Me :)) I'm from Romania btw I'm listening to this song performed by someone else, Agoney
You've opened a whole can of worms with Eurovision now Tara haha There are _so_ many amazing performances that would be great for you to react to, even just in the 2019 version!
The first time I saw this right after it was performed I was blown away by the power of her performance. Conchita owned that stage and owned that song like a boss. Such a powerful voice, poise, and elegant. Not to mention the meaning behind the lyrics of the song. So glad you reacted to this.
Not to mention the song's arrangement and the instrumentation and production. This song was a winner, with or without Conchita, but she knocked it out of the park
@@lucaswallo8127 Umm... Obviously Conchita is a drag queen. But drag queens prefer to be called "she" when they're performing. It's also common within the drag community to call each other "she". That's the point, isn't it? When you're performing in drag as a woman, "she" would be the appropriate pronoun.
I'm from Austria too. She (he) is kind of a role model for us. She won the Eurovision Songcontest for Austria. The ESC is a Contest in which all European States pick one artist who competes with an original song they write only for the contest. Just if you were wondering. I love your coaching. I've learned so much from you already. Thank you for doing what you're doing. ❤️ much love from Austria 🇦🇹
I'm from Germany and I'm a big fan of Conchita (thats why I watched this video) and I love to see others loving Conchita too, caise I think she is sooo underrated..
Conchita is a drag queen act. Identifies as a man outside of the stage. I hope I'm not wrong with this information though haha. That's at least what I understand from his Wikipedia page. I'd love to see you react to him singing This is Me from the Greatest Showman!! Spoiler - he does it in the original key.
Yeah she has no clue how extrem some performances are 🤣🤣 hamster wheels, ice skating, puppet turkey... Most Americans think that eurovision is like the voice or something 😒🤦♀️🤦♀️
Yes, you are totally right, Tom (who is behind the beard of Conchita) has incredible vocal control... Enormous, controlled vibrato, can do runs up a range of notes. They have a huge range & a gorgeous, very androgynous sounding, vocal! Love this performance & your reaction!
Best Eurovision winner ever. It sounds like a classic Bond theme. Conchita (Thomas Neuwirth) has a fabulous voice and this (2014) predates 'The Greatest Showman'.
The singer Thomas Neuwirth is male and uses he/him on stage and in private. Conchita Wurst is a female persona created by Neuwirth and is always female with the pronouns she/her. Since 2019 Thomas Neuwirth performs as Conchita (female) and WURST (male).
You should do 1944 - Jamala from the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest and La Forza - Elina Nechayeva from the 2018 ESC.... Those are the two that always vocally blow me away (along with Conchita)
Conchita is an absolute legend. I think the emotion in the hall got to her a lil bit and she struggled controlling her voice as she was feeling it. The orchestration is so beautiful too. Those strings! Marriage made in heaven 💗
Eurovision actually brings forth some great talent to an international audience. Fun fact: Celine Dion represented Switzerland and WON the entire thing back in 1988. A recent performance I really like is "Zero Gravity" from last year's Grand final, sung by Australian pop/opera singer Kate Miller-Heidke. If you listen to lyrics, it's actually a really beautiful song about how she overcame post-partum depression after giving birth to her son. You should react to that one, it's also quite the spectacular performance. :)
I know it sounds very demanding, but you NEED to react to Loreen -Euphoria (live at the grand final Eurovision 2012). She is THE Queen of Eurovision. And then, you should also listen to Aminata (live at the grand final Eurovision 2015). You really need to 😂😍
I am from Brazil and we have a good number of fans of Eurovision here. I hope to see you react to more Eurovision act. And also so lovely to see you react to Conchita for the first time since you were so respectful and kind. Love you!

I am so excited that you started to dive into Eurovision!! I started to watch performances of Eurovision and fell in love with it about a half of year ago!! Some performances I recommend watching from the recent years of the yearly competition are 1944 by Jamala (the winner of 2016), Euphoria by Loreen (the winner of 2012), La Forza (in the top 10 of one of the recent years), and Grande Amore by Il Volo (in the top 3 of 2015 with one of the highest audience points of the competition of all time and one of my top 5 favorite performances from the competition's history!!)
You would love so much Eurovision singers and songs (there is a couple of other masterpieces!), coming from every country from Europe for an epic tv-song-show :D
Conchita HAS covered This is Me in a couple of different venues. And he's continued to get better. Thank you for this great review and astute observation!

Conchita Wurst aka Tom Neuwirth is an Austrian singer representing his country at the biggest musical competition in the world. He actually won that year (2014) in the final. The Eurovision Song Contest is held annualy since 1956 in Europe, nowadays with over 40 countries competing in two semifinals and one Grand Final.
This year's Eurovision was canceled because of the Corona Virus 😭, otherwise you could have watched this one. Especially the openings are a real highlight. In the last years they also invited for example Madonna or Justin Timberlake to perform. I would love if you could react to Madonna's performance, the original one pls, not the one, that was edited afterwards 😅. Love your work
The Eurovision Song Contest is an absolute gold mine for reviewable performances. It's my favourite event of the year. The brilliant, the terrible, the outright weird. It really has it all.
I saw someone else say it, but I have to say it too: You've really opened a can of worms with this one... So, so, so many great performances fron ESC to react to. (Loïc Nottet for instance)... I was so happy when I saw the thumbnail for this one, Conchita Wurst's performance is a real favorite of mine
Yes! You've discoverd the Eurovision Song Contest! It's actually a huge Event here in Europe and I would love to see your reaction to Céline Dion - "Ne partez pas sans moi" who won it for Switzerland in 1988.
I've wanted you to react to Eurovision performances for SO LONG -- and you started with one of the best -- Conchita Wurst is the stage name (now just WURST when on stage as the female persona, Thomas Neuwirth is his real name) and Conchita represented Austria at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest -- and WON (and Conchita wasn't the favorite going in) -- the performer uses she/her pronouns when appearing as Conchita, but he/him when performing as Thomas - Eurovision is usually a bit more about the whole SPECTACLE on stage and the song, more than purely about the vocal performance (a person may have really good vocals, but if the stage performance doesn't set a mood or grab attention, people won't vote for it and it will end up finishing very low) -- there are two semi finals (usually with 18-19 performers representing their countries in each), and a professional jury vote plus a fan public vote picks the top 10 in each semifinal to go to the final -- in the final it's the 10 out of each semi, plus the Big 5 (Germany, UK, France, Spain, and Italy ,who each get a pass direct into the final because they won so many early editions of the contest b/c they were the first to take part), and whoever is the host nation that year (whatever performer won the previous year, the next year the contest is "usually" held in that country) for a total of 26 entries -- this year there WOULD have been 41 countries and artists in the contest, and it would've taken place in Rotterdam, Netherlands, but unfortunately the COVID-19 outbreak forced the cancellation of the contest for the first time EVER :(
there's a wrong fact in your exposition, as I'm from a big 5 country (Spain), we're not there because we're from the start, in fact, Spain joined ESC in 1961, five years after it began and we only have won twice since then. All big 5 countries we're there in the final because our broadcasters put the most money in the EBU and without that money things like ESC wouldn't exist, that's why when Italy came back in 2011 after some years not participating they were straight in the final and not in the semis. And the big 5 existing were one of reasons why Turkey doesn't participate since 2012 When I grew up there were more or less twenty something countries competing but after Yugoslavia and the USSR split into a miriad of countries, ESC got creative with systems to get as many countries as possible till 2004 when the semis were instated as a way to more than 40 entries to go and from that selecting 20 to the final.
Maybe react to the Common Linnets - Calm After the Storm too from Eurovision 2014. They came in second place! :) Or react to Duncan Laurence - Arcade from Eurovision 2019. He came in first place! X
I always find it so strange if someone does not know what the eurovision is😂 but Tara's discovered a gold mine of live performances here so can't wait for more eurovision💁♀️
I love that you're reacting to Eurovision songs too! I would honestly LOVE for you to react to the STUNNING Eurovision Grand finale performance of 'Sound Of Silence' by Dami Im. It's incredible and I think you would totally appreciate the different levels and techniques she uses when belting out her epic performance!
Ok, I had never heard of this guy, so I looked him up. If anyone is interested, here's what I found: Thomas Neuwirth is an Austrian singer, recording artist, and drag queen who is known for his stage persona Conchita Wurst.
Oh, thanks, I get it now. Are Russians usually so stiff upper lipped? I did notice in Dimash concerts, the don’t seem to whoop it up like us Americans. Can’t help it when I get excited with a performer!
You should react to Amar Pelos Dois, it's from Portugal and it won a few years back. It's a really interesting song and style of singing and I think you'll enjoy it a lot
Also love Conchita singing Bond songs Moonraker, Diamonds are forever and Skyfall with the 3 female singers with Max Steiner Orchestra. Amazing and gorgeous!
Tara, I'm glad you reacted to one of Eurovision songs. There are so many songs that I would like you to react, but my favorite is Kaliopi 2012 Semi final. I hope you'll have time to react to Kaliopi. :)
You should react to Ruth Lorenzo - Dancing in the rain . she represented Spain at eurovision that year and she was a close friend to Conchita, she has an amazing voice too❤
Awesome reaction as always... I would LOVE for you to listen to and possibly react to another Eurovision performance - this one from Italy: IL VOLO - Grande Amore . They are something else and I bet you'll love it.
Hi Tara, Dimash is back with a new song "Your Love"..You are much appreciated to react to that..You will love it as always he's performance are stunning..Thank you
Conchita won Eurovision 2014 with that song :) Eurovision is watched by vaguely 300 million people each year btw 😂 so it is the biggest music competition in the world. And „The greatest Showman“ was inspired by her, the director admitted that in an interview
Hi Tara, big hug from Portugal! Please, you have to react to Elina Nechayeva, from Estonia, on European Songcontest 2018 stage, with "La Forza".... it was....no words!!! Hug from Portugal and thank you for your amazing reacts.
Please react to James Arthur singing his live version of “Hurt” by Emilie Sande or James Arthur & Dalton Harris singing “Power of Love” live. James Arthur has a unique style that I would love to hear you input on. You’re amazing and stay safe in these times.
World biggest music competition been around since 1956 to unite a continent thorn apart from war. Annually 200million viewers and broadcast in China and three times from US. Australia broadcast since the 70’s and got invited to compete since 2015.
Hope you will react to more Eurovision songs that sparkle the artists’ vocals! Euphoria - 2012, Stay With Me - 2012, Gravity - 2013, Dancing In The Rain - 2014, Sound Of Silence - 2016, 1944 - 2016, World - 2017, Zero Gravity - 2019. I love you!
Eurovision is HUGE. The closest thing to compare it to in terms of it being a big annual TV happening on a similar scale in the US would be the super bowl. But Eurovision tend to have slightly more viewers than the super bowl. But imagine instead of American football it was a super fabulous music competition. It was created slightly after world war 2 as a sort of peace project, with a focus on highlighting, sharing and getting familiar with each others cultures. And a bit like the Olympics of music competitions. Basically a bunch of European (and none European like Australia, Israel, etc) send one artist with one new original song. And it’s basically among the most fair and honest representation of live singing performances you get on tv now. Many of the countries have their own competitions leading up to it, to choose their contestants. Some as it’s entirely own competitions and some use their Idol winner or something like it. You have two semi finals, and one finale. Each country gets a certain number of points to allocate to the songs, all counties get the same total number of points. And each country both give out telephone votes from the viewers watching (you can vote for all entires except your own country), and each country also selects a jury group made up of producers, composers, former winners, music industry people. And you don’t see those jury members in the show, there hundreds of them. You just get the scores the different scores got from the different countries jury groups in the results part of the end of the show. The televotes and the jury votes get the same number of points to give out. Some of the most famous winners that got their big break from winning Eurovision is Celine Dion and ABBA. Overall with Eurovision just a singers pure vocal ability and performance tend to be the most important factor to have a change at winning. And unlike many of modern day music tv competitions, it puts next to no focus on personality or drama. It’s just all about the performances And Eurovision really has everything from Opera, drag performances like this, euro techno, to once in a while heavy metal. Every year or both tends to have some really amazing performances, and some charming and very odd performances. And from some super impressive vocal performances to some that leave a lot to be desired. It’s always a good time.
Conchita won Eurovision 2014. Another vocally great winner of Eurovision is 2012 winner Loreen with 'Euphoria'. 2016 2nd place Dami Im with 'Sound of Silence' would also be good.
How has a singer and song coach never heard of the Eurovision contest?! O: It is the BY FAR biggest annual singing competition in the world. More people watch it than the Super Bowl. Last Eurovision contest was watched live by 180 million people, Super Bowl was watched by "just" 102 million.
I’d like to hear yr analysis on edyta gorniak’s to nie ja, esc 1994 entry from Poland… what got in some people’s mind, and how is it that it didn’t work ? Vocals, production, arrangement, phrasing or language ?
There is too many entries in ESC you should react to so just like watch a compilation of winners or something and pick out the ones you preffer jesus its too good.

And the big 5 existing were one of reasons why Turkey doesn't participate since 2012
When I grew up there were more or less twenty something countries competing but after Yugoslavia and the USSR split into a miriad of countries, ESC got creative with systems to get as many countries as possible till 2004 when the semis were instated as a way to more than 40 entries to go and from that selecting 20 to the final.
Kind and intelligent reaction❗ Bless you❗
She won! The Netherlands ended second snif. This was an amazing performance. Greetz from Holland xx
Nononono, please react to IL VOLO on Eurovision a year after. THEIR VOCALS UGH
Thank you so much!♡♡♡
And yes, Conchita WURST (Aka Tom Neuwirth) won the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the AMAZING song RLAP ❤
Maybe react to the Common Linnets - Calm After the Storm too from Eurovision 2014. They came in second place! :) Or react to Duncan Laurence - Arcade from Eurovision 2019. He came in first place! X
Oh wow I love Calm After the Storm. Still one of my favourite ever Eurovision acts.
@@beckyc8104 same
She actually won.
Can't wait for new series girly!! Everyone on your show has better voice than me, I sound like "happy feet"🐧 😂😂😂 but love watching 💜💜💜💜
It'd be interesting to compare last year's overall winner (Netherlands), jury winner (North Macedonia) and audience winner (Norway).
Conchita won Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark with this song 💚
Ok, I had never heard of this guy, so I looked him up. If anyone is interested, here's what I found:
Thomas Neuwirth is an Austrian singer, recording artist, and drag queen who is known for his stage persona Conchita Wurst.
Russia tried to ban him from performing.
Oh, thanks, I get it now. Are Russians usually so stiff upper lipped? I did notice in Dimash concerts, the don’t seem to whoop it up like us Americans. Can’t help it when I get excited with a performer!
@@popland1977 And yet his fan base is large in Russia! Some of his most passionate fans come from there.
You should react to Amar Pelos Dois, it's from Portugal and it won a few years back. It's a really interesting song and style of singing and I think you'll enjoy it a lot
I recommend an Italian artist called Mahmood, especially with the song "Rapide" Or "Soldi". He is very good
I guess someone already commented that she won, but I don't see it, so she definitely passed to the final and won Eurovision 2014.
Also love Conchita singing Bond songs Moonraker, Diamonds are forever and Skyfall with the 3 female singers with Max Steiner Orchestra. Amazing and gorgeous!
Would be interesting if you continue reacting to eurovision performances, some of them are simply great! Greetings from Spain :)
she qualified for the final and won the whole contest.
You should listen to "Loïc Nottet - Rhythm Inside (Belgium) - LIVE at Eurovision 2015 Grand Final" as you liked him so much last time! :)
He play a role and he make it very good his voice is stunning
You need to check Loreen's stuff. Her voice is out of this world. She won the contest in 2012.
OMG ♥️😍 Thank you! I loved every second of it!
OMG U R REACTING TO OUR AUSTRIAN QUEEN AH THAT MAKES ME SO HAPPYY!!
Hey nice greetings from Austria! Love your videos, keep it up! 😊
Tara, I'm glad you reacted to one of Eurovision songs. There are so many songs that I would like you to react, but my favorite is Kaliopi 2012 Semi final. I hope you'll have time to react to Kaliopi. :)
Contchita won that year and rightfully so.
Tara please react to Dami Im's "Sound of Silence" from AUSTRALIA. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Also the Zero Gravity by AUSTRALIA as well 2019 Eurovision 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Second this ❤️❤️❤️
Zero gravity is not good song, no offense.
Grand Amore is mind-blowing!
Loved your comments on this Tara!!!
Hi Tara, big hug from Portugal! Please, you have to react to Elina Nechayeva, from Estonia, on European Songcontest 2018 stage, with "La Forza".... it was....no words!!! Hug from Portugal and thank you for your amazing reacts.
You should do La Forza - Elina Netsajeva (Estonia - 2018)
Love Injected - Aminata (Latvia - 2015)
Great channel
You could do a serie where you review eurovision's winners or eurovision iconic actuations. 😁
Conchita actually won that year😊
You should watch Polina Gagarina's performance of Million Voices
Please react to James Arthur singing his live version of “Hurt” by Emilie Sande or James Arthur & Dalton Harris singing “Power of Love” live. James Arthur has a unique style that I would love to hear you input on. You’re amazing and stay safe in these times.
Could you react to Duncan Laurence - Arcade (Eurovision 2019 winner) and Gjon's Tears - Repondez moi (Eurovision 2020 Switzerland) please :D
yes, specially the accoustic version of Repondez moi, beautiful voice.
It’s just all about the performances
And Eurovision really has everything from Opera, drag performances like this, euro techno, to once in a while heavy metal.
Can you react to Répondez-moi by Gjon’s Tears hes the Swiss representative for Eurovision 2020 and 2021
How has a singer and song coach never heard of the Eurovision contest?! O: It is the BY FAR biggest annual singing competition in the world. More people watch it than the Super Bowl. Last Eurovision contest was watched live by 180 million people, Super Bowl was watched by "just" 102 million.
Celine Dion won the Eurovision contest in 1988. She actually represented Switzerland that year, even though she's from Canada.
