They said they didn't take Mary to the Dr. because of their strong beliefs. First thing Seth did when they arrested him? Demanded they let him see a Dr. I hope neither of them ever gets out.

And that was a load of horse hockey. They had dealt with CPS before with their oldest child. They didn't want to give their kids medical attention because CPS would be on their butts again.

My mother suffered from domestic abuse and violence, but she would NEVER starve us, even for a few hours, or one day.
She'd be killed by my father first, before she would allow that to happen.
These two only seem upset for themselves. They show no regret or empathy for the suffering they've caused.
They were utterly shocked when they were initially charged, as they had behaved like it was no big deal, to that point.
I literally think they believed they weren't guilty of anything. That subjecting your baby to that level of abuse, and suffering was just normal.

a 10 month old baby starves to death in her own home under the supervision and “care” of both parents.. and neither parents think they should be held responsible for what happened to her. disgusting.
she defended her husband’s treatment of her babies until she needed to come up with a defense.
parents lose their children due to circumstances outside of their control, and still struggle with survivor’s guilt, thinking if only they’d done something different, their baby would still be here.. the way she’s trying to deny her own murdered daughter of justice, just to save her own skin tells me all i need to know.
i saw the interrogation footage and the two even insisted they should just “forget” about the baby, and go back home to continue raising their other 3 babies as though nothing happened. when they told her how small her baby was, she got quite upset that they would “try to make her feel bad,” by presenting her that information. they didn’t seem to think the murder of their precious baby was even WORTH investigating, treating her murder investigation as though it’s a nuisance.
i’m so glad those other children were eventually saved from such a gruesome, painful life. thank god those parents got what they deserved, and can never harm another helpless baby again.
rest in peace, mary welsch. you deserved a life, and a family who loved you.

Please save any sympathy for the defenceless child who deserves it. At the very least the “mother” should have had her tubes tied long ago to make sure she couldn’t bring another child into the world just to suffer neglect, live in filth and then die before she’d even made it to her first birthday
I’ve just never understood how it is that people can hear or watch the same awful story and then not have a similar reaction to the majority of us which is heartbreak for the baby but also anger towards the monsters who done this or at the very least allowed it to happen.
Maybe you’re a better person than me but I genuinely thought through every scenario and still couldn’t imagine any where I’d allow this to happen to one of my children.

    • @Blakenew127

She was victim of cult spiritual type of brainwash, which goes beyond DV. To go against him or escape home is the same as sinning against God, plus the fear of what he could do to her and the kids if he found out about it. I’m sure she thought he would murder her or one of the kids to teach her a lesson. Maybe if she let him have his way as always, she and the kids would turn out fine. She seemed truly grieved about the death of her baby, as if even though she did everything he wanted, the worst outcome happened anyway. She has been groomed to believe she is powerless and what he is doing to them has the approval of God. All the while living kind of isolated from society. This is not a process that is done overnight, psychopaths like him have a talent to create mental chains that are the worst part of the abuse because you believe that standing up for yourself (even if against something you know is unjust) is wrong, it’s risky, it angers God and you are asking for this rebellious act to be treated with violence. If he hurted her or the children as result of this “rebellion”, he would make sure to say this was all her fault and she probably already thought of it as her fault. That puts a huge weight on the decision to leave or even going against his orders. I feel awfully sorry for her, the baby daughter and the other children and all the victims of cult brainwashing.

The dad wasn't hurting for food, obviously. He must have had plenty of food for himself. The mom failed to protect her baby and that is a crime in itself. Whether she was abused or not she should have gotten her baby out of there because neither one of them wanted that precious baby. At least, the baby is with God and He will always protect her. This is such a horrific crime.

I guess victims of abuse have to be punished as well to change the way they react to abuse/incentivize leaving w/ their loss of freedom ... if you don't leave when your children are being abused you will be just as responsible. You have to protect your children from known harm & keep them safe.

I have 2 little girls myself, and there is nothing that my husband could do to me that would cause me to allow my children to starve to death..... if what she is claiming is true, and he was abusive, then she failed those children long before the baby died.... i am sure most wont agree with my opinion, but women who stay in abusive situations with their children, should not be allowed to keep them.... So, whether he was abusing her or not, she is exactly where she belongs!!! She forced her children to live in hell, for whatever B.S. excuse or reason she gave, so the least she should do now is live in prison.... heres an idea, how about dont keep having children if your husband is an abusive, religous lunatic!!? If you decide to stay, you get what you deserve, but the children dont deserve any of it!!! My attitude would be entirely different if it was a single women in an abusive relationship, i would be supportive and feel terrible for her.....but the second you become a mother, life isnt about you anymore!!!

The other 2 kids were healthy they said..4 years old. They done did the baby stage with them.. absolutely no excuse for this! I am a dv survivor..3 kids. Go judged, go! I'm so glad that everyone is not backing down on giving either one of these monsters what they want to get out of their actions! She's full of poop and she could have told someone at the hospital of what he was doing to her then! The hospital would have called CPS in Adult Protective Services in the police and when they allowed her to leave with him after having their daughter if he was such an abuser! She was only then crying when she learned her fate was imprisonment for life in trying to find a way to save her own skin and because her husband was with her everyday because she was behind bars and she was behind bars are plenty of time to think of what she was going to do and say to get herself out of prison. Just like her lies about her daughter being fed that's why they waited as long as they didn't call the police and called their" so-called attorneys to think up the story that they were going to tell and then use our heavenly father Jesus to get their way out of things!!!! Jesus or God their both of the same holy trinity would never accept what they said or did to their baby girls life. I'm shocked that when
They tried using God for their actions , their both very lucky he didn't strike them both dead on the spot for their disgusting actions!!!! 😒

I went through domestic abuse too but never in my life would I have put my children through this. Abuse sucks. That’s why you pick your kids. Don’t use abuse to make your actions less disgusting. Take your kids and stay in a women’s shelter. You can’t tell me you didn’t know as a mother your baby was starving. You knew but didn’t care enough that she was going to die. No amount of abuse can justify looking at your beautiful babies starving body and ribs sticking out and thinking, “she’s sick how sad.”
