Well a new year and a new f1 game - and thanks to Codemasteres and EA Sports, i’m taking a look at this years entry in the series in F1 24. But, are the yearly F1 games starting to get a little bland, like say the yearly releases in the Call of Duty franchise?
Firstly before we start - F1 is for those of you who don’t know, the ONLY sport i watch. I’m not interested in NBA, Fifa, Moto GP, hell even in Australia i couldn’t really care about our own Football in AFL. So naturally, the only yearly sports game i’m interesting in is Formula 1.
But having been a fan of the sport since 2019, and picking up the yearly F1 games, I’ve not yet really experienced any fatigue when it comes to sport entries that some other gamers may be familiar with - but, this may be the first entry in the series thats kept me engaged and entertained, but also a bit, maybe not disappointed but maybe deflated

Pretty sure i saw a video of Lando Norris saying that F1 cars are a lot easier to drive than the F1 games portray them yet we have armchair, esports wannabe try hards telling us the handling is too easy 😂

I actually find this new edition quite refreshing. I race with a DD wheel and it’s a nice change with the handling. I don’t get the hate…. I’ve played 8 hours today lol…. The cars drive awesome, a notch better than F1 23 imo. The FFB is also a bit better, a little more detail. The graphics are that little bit extra sharp, it’s quite noticeable. The game is severely lacking extra customization options. But this is a bigger upgrade of a game than in previous years (not including 2019 or 2020 as the classic F1 cars were fantastic). Very happy with this game.

I never ever had an non perfekt Pitstop in 23
I got a heap of buttons on my wheel and keep forgetting which one is "12" haha

Te handling and grip level is a lot better imo…. I could care less about the small objectives like cool engine down or not use the ers for a whole lap. But I get it tho. It’s something new I guess

The car sounds are terrible. The new handling makes pulling out of corners too easy

If you are a fan of F1, why not try Assetto Corsa and install all the fabulous mods that allow you to recreate (nearly) every F1 season from the 50s until today with original cars and tracks? Many of the mods are free too.

I like the career mode or full grand prix of the f1 games. Can you do full 20 car AI grand prix on Assetto Corsa?

Funny how 99% of the people complaining about the handling have never actually driven a F1 car before to see what they handle like.
