Even though its a stock case, it has potential!! Its what you put in it!

@@Theutmostgeek the mobo looks to be quite clean! Did you remove dust, cobwebs, junk before recording? Thank you 8:42 not an expert, but I agree: replace the cap! What to do with the Packard Bell? Keep the case but if you can afford it, build a cooler PC!

@@j.lietka9406Yep I cleaned the machine before recording to just make it less of an eye sore to look at. I might attempt to replace the cap just to practice soldering although I will consider making a sleeper build with this case if I ever have the funds to do so!

@@Theutmostgeek as a kind of hobby I look for electronics in dumpsters and curbside stuff. There's an e-waste dumpster not too far from me, but most of what is there is rendered unusable. Lots to look at and dig through but not much worth taking. I check apartment and business dumpsters. Sometimes I get lucky! Thank you

@@Theutmostgeek at one of my regular places I check for electronics, I found a tossed out Acer R 14 (screen is cracked! 😡) But looks pretty much complete. Also found an e- machine. Not sure what brand or processor. It's kind of a smaller case PC.

this was my first machine, ran Vista. however, it became a sturdy machine with a few upgrades, upgraded the ram first, it was my main burning machine, for dvds and music, kinda miss it.

Omg, I thought those Packard Bells pc were extinct at the end of the year 2,000. Dinosaurs do exist! This PC case would suit a sleeper style and a few modifications.

@@JuanGonzalez-hv6vs My thoughts exactly! Aside from the poor ventilation, this would be very easy to turn into a sleeper.

Do you plan to daily drive it? I still uses a Dell Vostro 1400 when going outside and mid 2009 iMac as a daily driver at home.

Nah. I got a thinkcentre tiny m73 that I use as my daily machine. I also had a vostro 200s a few years back. Those machines you are using are still plenty for daily use.

@@Theutmostgeek I run BSD on the iMac and Ubuntu ESM to keep the system light on the old hardware. What about you?

@@zhongj Im still stuck to using windows for now. I have tried out a variety of different distros of linux and Ive been really pleased with how they perform on my older machines. Only issue I have is that I just cant figure out how to do basic stuff like downloading programs from the web etc. Prob gotta find one of those linux for dummies books lol.

These are real office boxes. I would even consider replacing the motherboard with one of these almost airtight fanless cases. Poor airflow in there. And the SATA ports would be right under a graphics card if it were a bit longer. So they would be useless. They're just not made for gaming. Unless you play old games from the 90s and early 2000s, which the NFORCE should be able to handle.

Yep! thats exactly what we did with my original machine. replaced the mobo with a fancier one with 4 ram slots and stuck a very hot running hd 5850 in it. I remember that thing literally feeling like an oven if I left the side panel on lol. The Nforce should be able to handle other early 2000s stuff on lower settings. Its definitely more suited to 90s things.
