Usopp is my favorite character in whole series! He is a good friends, creative, funny and very valuable member in the crew. He is not super power guy like pretty much every other Straw Hat (expect Nami) but he's doing his best, he has evolved during the series, conquer his fears many, MANY times and win many battles with his power of will and believe. I just managed to get one of my friends into One Piece! He loves it so far and has watched 30 episodes in 3 days. Now I must protect him from all spoilers!!
Usopp kept the going merry together and it broke my heart when he fought luffy over it and when the merry came back I really believe it was mostly usopp’s love and patchwork he did to keep it together that gave the merry “soul” and have that final voyage back. He loved the merry enough to fight a losing battle against his best friend. That’s a high level of conviction. Also zoro making usopp apologize before coming back was a amazing character moment that’s underrated imo.
One of the most underrated Luffy and Usopp moments in the series... During Dressrosa, viola tells Luffy that the troops are on the verge of facing defeat in the factory and Luffy simply says "as long as Usopp is there I can fight here without any worry". The amount of trust they have for each other is the stuff of legends...
When I first started OP, the dynamic between Luffy and Ussop was mainly comic relief. I never once took Ussop seriously until Alabasta as well. When he proclaimed that Luffy couldn't die because he would become the Pirate King shook me and made pay close attention to Ussop as well. And boy has he grown! Great video man. Next do the Captain and the Chef! Or the Captain and the Doctor pls
Ussop basically unlocked his haki in fear of having his/their memory of Luffy completely erased due to Sugar, that speaks volume (and my god just the thought of it is really haunting).
Questioning Usopp's Intelligence? He's a genius. It's just with all the other geniuses on the crew (Robin, Nami, Frankie, Chopper), he doesn't come across as quite so brainy. He made Nami's weather wand, his own weaponry, and he's the quickest thinker on the crew. Who else would have come up with "There's a beautiful swordswoman with lots meat!" on Thriller Bark.
sanji is also a genius he always disappears and comes back eventually after and ends up saving the day like enies lobby when he messed up currents for buster call ships skypiea where he broke the engines in enels ship alabasta where he was mr prince probably some that i missed and in wano he's currently gone of somewhere
I truly regret that Usopp is not given enough credit about going against both Sugar and Trebol. Everybody seems to dismiss he actually forgot about Robin and many of the Tontatta, it's obvious he was extra scared with much of his resolution wiped out of his mind (especially the Robin related). That's why he didn't want Sugar to get to Luffy. He knows how much that relationship means for him: "I don't wanna be in a sea without you". That's where his determination to defeat Sugar a second time came from, that's what made him commit himself so much that his spirit and talent ended up in him developing observation haki on the spot. He grew up so much before our eyes during that arc and I feel dismissing that growth does a big disservice to him.

He's not afraid to show his fear and is not afraid to express his mind, the only difference between us and Usopp is he's a God and we're just merely trash.
Dont forget the whole Sugar situation, when Viola told Luffy that Usop was there, Luffy didnt doubt Usopp for one second and told them that he will take care of it and turn the toys back to the human form.

Few youtubers get Usopp right, he was never not brave. Usopp was willing to stand up to the Black Cat Pirates alone if he had to in order to save his village. Luffy isn't a fair standard to use to judge Usopp's bravery. Also, Usopp is very intelligent for a pirate. From melting Mr. 3 wax structure, to making Nami a weapon that saves her life against Miss Doublefinger, repairing severe damages to Going Merry and keeping it seaworthy despite not having any prior training or experience...
I don't know why but I think your videos has subtle calm in them doesn't matter whatever topic you are discussing I feel contented after watching your videos.
Great writing. Your videos make One Piece experience even better than it already is. The very fact that this video did not mention events like Usopp taking down sugar and activating Observation Haki to shoulder his captain's faith on him as a sniper just proves how well crafted character Usopp is. Great work Liam! :)
Give a mask to someone and he will show you his true face. Ussop didn't diguise himself as Sniperking, he WAS Sniperking. For a moment at Enies Lobby, Ussop became what he wanted to be, a brave warrior of the sea.
Usopp is my favorite character outside of luffy, ever since he was introduced he just kinda reminded me of how I would act in these situations and made me feel like I could accomplish things I never even thought possible so I just love him as a character and think he has the most growth out of any character in the entire series
Honestly when watching One Piece I've always seen Luffy as being endlessly growing bravery, while Usopp shows himself to be continuously growing in courage. Through the rest of the Straw Hats' actions Usopp learns in each arc to go beyond his fears, which is something I always found admiring about his character.
The fight at water 7 was amazing, usopp proved his metal against a Luffy that wasn't holding back. Then upon leaving and finding out Robin needed rescuing but unable to face his friend he donned a perfect disguise and fought as equals against CP9, to then be back on the crew was a tumultuous emotional ride that proved to Luffy that usopp never abandons his nakama...which is luffys third motto after "I'm monkey D Luffy and I'm gonna be the pirate king" and "Sanji!!!Meat!!!".
Usopp's progression for me will show most once we get to Elbaph. We've already seen brave moments from Usopp. But I believe Elbaph is where he himself will understand how far he has come when it comes to his dream. And I can see Usopp realizing it over potentially saving Luffy. Great video.
I really like your analysis; it is very informative and not like most people who call their analysis "objective" when most of what they say is their opinion and not actually objective at all.
surprised you didnt mention the moment on dressrosa when usopp sniped sugar to save luffy and law, while thinking to himself "i dont care about the sea without you"
Usopp and Luffy click on a lot of levels, not the least of which is the knowledge that treasure does not have to possess monetary value to be precious. In my thinking, our favorite Pinocchio sniper went through the most growth in the 2Y time skip in both physical and tactical capabilities; Franky and Robin had their own stellar achievements in these fields too (including a skin whitening for Robin I've never quite gotten over), but for all the members of the crew without Devil Fruit powers (all the East Blue members actually), Usopp saw the most change in personal drive and determination to not run away from battle, even if he still shines in distance combat and telling tall tales. In the Straw Hat "family", Usopp and Luffy are the "easily excited and ever curious brothers", with Usopp being slightly older since his birthday is 4/1 and Luffy's is 5/6. And when Chopper came into the mix, they got a "highly advanced for his age, but still a kid at heart" little brother with a Christmas Eve birthday.
I wouldn't say that Luffy is the only source of Usopp's bravery. Rather, protecting the wellbeing and honor of others in general calls on Usopp to overcome his fear. He already exhibited this on Syrup village, where Luffy couldn't possibly have had enough time to influence Usopp. Also, Luffy has been shown to feel fear once in the series: when Kuma was making our crew dissapear. Remember? It's a pretty important moment...
3:12 his defeat on Sabaody and post-marineford I think are the only times I can recall him being truly broken. The fear, sorrow, and anger as he watched all his friends get disappeared by Kuma just like that.
Fantastic video. Thinking back on Usopp pulling Luffy through the brink during his fight with Lucci, and having your context for why Usopp's impossible faith was soooo important in that moment gave me goosebumps and got my eyes wet. You, know... as the bonds between characters in One Piece tend to do to ya! X
Another example that hits home for me is when Luffy is battling Don Kreig, its basically Luffy vs the entire opposing crew, and they part ways, their first real adventure, and they both trust each other to accomplish their goals
I think Luffy wanted Usopp on his crew when he realised how far Usopp is willing to go to protect the ones he cares about. Yes he lies and is weak but is also handy, fun to be around and can learn to overcame his weakness. I think Luffy saw in Usopp the childlike imagination he once had, you know before Sabo apparently died, Shanks lost his arm because of him and gave him an important strawhat and etc
Hey man. I just wanna say I really like your channel. Its like a short pod cast every episode. Plus there is something about your voice that is different. I listen to you while I play games, or while I try and sleep. I just wanna thank you for getting me through with your channel and help me ignore everything else going on in the world. :) smiley face for you (:
You also can't play down what happened in Stampede, though it wasn't particularly canon, Usopp trusted that Luffy would deal enough damage to Bullet that his pop greens would activate. After seeing them activate, Luffy just smiled at the fact that Usopp dealt a major blow to such a strong opponent and i think it speaks volumes for their relationship in a fight.
Luffy let Usopp back on his crew after Enies Lobby when Usopp promised to subscribe to GLR, giving him unlimited supply of regular One Piece content.

actually luffy and usopp both had an immunity to random girls powerful ability witch are boa hancock chwaaan's mero mero mero that can turn anyone to a stone witch didn't effect luffy cuz he have a pure heart, and perona swaaaaan's horrow horrow no mi's negative horrow that can depress anyone witch didn't effect usopp cuz he is always negative.
Usopp wasn’t on Enies Lobby or the sea train, that was Sogeking

Does anyone get the impression that Luffy kinda looks like a girl in this shot?
Now that they experienced a lot hardships together, their friendship is stronger than ever.
Speaking of cheese, I wonder if something as cheesy as this will allow me to be pinned by the GrandLineReview?
Good luck me lad
i wish you luck :)
follow your dreams, I believe that it's possible!
Lmao
Naaah
Usopp underestimates himself alot by running away before actually trying
Few youtubers get Usopp right, he was never not brave. Usopp was willing to stand up to the Black Cat Pirates alone if he had to in order to save his village. Luffy isn't a fair standard to use to judge Usopp's bravery. Also, Usopp is very intelligent for a pirate. From melting Mr. 3 wax structure, to making Nami a weapon that saves her life against Miss Doublefinger, repairing severe damages to Going Merry and keeping it seaworthy despite not having any prior training or experience...
I don't know why but I think your videos has subtle calm in them doesn't matter whatever topic you are discussing
I feel contented after watching your videos.
Great writing. Your videos make One Piece experience even better than it already is.
The very fact that this video did not mention events like Usopp taking down sugar and activating Observation Haki to shoulder his captain's faith on him as a sniper just proves how well crafted character Usopp is.
Great work Liam! :)
The word you are looking for is fearless, instead of bravery.
next we are getting "The Captain and The Chef" or something like it
Give a mask to someone and he will show you his true face.
Ussop didn't diguise himself as Sniperking, he WAS Sniperking. For a moment at Enies Lobby, Ussop became what he wanted to be, a brave warrior of the sea.
0:11 I was expecting you to say _cheese and crackers_
When are we going to see the video of the ultimate bond in one piece. The bounty hunter and the bounty hunter; Bros Yosaku and Johnny
loving these captain and *insert crew member here, dissections.
I cannot wait for you to examine Luffy and Brook! I feel like their relationship is the most underrated!
This series should have a playlist.
Usopp's progression for me will show most once we get to Elbaph. We've already seen brave moments from Usopp. But I believe Elbaph is where he himself will understand how far he has come when it comes to his dream. And I can see Usopp realizing it over potentially saving Luffy. Great video.
I really love your videos.
Keep up the good work.
We need Strawhats to be stress tested more. But I am also ok with them as active participants/driving force in other people’s character growth.
Man the GLR gets more and more creative with these subscription persuasions. It really made me accept the unlimited One Piece content.
They are such good friends because there freindship feels genuine
I really like your analysis; it is very informative and not like most people who call their analysis "objective" when most of what they say is their opinion and not actually objective at all.
Love those video man!!! can wait to see the rest off the crew relationship!!
surprised you didnt mention the moment on dressrosa when usopp sniped sugar to save luffy and law, while thinking to himself "i dont care about the sea without you"
The best friendship is my finger smashing the subscribe button which enables regular one piece content uploaded straight into my TH-cam feed
Thanks for outlining why Usopp is my favorite strawhat!
This was a truly beautiful video... Latom!
Big fan of this series of videos! Can’t wait for The Captain and the Archeologist
Another example that hits home for me is when Luffy is battling Don Kreig, its basically Luffy vs the entire opposing crew, and they part ways, their first real adventure, and they both trust each other to accomplish their goals
Man someone cutting onions. This video hit the spots
Like cheese and cheese better words have never been said.
Dragon and Yassop best dad's of all time.
not really, both abandoned their sons so...
I really really hope you are joking.
I agree best dads ever
Woosh
@@Justin-gr3rk if it was a joke, it was pretty meh.
Just a joke but “unfortunately my house was robbed the robber must have loved my things just like you and the subscribe button”
I've never been this early. Love you GLR!
Usopp came in clutch for Luffy in the One Piece Stampede movie too
The only time that Luffy was notably scared was when Kuma sent all his crew mates away.
Love how he creatively includes the subscribe button in every episode 😭
Another thing strengthening their bond is the Will of D...
Don't believe me?
*Monkey D. Luffy and Go D. Usopp.*
This video was outstanding. Thank you so very much, I enjoyed it thoroughly!
Watch as alot of the new videos have a subscribe button homage
You also can't play down what happened in Stampede, though it wasn't particularly canon, Usopp trusted that Luffy would deal enough damage to Bullet that his pop greens would activate. After seeing them activate, Luffy just smiled at the fact that Usopp dealt a major blow to such a strong opponent and i think it speaks volumes for their relationship in a fight.
Usopp gave nami her clima tact baton and all the various upgrades
