I feel very stupid for buying this fan. Shame how some sellers dont like mentioning about brittle plastic.

This machine is what is left of my main pc. Due to unfortunate circunstances, it has ended up in Canada with my relatives instead of being in the UK with the rest of my machines. This is also the same machine I mentioned in a previous video of that '08 Packard bell imedia. In its original form, it was overclocked to 3ghz and had a radeon hd 5850 in it which was fine for the games I played back ...

First off. Thank you for 300 subscribers! As you guys probably know that my motive for this channel is to keep things chilled and not to force nonsense down your throats, this milestone makes me really humbled and I really appreciate it all. This is just an overview to see if these old pre-ryzen low end AMD chips have any life left in them a decade later. As some of you may know, these A-series...

First off, Happy 4th of July to my american viewers! this is just an overview of an old machine I got from a nice family friend. I do hope to significantly upgrade this machine as much as possible. Also, as stated in the video, if anyone knows how to get older early 2000s games from steam to work on old machines running on unsupported operating system, Please leave a comment down below! I looked everywhere online and in different stores to try find it but yet somehow, some nice guy posted it on FB marketplace and now here it is! Enjoy!

@@LiftEnthusiast2020OFFTOPIC Mhm. You told me to buy that one.
Tbh bro I blame Evri and it’s possibly the same seller from my Tatung. This is why ABS should never be used in fans.
@@LiftEnthusiast2020OFFTOPIC This came via DPD suprisingly.
Let me have it, i try to find you a better fan
Ah nice I have one but yellow
Neat. Im guessing yours is probably in far better condition then mine lol

I have one but it’s missing a cord

Nice PC, thanks for sharing, those AMD chips are great for how little power they use.
@@joshwa1234 yeah they barely sip any watts compared to others. Thanks for watching!
Hey bro you good? I Made a 10 inch version of my PIFCO BLACK desk fan 2 weeks ago. Pls if u can watch it thanks
@@waqarmalik6135 Yeah man sorry I havent been that active lately. Ill go have a look.
put the motherboard in a side panel pc case bro
@@jjohnson71958 Id consider doing that but the layout of the motherboard is different from a regular m-atx motherboard
Very good machine for its time, and you could achieve a good upgrade. Surprised at the low spec processor. I have a similar system, but I have a Q9400 with a 3.368 GHz o/c on a Biostar mb that takes ddr3 memory. It has Windows 7, and it is an addictive PC with an HD 7570 graphics card. I have to force myself to turn it off sometimes, reminding me that I need the extra HP of a newer machine. Windows 7 is still a good experience compared to newer versions of Windows imo. Luckily I have a 4th gen PC with a gtx 980 that supports W7, too. Kind of the best of both world for serious work. Thanks for the video.
indeed it is! I too was suprised when I saw that it didnt come with a core 2 quad. I have the exact same issue as you do where I often dont even bother using my main machine and just stick to these older beautes. Thanks for watching!
How you find them so cheap? Can't find them under 10 euros.
@@stvpls Go on ebay, search up computers and just sort by lowest price and auctions only. Saw another packard bell that went for £1.61
You could motherboard it up to the max and surprise all those desktop haters out there
I am also thinking of buying one of these for a simple file storage machine. You mentioned the PSU fans are loud but how loud do they get exactly? This will be in my room all the time so noise is my concern.
@@Aleci.e on my unit they are kinda noisy but they still arent overly loud. You would be able to hear it for sure but it wouldnt be loud enough to bother you
An SSD main drive should give loading times 5X approx speed-up.
this was my first machine, ran Vista. however, it became a sturdy machine with a few upgrades, upgraded the ram first, it was my main burning machine, for dvds and music, kinda miss it.
Nice piece thank you
Nice fan. I've had one when I was little but it broke but now I have a new one on my wall and works perfectly
Do you really think a bit of dust is "disgusting" ??? :) I have the 9500, it works pretty well with a GTX 750.
@@nalinux eh well. Thanks to dust allergies, I pretty much have to clean up any machine I get. A dimension 9500?
@@Theutmostgeek Allergies are different then "disgusting" :) The 9500 I have has the same nice white case. No integrated GPU, I don't remember which was inside when I got it. The CPU is a poor Pentium M 3 GHz, and 4 Go ram. Can't be updated to a Core 2. It runs perfectly with XP and 7. And of course Linux. Far Cry 1 with all video options to max in 1600x900 runs at about 95 fps in the demo scene at start up. But remember there`s a GTX 750 Ti inside now ... Heaven run at 14 fps in 1440x900 :) Since there's a IDE connector, it's a perfect "retro" machine. The bios is a pain, since it complain about the drives connected when we connect/disconnect them. I really enjoy this computer. I wonder if Win 10 has drivers ... I will try it. And Win 98 too :)
An e8400 and R7 240 2gb GDDR5 would be a big upgrade. Just make sure you get the GDDR5 version of the R7 240. It's more powerful than a Gt 730, and you can overclock it right in the AMD software.
i've used an a4-7210 machine for some time, with 8gb o ram and a gt730 it could run cyberpunk at 5-12 fps (lowest settings). it's now a server
Thank you all for commenting your views! They have all been taken into consideration.
As useless as my first personally owned machine would of been today (Pentium 2 and windows 98) i wish i still had it, I can never get it back now, if you have to save only one, save your first.
im looking at getting one my self and turning it into the max. what gpu would you recommend to use on it for gaming?
@@edward-jk4ol There is actually a website that details on how to upgrade these machines to the max for gaming. Heres a link: www.greenpcgamers.com/dell/dell-precision-models/precision-ddr3-based-workstations/make-my-precision-t7600-in-to-a-gaming-computer/ personally though, I think an rtx 2070 would do nicely.
but can it run windows 7 without lag?
@@donaldnemesis393 when I got the machine, it was actually running windows 7 professional 32 bit. Apart from the lack of the drivers, it was running pretty well!
I wish I had kept my first PC. Hold on to if you can. It's a nice case too.
of course save it. You can upgrade the gpu on it and turns it into stable diffusion machine
save brother, this could be very useful in the future. if you save it you can scrap it later if you're forced to, but if you scrap it well... you can't save it anymore
I am late but Eid Mubarak! I have a system with q8400 a very good cpu
Save. You can make a server with it :)
If nothing else, the case is worth keeping, or selling.
keep it as collection or you can test it if you want, just keep it, don't scrap it
I would take these over a Vornado Flippi.
6:31 I’d never buy a vornado flippi lol

I do hope to find another DS-12P, but with a not crumbling neck bracket. I’m gonna look for a DS-12P, but in pristine condition. I do not like the ABS neck bracket on these fans.
You should try a Metal SMC
3:49 my theory about Honeywell oiling their motors was correct
I trust you more than a hardware store lol
Worth saving
my honest opinion i wouldn't scrap something like this, especially if it's your first pc. wish i still had mine, it was a late 90's Compaq and first computer i ever used to go on the internet at the time, it accidentally got thrown out in the trash, crazy how time fly's and things change. also these type of systems are a bit rare nowadays even if it had dead hardware in it. if you want to repurpose it (if the hardware is not dead) get a ryzen APU and a micro ATX motherboard, what ever the cheapest that you can afford. but it's your choice what ya do with it.
Make it a remote nas for offsite backups using OMV and Tailscale, AthlonXP should be perfectly capable
Yeah they weren't great. About on par with a Core 2 Duo, but less power draw.
Whatever you do with that PC, I hope you're happy with your choice.
This is the sort of PC I would buy, beautiful, well built and just not filled with ads.
anyone who does crack or LSD would never able to use this fan
It's not pirating if you own the game ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I love The Sims 2 still semiregularly play my 15 year continuous game save currently running it on a Dell precision 5810 Windows 7 32GB quad channel DDR4 and a GTX660 until i get the special 8+6pin GPU power cable. Then it'll have my old Titan Black
@@goqwertygo Fair enough. It seems that quite a few people still enjoy the older sim games. You definitely got quite a neat setup. It'll run real nice with the titan!
Well you could try to recreate the original build if you want. I guess it depends if you cared enough about it to keep it so to save it or scrap it is only up to you. I still have my first original Athlon XP build from 2004. I kept it for nostalgia reasons, and to play my old games when i don't have anything better to do
A Long time ago...!!! I built my first PC, back in.. '96? had it for some years but it had Win ' '98. It still worked, but because of it's age, I gave it to the Goodwill. You might want to keep it.
save it, test it and see what happens
