Working with Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board, CSIRO, Birchip Cropping Group and Mallee farmers we have been measuring soil health under different farming systems and identifying practices that improve our farming systems.
Systems that adopt the principles of encouraging diversity, maintaining ground cover and building biomass are scoring high on the soil health scale.
The 'Regenerative opportunities for building resilience in low rainfall farming systems' project is supported by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board with funding from the Australian Government's Future Drought Fund.
