bless. Check out "Don't Let Me Down", live 1969 thanks!
A chain of odd circumstances found me, damaged in body and spirit, but with money and without responsibilities, in San Francisco as the calendar rolled over into 1967 and the slowly fomenting counterculture finally exploded on the world. The revolution in music and in just about everything else shook me out of my doom and gloom mindset and back into the world. For me, the cherry on top of that very tasty ice cream Sundae called 1967 was the Sgt Pepper album, It symbolized something new happening in the world especially inside my head and set me on the road back into joy. I have not listened to it for ages and ages but I am so happy that I am hearing it again, through the eyes, ears and minds of people today.
John and Paul had two separate songs that were incomplete. George Martin had a brilliant idea to put them together as they had similar topic and music themes. Ringos drumming is especially good. He doesn’t drive the beat but punctuates the measures which allows them to stand out.
I just now discovered you. Such a great discovery! The look on your face at the end of this master piece is exactly what most of us looked like the first time we heard this when it was released. It leaves you speechless. The Beatles music never gets old! 🥰 ✌
Siouxsie and the Banshees did a great cover of "Dear Prudence" in 1983. Covers usually don't work for me, but this one is exceptional. The Beatles were amazing. I enjoyed "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" another psychedelic trip, it reminds me of "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" by Status Quo from 1968.
I love Ringo's drums, he's amazing on this song, what he plays is not just beats, it's a melody, like the piano or the guitar, he made the perfect "drums melody" for the song.
This is music from the finest band ever in the finest decade for music ever, the 60’s, this was without doubt their finest masterpiece from 1967, what a year this was, the year of flower power too. Wish I could go back to a more sensible decade that was the 60’s
Great suggestions. Here's another one, listen to the double album called 'The Beatles', also known as 'The White Album'. Start from the beginning and go right through. You will thank your lucky stars.
They were voted the most influential band of all time. Most sales and most #1s. I think at one stage they had 7 of the top 10 hits at one time. It would take a long time to react to all their #1s but worth it.
This is the crowning musical / production achievement of the Beatles. The fact that this was recorded in the 1967 is amazing, considering the technology of the time, the Beatles were using new and unconventional methods on their last few albums - check out "Revolution #9", or one of my favorites: the side 2 medley on "Abbey Road" album.
This is my favourite song ever written, still holds up. Ringo's drumming, Paul's baseline, John's singing and lyrics. The way it builds up to the bridge and again at the end. Magnificent. Of course not to forget George Martin's expert hand in this and the team of engineers putting together all the effects and creating new recording techniques and methods. Stunning
The Beatles were the perfect storm. 4 men plus a wizard producer who took music on a magical mystery tour with many millions of fans. They changed music as people knew it & laid a path for so many other bands to try & keep up. Many couldn't & most didn't. To all who followed them they were The Beatles. Enough said.
“A Day in the Life” is even more stunning when you hear it in its proper context, as the finale of the whole rollercoaster ride that is their great album “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”. It’s as though the whole 20th Century raced by and exploded in front of you.
one of my most favorite songs from The Beatles.. you asked for suggestions, and though not a Beatles' song, here's an instrumental rarely "listened to" nor suggested: "Island" by Art Of Noise.. cheers!
Every time I hear Bohemian Rhapsody I can clearly hear the direct influence from this song, there is no doubt whatsoever they modeled it from A Day In The Life, the changes and exotic sound tricks, only with the more sophisticated equipment and musical experience that were available in the few years that passed since the Sgt Pepper Album had been released.
Welcome to the world of the Beatles! Some say the greatest band of the modern era/time ... and not the era of the past few decades; but, a couple of centuries!
Remember 1967 had a pre-computerized world. Cut up and rearranged recording tapes were used, Lesilie speakers were used for different sounds. large oscillators were used for distorted vocals and instruments For maximum flexibility. Every thing was all done on 4 track machines, which was the technology back then.
A huge achievement considering it was recorded in Mono. It's really two different songs linked together with a small group of classical musicians (EMI wouldn't stretch to a 90-piece orchestra, causing drummer Ringo Starr to suggest they get two 45-piece ones instead!). With John unable to complete his song, he left a number of bars in which Paul McCartney could step in with his own (equally) unfinished tune. In fact, with John having recorded his part in advance, Paul had to cut short the word 'dream' or he might have erased the rest of John's vocals! You really had to pay attention in those days.
The beginning of the album that this song is found on begins with *Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,* followed by *With A Little Help From My Friends.* These two songs run together and are really good to listen to together. Both were written by Paul McCartney, but the second song was written to be sung by the Drummer, Ringo Starr, and it's perhaps the best one sung by Ringo. Another Ringo-performed song that was written for him by McCartney is *Yellow Submarine,* which is a lot of fun to listen to. This song also inspired an animated film called "Yellow Submarine."
It might not be easy to find these two songs in a TH-cam video together, so when looking try putting "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band + With A Little Help From My Friends" in the browser.
I love the reference to the potholes in Blackburn Lancashire that he had read in the paper, as my family is from Blackburn. Wish they'd kept that issue 😂
Well Nasa, that's 4 down and only 200+ more Beatles song to go! 😲 Really, they have over 200 songs recorded as the Beatles, and no telling how many total on their own. I noticed the 4 you've done now were from 4 different albums. Perhaps you should try The White Album and do at least two since it was a double-album released in '68. The songs I recommend are "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". And if you want another lively one from the same album, "Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me and My Monkey". Another one you'd like is "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds" back on Sgt. Peppers. Of course any Beatles song other commenters are suggesting are good too. ✌️😎
I really wasn't a big Beatles fan until 1967 when they dropped their "yeah yeah yeah baby" phase and started singing about other things than girl boy relationships. Sgt. Pepper still sounds just as awesome today as it did back then.
A lot of fun watching your honest reactions as the song unfolded! Yes, the Beatles changed the entire universe of popular music in seven short years (1964-1970) more profoundly than anybody else ever has. A few suggestions (and I apologize if you've already done these and I've missed them): Here Comes the Sun, Blackbird, Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except For Me and My Monkey, Because.
The Beatles offer an almost inexhaustible pool of versatile songs. You've already heard a few of them here. A very popular song by the Beatles that you haven't heard yet is "Hey Jude". But I would also like to suggest a beautiful atmospheric song by YES. It's called "Final Eyes" from the album "Big Generator"
My two favorites if theirs are penny land and things we said today. Listen to the beautiful key modulations that they do in each song. That has become a lost art in pop music but for the Beatles it was second nature.
These are actually two song fragments that were combined to make a single recording track. John Lennon wrote and sang the first and last segments, while Paul McCartney bridged the Lennon bookends with the "Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head" portion. George Martin and McCartney arranged and conducted the orchestral moments.
I have a suggestion to reactors- there are so many great hit songs from the past, and so many great bands to explore. So take your time and explore them one by one. Don't let it frustrate you that you can't hear them all at once. You're young and have your whole life ahead of you. For us boomers, we've had decades already to absorb it all. Or much of it, anyway. It could take a whole lifetime.
Some Beatles classic songs that I would suggest are 'In My Life', 'Hey Jude', 'Something', and for fun- 'Hey Bulldog'. They have so many great songs and hope you enjoy. Keep up the good job :)
I am so happy that you like this song. It is one of the best Beatles' songs. You should listen to these: "I am the walrus", "Happiness is a warm gun", "Strawberry fields forever", "I want you" and some slow ones: "Sexy Sadie", "She's leaving home", "Dear Prudence" and "Across the universe". Try to listen to John Lennon.
The final note is the sound of multiple pianos hitting the same chord and the recording level being brought up gradually as the sound began to fade out - making it sustain for as long as possible. Why? Because nobody else (outside modern European composers) was thinking of doing it.
The percussion on the slower parts is a favorite. Also, I think there's a playful dig at fans or the music business in general in the line "now they know how many [a] holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall." Get them butts in the seats!
Strawberry Fields Forever! Penny Lane! I am the Walrus! Tomorrow Never Knows. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. songs that make me dream awake! Albums: Revolver. Rubber Soul. Seargent Peppers Lonely Hearts Club, Magical Mystery Tour. All worlds unto themselves. What fun seeing you hearing them for the first time. One of my guitar students married the drummer's (Ringo) daughter, so he gets to play the same guitars that are on these records.
I just came across your channel and am in love with the purity of your reactions and emotional nakedness. Have you ever listened to Prince before? I recommend starting with 'Purple Rain'.
The Beatles are not once in a lifetime talent, they are once in history. Never be another group of musicians who will even come close.
they are absolutely among the best of all time. We are so so so lucky to have lived on earth at the same time as them.
Never will there be another group like them!
54 years later... that final note is still playing
...and the radio waves of the pop stations of 1967 are still traveling through space . Maybe there are more Beatles fans way out there 'Across the universe'

💞💞💞
Hey Jude and Yesterday. U will love both!
I am glad you are reacting to The Beatles. Best band ever
You only have about 200 more great songs to listen to!!! So for that, I'm saaaaacribing!!!!
I really wasn't a big Beatles fan until 1967 when they dropped their "yeah yeah yeah baby" phase and started singing about other things than girl boy relationships.
Sgt. Pepper still sounds just as awesome today as it did back then.
Voted the #1 Beatle song of all time it can be debated forever I don't mind there are so many great songs they did
A lot of fun watching your honest reactions as the song unfolded!
The Beatles were very innovative. You will like most of their stuff.
The Beatles have the most famous first chord ever with A hard days night, and the most famous last chord ever in the song you have just heard.
My two favorites if theirs are penny land and things we said today. Listen to the beautiful key modulations that they do in each song. That has become a lost art in pop music but for the Beatles it was second nature.
Eleanor Rigby! You must!
next time react to beatles ''long and winding road'' "Here there and everywhere" and "something". three amazing songs
Glad you did this one. Many people believe it's their ultimate masterpiece.
I was waiting for this
What a first song to review!
Revolution, I am the walrus, dear prudence, glass onion, cry baby cry, tomorrow never knows. Would love to see your reaction to those.
The reverberation at the very end goes on for more than a minute, for any who'd want to listen that long.
'Strawberry Fields', 'For No One', 'Savoy Truffle', 'I Need You', 'Oh Darling'. Just to start!
The very interesting fact about this song, that they are two songs mixed masterfully together. The first is Johns song and the second one is Paul’s.
Well said Don.
Jambo sana , love and peace from Liverpool
ME AND MY DADDY'S FAVORITE SONG WHEN I WAS A LIL GIRL 👨👧💯💙
Hello from Spain.
You are a beautiful woman 🤩
Some Beatles classic songs that I would suggest are 'In My Life', 'Hey Jude', 'Something', and for fun- 'Hey Bulldog'. They have so many great songs and hope you enjoy. Keep up the good job :)
i can't never tell if you're tearing up or just happy lol
OMG... yep!
The greatest band ever. I don't think we'll ever see the likes of them again!
They'll never be another Beatles! I am the walrus you'll love it.
The final note is the sound of multiple pianos hitting the same chord and the recording level being brought up gradually as the sound began to fade out - making it sustain for as long as possible. Why? Because nobody else (outside modern European composers) was thinking of doing it.
You can't go wrong buying ANY release from The Beatles but Sgt. Pepper and Revolver are the most revolutionary for their time.
The percussion on the slower parts is a favorite. Also, I think there's a playful dig at fans or the music business in general in the line "now they know how many [a] holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall." Get them butts in the seats!
I remember sitting around, listening to this and trying to identify everyone on the album cover.
I remember doing the same thing...while stoned. A great time :)
Those orchestra bits?
Recorded the on same day that I was born --truth
Check out Tomorrow Never Knows on Revolver, the changing point in music.
A great example of how good of a drummer Ringo is.
That's classical!!!!!song,Acid Queen,in movie Tommy.,Tina Turner sings.
Your audio quality is great! Keep listening to classic rock
Which ones to listen to? All of them ...
I just came across your channel and am in love with the purity of your reactions and emotional nakedness.
Have you ever listened to Prince before? I recommend starting with 'Purple Rain'.
👌 thanks 🙏🙏💞
