    Keep away from Pumpkinhead,
    Unless you're tired of living,
    His enemies are mostly dead,
    He's mean and unforgiving,
Laugh at him and you're undone,
    But in some dreadful fashion,
    Vengeance, he considers fun,
And plans it with a passion,
Time will not erase or blot,
A plot that he has brewing,
It's when you think that he's forgot,
    He'll conjure your undoing,
    Bolted doors and windows barred,
Guard dogs prowling in the yard,
Won't protect you in your bed,
    Nothing will, from Pumpkinhead!

Yeah, that's one of my pet peeves about this movie -- the filming in dry southern California chapperal country when the script reads more like Appalacia (probably due to budget). It would have been better in bayou country, but oh well. Still a good movie.

Of a good man named Ed
Left his son for a moment
    Returned, found him dead
Recalls a tale as a boy he was told
Of an evil witch, so wicked, so old
Seeks a farmer's advice he will not give
His oldest son knows just where the witch lived
He took Ed there but refused to go in

She had the power to avenge the dead
It cost your soul, now come with me Ed
I'm gonna take you where your body will lie
I'm gonna take you there, my friend
I'm gonna show you where your life will end
I'm gonna bring you here again

The thing we need it lies there dormant, sleeping with the dead
You understand what you ask of me
Not even death can set your soul free
I cast this curse and you will find
An evil darkness deep inside your vengeful mind
God damn you to hell, he could not restrain
He already has son, the witch did explain
I'm gonna take you where your body will lie
I'm gonna take you there, my friend
I'm gonna show you where your life will end
I'm gonna bring you here again
    Pumpkinhead, Pumpkinhead
I'm gonna take you where your body will lie
I'm gonna take you there, she said
I'm gonna show you where your life will end
This curse I cast, you're Pumpkinhead!
"Keep away from Pumpkinhead unless you're tired of living
His enemies are mostly dead, he's mean and unforgiving."

Tom Woodruff Jr. also did the monster designs for 2019’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Interestingly, Stan Winston was originally attached to the first attempt at an American Godzilla movie in the 90s, before it became the 1998 movie that had completely different effects than what Stan came up with.

This has been my kids' and my go-to Halloween flick for years. I like how at its core its a cautionary tale about revenge. The settings are definitely southern California hills, and one has to overlook the dated garb (especially of the teens), but it has a great story, and good effects. One of my favorite characters is "Haggis," the old witch. She is so creepy and witchy! Fun movie.

It is strange that he was going to get wings in the comic, because when I read the title of the second movie "blood wings" I assumed he would have wings in that one, but obviously realised it wasn't his wings they were talking about when I saw it. The image of him with wings though got me thinking of how much he would suit them. I just watched blood wings again yesterday and think it is decent, but it has nothing on the first. The main thing I like is that they upped the gruesomeness of the deaths. It was that one I saw first away back when I was about 6 or 7; none of my lot had even heard of it before then.
