Awesome win. Congratulations! I loved watching you and especially enjoyed your joyful attitude. You were the only contestant that seemed comfortable with the cold weather.
Just finished watching season 11. You were like the others until you got the relationship with little Sassy - the others would see the Marten as nothing but an inconvenience, but you had respect for it, you named it and talked with it. Then you were so incredibly resilient in adversity, I really got a lot of inspiration from watching you deal with things. Watching Alone is like watching a bunch of people go into the wilderness and pull a whole lot of things from inside themselves - house designs and trap strategies and mental toughness, over and over again. I appreciate what you showed us and I wish you and your family all the best with what you decide to do with the money.
you are the very definition of a humble master. thank you so much William! you've become an aspiration to me, and I'm not even working in the wilderness. (side note: I hope Dub, Timber, and you will get to do stuff together. you three were the most skilled finalists in the history of Alone
Congrats from Manitoba William…….. I’ve been watching you since your boy was infant in the truck with you checking marten sets………. I predicted Clay would win and I was right about you as well!………. You can just tell who’s been there done that………. One of your greatest strengths is your attitude for sure …….. developed over years of working with Mother Nature…… carrying on in spite of breakdowns etc…….. you have made Canada proud!
Congratulations William! You represented your province well, especially the big land! By far, you were mentally the strongest! Loved seeing your lovely wife sneak up from behind and surprise you, it was a beautiful moment ❤. What was your first meal when you got home?
Hi William! My husband and I, along with our friends, gathered weekly for a watch party to see how you were doing. We were all rooting for you and so happy for you when you won! Well done! My question for you is: How close were the contestants in proximity to one another? When the boat and helicopter came to pick people up, I wondered if the other contestants could hear these noises since they can be heard a long way. Thank you!
I liked how you cooked outside on a big fire in the snow, alot of the time, instead of in your shelter. Your indigenous knowledge helped you survive and that is beautiful.
Huge congratulations, William! You have certainly made Labrador proud and put us on the map! My question for you is: How did you manage to keep everything quiet until the finale? That must have been tough! So happy for you all and so glad you made up your boys birthday to him!
William, you are awesome, man! Watching you survive Alone, with your positive vibes, humor and humility warmed my heart. Congrats to you and your family (from a proud Newfoundland and Labradorian🤙). All the best to you and yours, me buddy.
Congratulations again! Question: after spending time with your fellow competitors at base camp, who did you feel was going to be your toughest competition? Been enjoying your videos for several years 😊
When I heard that you would be on Alone season 11, I knew you would be a favorite! I've been following your channel for years, and no question, you had to be a favorite! Even the pros recognized this! It tickled me when you showed up without a bow, which made sense! Your personality was a reminder of how adult in decision making you would be! It was in your nature spending a lifetime honing your skills! Anyway, congratulations in showing how a true woodsman can survive comfortably in the wildest environment!
William congratulations on your win. You made us Newfoundlanders really proud! So when is your book coming out?!! lol Here's the question: When you were dropped off at your campsite area, what was the first thing that came to mind when you seen the team leaving you behind?
Well done Will, look after that cough. I got a cold late June and coughed none stop for weeks, June right through July. In fact I still have a bit of it to this day. So take care my friend.
Great video William! It's awesome to hear all these answers and some of the details of your experience. When watching the show, it seemed to me that the only thing that would pull you from the game was an injury or lack of food. You seemed quite accustomed to the weather and were not having issues with it at all😁 Your attitude when dealing with being away from family for a long time was great too. You were in a good mental state. Great job out there and I'm happy you were able to get the win🥳🎉🎊 I've now found your channel and I was happy to see that you've been doing content for a long time on here. I've been viewing some of your other videos and am quite enjoying it! Thanks😀 Regards, Age
From the beginning of the first episode I knew you were going to win easily coming from Newfoundland. You guys have the top wilderness skills and mental and physical toughness that other people cannot even come close to it. Congratulations from Ontario, Canada.
Congratulations William. You’re awesome. So glad you won. Cheering for you the whole show. A great east coaster. I have a couple of questions. First. After you lost your food cache in the rock wall. What was your thinking by hiding your food in the same manner. The beaver. Second. Not sure if you can answer this one. You must hear boats and helicopters coming and going past. Are you thinking and counting, hoping that was other contestants tapping out. Congratulations again. I think you are one of the best ever on the show. Up there with Roland.
In the Q&A someone said they have been watching your videos for the last couple of months or so and really enjoyed them that is how I was when I came across your TH-cam channel I marathoned all your videos from the beginning I was so intrigued by the way you put yourself out there for us to watch I love how it is real and not a bunch of unbelievable content I couldn't get enough love your positivity and was cheering for you everyday so glad you won the alone challenge will be watching your videos for a long time to come I hope
So impressed with your survival skills on alone. After watching some of your utube videos I'm also impressed with your parenting skills with your son. Great job !!
Congratulations on winning, my husband and i have watched every season of Alone, this is the best season thus far, i think you will definitely be a fan favorite.
Hey William. I really enjoyed that. I didn't see Alone as I don't subscribe to any TV , so I anxiously await your follow up videos. I, and I'm sure many others, would be very interested to learn more about your and your wife's ancestors. Any chance of a book in your future?
In addition to my previous congratulations!…….. I have learned the most working with people indigenous to the land………. One word of advice I will never forget is “a watch has killed more people than anything else”……… in other words work with nature not against it because you will loose!……. Again congrats and good job!
Hey William! Just wondering how far you were allowed to wander from your camp site to hunt and fish? Never doubted you for a second! Congratulations well deserved!
Congratulations it's so funny I kept telling my friends about you and now after they watched alone there fans as well you did awesome thank you for sharing this with us
After watching you for a while now, so as soon as the question came up about the first food you wanted when you came out , I knew it was going to be chocolate cake and dream whip 😂
Willam you are an awesome roll model to others. You accomplished crazy feats so well done. Are you a friend of Justin Barbour, it would be so cool to hear your thoughts on his recent accomplishments. Both of you gentlemen should be proud of yourselves. Bravo Zulu.
I would also like to know what you were able to do for personal hygiene. I know skin issues such as itch or rash can arise from long periods in the bush. Thank you
Congrats again William. I love venison and all types of fish and seafood but, a nice thick ribeye grilled over an open fire is my go to if I have a choice.
What an awesome win, so impressed. You mention many times, being dry was the most important before bed and staying warm. How often did it rain there? It seems like it went from dry to snow on the show.
Congratulations. I thought your ice chest was fantastic. It was so clear you understood the land - so much knowledge. Would love to hear more about your shelter - apart from the smaller size, what do you think made your shelter walls warm, compared to some of the other shelter designs on the show?
Well done William Congratulations on winning just showed the final programme here at Wales 🏴👏👏 huge respect, and respect to all the other contestants as well 👏👏 really enjoyed the programme.
@@williebob100 You welcome, my Great Great Grandfather was from Afonwen, Wales. He was a copper, barrel maker who came across and married our great great grandmother who was Inuit.
@ Hi William, over the last year I have been telling my older brother he’s 83 about your channel and I have said to him I’m sure that you’re family is from Cornwall by your accent, he’s buying a iPad this week so I’ll get him to subscribe to your channel. If I got the right Afonwen it’s North Wales I’m living in the Rhondda Fach the Valleys of South Wales a third Generation Greengrocer I had to retire a few years early riddled with Arthritis and need two new Hips, Over the last two years I have been Fasting on and off to lose weight the longest I went was 26 days but I was having 3 cups of tea a day and a bit of apple cider vinegar and a half teaspoon of salt the salt really helps with cravings, I’ve managed to lose 44 kilos so my Doctor says but I think it’s more like 38 kilos, my Doctor can’t get over how much good Fasting has done for me Diabetes gone, Blood pressure just about normal, Heart working fine. I can appreciate how hard it must have been for you and others contestants without Salt, if you go in again think of taking Salt or boil down Sea Water to get it . Thanks for getting back to me if you send me your email I will send you a photo of my father with rabbits hanging out side of the Shop I think it is around 1938 to 1945.
Such an interesting point about berries eaten by bears before hibernation - watching what wildlife do offers an interesting perspective. A lay person would probably assume berries have fiber and can help you go.
Truely awesome to watch your Labrador culture shine proud. Can you share anything about the refeeding program or behind the scenes about filming the show? All the best, I cant wait to get back to the Big Land.

William, what can I say? Fantastic survival and mental skills. It was a pleasure watching you this season. One question I have is from my daughter, who is a big fan of the show and is a very skilled outdoorswoman herself. She wants to know why you dont speak about your daughter, you praise and celebrate your son, but nothing about the daughter? She wants to know as she believes that survival skills belong to both female and male participants.. Thank you for the great season, GOD Bless

So enjoyed watching you. Congratulations from Manitoba. You are my favourite contestant of all of the Alone seasons. My question is: how do they keep the results a secret? Is there a penalty or something if someone's family member spills the beans? I’ve always wondered.
With all the questions about SASSY, i think you should share your winnings with her . LOL I think the only time you may have thought of tapping out was on the young fellows birthday , Did it cross your mind at this time ?
I'm a bit late to the party, but would you ever consider retracing some of the 1903 Hubbard expedition? I would love to see some of the really wild parts of Labrador that don't see a lot of footsteps.
Amazing job on the win! Labrador proud. Me and my kids watched and we had a feeling you would win. My question, how did you keep this a secret for so long? Especially having a TH-cam channel! Was it apart of the contract?
Congratulations on a fantastic opportunity to be able to display your skills in the great outdoors you were awesome as always. William all the eider ducks and geese that you harvest you should save the feathers 🪶 and find out how they built those old 🪶 feather quilts that we had on the farm in Manitoba, just saying. Good job and good luck in the future.
Thank you very much, my grandmother use to use a eider down mattress, we use to love on it as kids. It wasn’t firm like todays mattress’s you sink down into it a bit and it warm you from the bottom and sides…
Congratulations William you made it look easy lol.! Are you allowed to keep all your footage that you captured for personal use?? Keep the TH-cam videos comming love watching them once again congratulations on the big win.!.!
Hey William , on your recommendation I listened to the alone podcast all along . It was awesome thanks . Raf said on the q and A section that you had the most footage by far , like 950 hours. Was there anything edited out that you were disappointed never made the Final Cut ?
How long before hand do you find out location and timing? Also, when do the loved ones arrive at the base camp? I saw both yours and Timber's were there the day you left so do they bring them in to wait as soon as it's down to the final two?
That’s a nice pile of marten in that photo. Question: Was there a beaver lodge around? Was any efforts made to do a little under the ice trapping? Would they have allowed you to harass a lodge? Congrats on the win! Love to see a real trapper!
William! I’m so happy for you and your family, thank you for being such a huge inspiration! You made all of us Canadians so proud 🇨🇦

Did you get the winnings right away or did you have to wait until the show aired? And what do you plan to do with the money? Congrats on your win!!
So cool! 😀
Congratulations my friend
How long before hand do you find out location and timing? Also, when do the loved ones arrive at the base camp? I saw both yours and Timber's were there the day you left so do they bring them in to wait as soon as it's down to the final two?
That’s a nice pile of marten in that photo.
Question:
Was there a beaver lodge around? Was any efforts made to do a little under the ice trapping?
Would they have allowed you to harass a lodge?
Congrats on the win! Love to see a real trapper!
You are my hero! Did you get mice/rodents in your shelter?
Ok William. Nobody has asked the question that most people want to know. What did you use for toilet wiping? Moss, bark, snow?
Great listing to your story’s will, You keep dreaming of dream whip I think they should send you a few boxes 📦
If you ever get the chance to go on the show again , would you consider taking a bow and arrow ?
