I love how this song doesn't have the typical verse, chorus, bridge style structure. Instead, it's like a friggin classical piece with movements AND I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT!
I feel like having a traditional take on music is a lot more rare today. The traditional style of opera, movements, and orchestration do have a quality to them that I don't think is matched by many, but it just requires so much more effort to get going than making a 2-3 minute quick song out of a garage using audacity to edit. (not to discount the hustlers, but it's not always the best quality.) The quality has gone down, the quantity has gone up and that makes me sad. An analogy would be, "I wish we just had more time to make gold, rather than sell iron before it's fully tempered." Even with all the advancements to make it easier it still requires a lot of effort, and why make something hard when you can make something easy, and it still sells well?
watched this series on a whim 8 years ago, and still have to say I have never regretted that decision. I wasn't very interested in harem anime to begin with, simply because I'm a straight girl. I really enjoyed watching the girls interact with each other and not be enemies on screen (like why is this so rare? You can be rivals and still be nice to each other, anyway I digress). But for me, the best part was Keima. He's so different from other harem protagonists that I've seen. He has some kind of charm about him despite him not being the nicest guy around. I don't know what I'm typing anymore but I just really like Keima
It's great but I hate what they did with the third season and just skipping to the goddess arc. I'm also not a fan of how the manga ends in the least but I love everything before it. Maybe it's asking too much but I would like to have seen what some harem manga do where each girl gets their own epilogue instead of settling on just one. I guess I took it particularly hard because she was my least favorite in the entire series.

All three "Kami Nomi"'s intros are always awfully long, but every second of the song is a true masterpiece. It gives a huge "godlike" vibe, just like the title implies
I just think of this one as a musical reenactment of the basic story. The first part being when he is just playing the game, the second being when he accepts what he thought was a mere challenge (what is the best you can do), the third being his coping with being forced into the mission and doing his calculated measures to win the girl's heart (the god only knows part), the fourth is the moment he goes "I can see the ending" and enacts the final plan, and the final portion is when the girl's memory is gone but is still strong from the love she felt that she no longer has the gap in her heart. And since the story is awesome, so is the song.
Just finished watching this anime for the 2nd time after many years. Finished watching this back when i was in 7th grade and now i graduated out of high school and im in flight school. This has been by far one of my favorite romance anime ever and listening to the music just puts me in the feels i would 100% recommend this anime to anyone i would damn sure rewatch this anime again its 2022 and if u still listening to this music hell yeah your cultured

This song is the reason I like this anime so much. Normally you don't hear OSTs with lyrics be used nearly as much as this song was in the anime, but it works incredibly well. Not only does it perfectly capture the heart of the anime, but it also works as the perfect catalyst to bring scenes to their apex with little to no dialogue. I feel as thought I'm rewatching the greatest moments in this anime purely from memory while listening to this.
I find it interesting to listen how Japanese singers tend to add pauses between non-voiced consonants, such as _temptation_ which becomes _temputation_ . They also stress words and barely pronounce some vowels, such as _possibilities_ which becomes _possbilities_ . That must be due to the fact English has a stress-based accent while Japanese has a pitch-based accent. It makes Japanese sound a lot more melodious I believe, but it makes English rap much easier to understand - or sing. In Canadian French we only drop the word-final E at the end of a phrase in a song. EDIT: now that I now more about Japanese, it's clear that a big reason why they "mispronounce" English like that is because of their writing system, which doesn't allow the same syllables as English. I find it truly fascinating how we all think about language in different ways :)
The whole song is wonderful and especially at 6:30 - 7:00 what an angelic voice! I first heard it when Katsuragi pulled the librarian-girl up from the pile of books and kissed her!
The main character is hilarious. I almost fell out of my chair when he was called a cockroach and he literally turned into a cockroach only to get stepped on.
It's such a shame that such an amazing anime will never get the praise it truly deserves, one of the best openings to an anime I have ever heard, and one of the best I have ever watched.

I seriously love all of the music this anime has. It's clearly been made by people with both skill and an immense love for all kinds of music. And this is one of those songs I can just close my eyes to and feel exhilarated listening to for the full duration.
I watched this anime in 2013, it touched me deeply. I watched it again during quarantine, he touched me even more deeply. Understanding that there would be no season 4, I went to read the manga, man this story strikes you right in the feels 😭
Even now, this is still one of my favorite animes. And when i watched and read the manga, it was during when i felt a bit down which is why I have a special attachment to it, so im very grateful for it.
Although it was really annoying they had a good reason. If they hadn't done so and if they just gone with more conquests it might not have guaranteed another season to do the Goddess Arc. Having a season with the same things happening is a bit risky since the formula has been done twice already and doing it one more time with the same amount of success as the other two seasons wasn't guaranteed.

For me it’s the tempo change leading into the god only knows part. Really threw me off the first time I noticed it. Also at some point the song switched from 3/4 time to 4/4 time which I find cool.

It was amazing, a manga has never done this to me before. I have never wanted to die so badly in my life and it surprises me that a manga would make me feel sick to my stomach after finishing it. I think I made it worse for myself by playing the TWGOK opening while reading the final chapter. I also wasn't surprised by who he chose at the end. I just knew he would choose her because she seemed so perfect for him. I want to cry.

the sad part about this series is that the MC made it what it is. i didn't personally feel interested in ANY of the other characters. they either seemed unimportant or even annoying. but keima? keima is the star. keima is God. i'd watch it if he was the only character that ever appears.
But Keima's character is one that requires the existance of others to being funny. Think about how the anime would play out if he just sat around giggling while playing video games. He needs characters to challenge his views there for reinforcing his awesomeness.

BattousaiHBr I agree, though honestly I thought the show was pretty average for the first 2 seasons, but the third I found a lot more enjoyable, highly rate it for that. I preferred Haqua over Elsie, she was more interesting. Elsie just seemed stereotypical and empty.
Usually I don’t like harem anime but The World God Only Knows is something different, it has good protagonist, great character development and good romance with comedy, unlike other harems that I normally got bored after a few episodes, begging for the girl to just confess her love, for this show I never got bored.
@@louie1763 Best Harem ever created is Negima. The manga of course, not the abomination that is the anime, or the second anime. It's a harem of 20ish highschool girls (some of them where iffy) with a shota that is filled with action, comedy, and decent character development for every character. The only downside is the BS copout ending. This is definitely tied for second best though, along with Quintessential Quintuplets. Please no spoilers, still haven't finished reading that one yet.
So many years later... no other anime theme or opening has taken me, emotionally, to a place like this has. I really enjoyed the story, and this music is on a god like tier. Fitting for the anime.
I hate to say it, but I forgot about this absolute masterpiece of a composition. One of the first anime I've seen, it remains one of the best. Seriously, this song is fucking legendary, along with the other songs in the series. Tears come to my eyes when I hear this.
I have this memory of years and years ago. I was at my dad's house, back in his old house and when he hadn't had any children with my step mom. It was summer. I had my own room but I liked watching movies in the living room at night, even with no one around. One time I woke up in the middle of the night from awful nightmares, and was really scared, so I went downstairs to the TV, and I don't remember why but I put this song. My brother had watched the anime but I just watched one. It lulled me to sleep on the couch, filled with hope about something. Years pass and I finally tackle the anime in 2020 since this song was one of my utmost favorites. Goddamn I didn't think the anime would uphold the sheer quality that this song has. I have read a lot of manga, but I am confident when I say Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai is my MOST favorite. I usually like romances, or shonen, harems can be fun but usually annoying. Kami Nomi though? Gosh the feelings. THE FEELINGS. It's so good. I am glad my brother showed me the opening on OSU (lol). I will forever cherish the memories this anime/manga has given me.

Still like coming back here every now and then. The World God Only Knows will always live in my heart. I love this manga so much. From the beginning all the way through the ending it didn't disappoint me. Kudos to the author for making such a wonderful read. (I've read it twice now, if only it was released in English...)

The traditional style of opera, movements, and orchestration do have a quality to them that I don't think is matched by many, but it just requires so much more effort to get going than making a 2-3 minute quick song out of a garage using audacity to edit. (not to discount the hustlers, but it's not always the best quality.)
The quality has gone down, the quantity has gone up and that makes me sad.
An analogy would be, "I wish we just had more time to make gold, rather than sell iron before it's fully tempered."
Even with all the advancements to make it easier it still requires a lot of effort, and why make something hard when you can make something easy, and it still sells well?

watched this series on a whim 8 years ago, and still have to say I have never regretted that decision. I wasn't very interested in harem anime to begin with, simply because I'm a straight girl. I really enjoyed watching the girls interact with each other and not be enemies on screen (like why is this so rare? You can be rivals and still be nice to each other, anyway I digress). But for me, the best part was Keima. He's so different from other harem protagonists that I've seen. He has some kind of charm about him despite him not being the nicest guy around. I don't know what I'm typing anymore but I just really like Keima

It's great but I hate what they did with the third season and just skipping to the goddess arc. I'm also not a fan of how the manga ends in the least but I love everything before it. Maybe it's asking too much but I would like to have seen what some harem manga do where each girl gets their own epilogue instead of settling on just one. I guess I took it particularly hard because she was my least favorite in the entire series.

All three "Kami Nomi"'s intros are always awfully long, but every second of the song is a true masterpiece. It gives a huge "godlike" vibe, just like the title implies
I just think of this one as a musical reenactment of the basic story. The first part being when he is just playing the game, the second being when he accepts what he thought was a mere challenge (what is the best you can do), the third being his coping with being forced into the mission and doing his calculated measures to win the girl's heart (the god only knows part), the fourth is the moment he goes "I can see the ending" and enacts the final plan, and the final portion is when the girl's memory is gone but is still strong from the love she felt that she no longer has the gap in her heart.
And since the story is awesome, so is the song.
Because (this one espescially) is an Oratorio. A long melodic song with strong religious significance.

This has been by far one of my favorite romance anime ever and listening to the music just puts me in the feels i would 100% recommend this anime to anyone i would damn sure rewatch this anime again its 2022 and if u still listening to this music hell yeah your cultured

This song is the reason I like this anime so much. Normally you don't hear OSTs with lyrics be used nearly as much as this song was in the anime, but it works incredibly well. Not only does it perfectly capture the heart of the anime, but it also works as the perfect catalyst to bring scenes to their apex with little to no dialogue. I feel as thought I'm rewatching the greatest moments in this anime purely from memory while listening to this.
I find it interesting to listen how Japanese singers tend to add pauses between non-voiced consonants, such as _temptation_ which becomes _temputation_ . They also stress words and barely pronounce some vowels, such as _possibilities_ which becomes _possbilities_ . That must be due to the fact English has a stress-based accent while Japanese has a pitch-based accent. It makes Japanese sound a lot more melodious I believe, but it makes English rap much easier to understand - or sing. In Canadian French we only drop the word-final E at the end of a phrase in a song.
EDIT: now that I now more about Japanese, it's clear that a big reason why they "mispronounce" English like that is because of their writing system, which doesn't allow the same syllables as English. I find it truly fascinating how we all think about language in different ways :)

Although it was really annoying they had a good reason. If they hadn't done so and if they just gone with more conquests it might not have guaranteed another season to do the Goddess Arc. Having a season with the same things happening is a bit risky since the formula has been done twice already and doing it one more time with the same amount of success as the other two seasons wasn't guaranteed.

But Keima's character is one that requires the existance of others to being funny. Think about how the anime would play out if he just sat around giggling while playing video games. He needs characters to challenge his views there for reinforcing his awesomeness.

BattousaiHBr I was the exact opposite for the first 2 seasons. The last season however flipped that for me. When you actually see him suffering with the task he has been given.
BattousaiHBr I agree, though honestly I thought the show was pretty average for the first 2 seasons, but the third I found a lot more enjoyable, highly rate it for that. I preferred Haqua over Elsie, she was more interesting. Elsie just seemed stereotypical and empty.

Usually I don’t like harem anime but The World God Only Knows is something different, it has good protagonist, great character development and good romance with comedy, unlike other harems that I normally got bored after a few episodes, begging for the girl to just confess her love, for this show I never got bored.

Best Harem ever created is Negima. The manga of course, not the abomination that is the anime, or the second anime. It's a harem of 20ish highschool girls (some of them where iffy) with a shota that is filled with action, comedy, and decent character development for every character. The only downside is the BS copout ending.
This is definitely tied for second best though, along with Quintessential Quintuplets. Please no spoilers, still haven't finished reading that one yet.
Here is the thing. It isn't really harem until the third season. He doesn't have a crowd of girls after him until then.
It has been years since I wachted it. Today out of nowhere I wanted to hear it once again and I still love it.

I have this memory of years and years ago. I was at my dad's house, back in his old house and when he hadn't had any children with my step mom. It was summer. I had my own room but I liked watching movies in the living room at night, even with no one around.
One time I woke up in the middle of the night from awful nightmares, and was really scared, so I went downstairs to the TV, and I don't remember why but I put this song. My brother had watched the anime but I just watched one. It lulled me to sleep on the couch, filled with hope about something.
Years pass and I finally tackle the anime in 2020 since this song was one of my utmost favorites. Goddamn I didn't think the anime would uphold the sheer quality that this song has. I have read a lot of manga, but I am confident when I say Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai is my MOST favorite. I usually like romances, or shonen, harems can be fun but usually annoying. Kami Nomi though? Gosh the feelings. THE FEELINGS. It's so good. I am glad my brother showed me the opening on OSU (lol). I will forever cherish the memories this anime/manga has given me.

From the beginning all the way through the ending it didn't disappoint me. Kudos to the author for making such a wonderful read. (I've read it twice now, if only it was released in English...)
