Mahalo for interviewing my husband! He’s a quiet guy, not like me, tita from Kona!!! 🤣 I even saw my grandchildren running around in the background! My husband grew up in Honouliuli and we were fortunate enough to rent there and all three sons grew up in old time Honouliuli with the Shokai Store to go to for old time snacks! Let me know if you ever need more info! 🤙🏼
Mahalo for reaching out to us when you heard us talking about Ewa Beach and Campbell HS! Turned into a great learning experience for us and our community here on the channel. Please tell Uncle Wayne, next $6.00 fries are on us 😬
Excellent video, show fun spots families can enjoy in the community. Love hearing about the old times. Learning and sharing the past is important in any community. It’s sad to see the past gone, but you need progression. Good video 🤙🏿👍🏿👍🏿
This video was AWESOME! You guys are both so fun to watch and so athletic, you killed it out there once again! Thanks for sharing, wow, it looked so challenging!
Cool video! I did a reverse Rick Kane...Born and raised in Ewa Beach. After my father retired, he decided to move to Florida. Kept surfing...Went pro. I lived in old Ewa Beach and at Iroqouis Point in the 60's and 70's. Surfed a load of spots...the known (Lots, Shark Country, Haubush, Tracks...to some lesser known spots such as a break in front of rocks past old Nimitz). It is crazy to see the "new Ewa". I knew like Ewa...Ewa Beach...Campbell Park...West Loch. Never imagine this. Well...one day I paddle back at Haubush for old times sake. Good fortune to you both!
Do yall ever think you'll make a personal youtube channel? I would definitely watch it. While the real estate information is helpful, you guys enjoy what you do and have a good time "exploring" through the real estate properties that it emits good energy all around for us viewers.
All that hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, the drone footage and the editing is always epic, then you have you and your team always giving good energy and keeping it real. Your passion shows and I’m truly amazed, I only have one kid and I don’t know how you guys do it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I watch you guys all the time! I’m not a local but my dream is to live there on Oahu one day! I was raised in Los Osos / Morro Bay, CA and still live locally in San Luis Obispo, CA (same area). It’s been taken over by newcomers recently and blown up! I can somewhat understand how the locals feel in Hawaii. I live in a tourist area. They take over and trash our beaches and have pushed us locals out with housing prices. We were raised to respect the beaches and the beautiful nature here but other new comers don’t respect it. It’s so hard and I miss how it used to be here. I’m ready to move on.
we were just exploring ewa and went to the lineup for lunch, it was great! I have a new appreciation for Ewa and would definitely consider it for when I retire in a few years
my mom lives hoakolei and she has been waiting for more than a decade for wai kai to open. All she ever wanted was to be able to walk somewhere for her morning coffee. and now she has it!! pretty soon they gon open up the road directly to the beach, so that is exciting! i know its controversial--but at least get stuff for do now in ewa beach! lol..
I enjoyed watching you guys having fun! Now I wanna visit that area, I live here in Makiki and through your videos I learn so much. No one does it like you guys! The way you talk about the places and share insightful information is what sets you guys apart. I’ll keep saying you two are my favorite TH-camrs! Mahalo 🙏🏽🫶🏽🫰🏽
As a kid I grew up in the Apartments on the hill in Makakilo in the mid 90s. It was cool watching the place develop. Late 90s moved on to Hickam Housing. Early 2000s attended Radford. Then moved North Shore, graduated from Kahuku 🤙 lived Australia and New Zealand. Now currently raising a fam in Utah. Life has its challenges, but it's beautiful, and the people you meet are to.
Aloha gang! Hey, this may sound like a dumb question, but I just read an article that said seniors that own their homes in Hawaii pay zero property taxes. One of 13 states that were listed. And if so, at what age does Hawaii consider one a senior?
Aloha. That’s a good question and I’d like to see the article, but that isn’t true to my knowledge. If you go to our Live streams and go back to the one with Dr. Andria Tupola, she talks about this.
As a Waikiki hospitality worker, very curious to see what hotel/hotels open here. Depending on what hotel companies and what brand they choose for this area, I would consider looking for employment in the area and housing. Would never look in ewa beach if I were to work in Waikiki. The commute is a deal breaker.
Probably. But variety in many accentuates the uniqueness of few so…. 🤷♂️ Keep your eyes on the horizon for more content like this to make it to TH-cam 🤙
There is no need to divide the content for another channel when it is all related to "moving to Hawaii." You would have to make a lot of videos more consistently for that to be worth it.
aloha - you mention "Marina" - the Wai Kai Lagoon will never be a Marina. That is a 20-year old concept that was scuttled long ago. It is a watermans lifestyle recreational resort complex. Great insights otherwise of the stoke factory!
What's the whole point in standing in place going nowhere? I don't get it. It doesn't look like fun to me. I seek more like wave pools created by swells.
I appreciate your comment. I guess the conversation has to be X vs Y X = how much do we actually make or get people to move here who otherwise wouldn’t… Vs Y = relocation is a part of the economy and real estate industry either way and we affect it in a negligible way. Traditionally the real estate teams that participate in this niche have not been comprised of locals. Would you rather local families represent and indoctrinate aloha while earning, or not? I hear you though kanaka. ♥️🤙🏽
@@movingtohawaii Am sure you are aware of local generational families are priced out and have to move. No more transplants. Lets keep what we have and the culture. That's what I meant. 10-15 years ago I said Hawai'i is no longer the place I grew up in. No beach access, no hunting access, no nothing access. Now generational families are being pushed out . I welcome tourist, not transplants
This kind of "entertainment" is what continues to go wrong for Hawai'i. I would urge you people who are encouraging others to "Move to Hawai'i" to be more pono and not commercial. Shame that you promote what is going wrong for Hawai'i. But you all are in real estate so you contribute as a matter of making money off of stolen land so,,,
I lived in Ewa Beach in the 70s when it was a real, badass sugar cane town where locals, haoles, PI's. Hodgies and Samoans all hated each other. It wasnt as dangerous as the west coast, but no picnic either.....All cane on the north side of Papipi Rd, clean, lush, well-kept neighborhoods between there and the ocean.....This area is now basically a slum.....No freaking beach parks, golf courses and condo developments as far as the eye can see. That would have been the cane, which smelled sooo good when they were burning.....we used to swim in the huge artesian outflows which ran down the wooden, above ground flumes into the fields. We picked magic shrooms on the way to surf the North Shore up in the highlands after an overnight rain. Campbell HS prom at the Iliki....walking the two blocks to Hau Bush DIRT rd, with trash and mattresses and a pungent aroma of abandoned trash.....down past Sand Tracks to surf the Cove, and firing up a doobie for the occasion. Good and bad, I wouldnt trade those days for anything....THAT was the real Ewa Beach. What you have now is a joke of an overdeveloped, overpriced ruined part of Oahu never to be seen or experienced again....Ya'll can have it - knock yourselves out!!

Ahh Kealakekua Bay my favorite place in Hawaii, spent every summer as a grade schooler in Honaunau

The grandkids would love that!
Seen allot changes I grew up Ewa bèach in the late 70's it's not like the old Ewa beach I've known i missed that place
I love the instructors laugh when you eat it! Real life!
Jason keeps it real!

Yup, Uncle Wayne said it best - “as long as they take care da Aina”
Wow!! nice work guys!!
Mahalo
What an awesome video, especially when Uncle came in and gave his first-hand account of back in the day. Had me LOL’ing at “Ewa-ryday get airplanes”
Ewa-ryday!! Classic. Mahalo for watching
Great video nice to see a beginner experience on the wave
Looking forward to seeing more Ewa presentations. So much extra interesting information, for instance Ilima Intermediate used to be the high school.
I know! We didn’t even know that
Another great video. Nice ending 'Wave Pools Are Not A Crime' hat lol I'm hanging around for the comments :)
Same! This is such a decisive point. After being there, I feel more haters will get converted to lovers

I bet Aunty is stoked! This place definitely offers SO much more lifestyle options.
Great impromptu interview with the cool grandpa! And that surfing looked so much fun.

We are interested in hoakalei unless we could do Kailua. The option to walk to the beach is key. The amenities you show do make it more interesting.
And this is just the start! You see how much more is planned in the aerial shots. Wai Kai is just the first stage.
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sup Tiffany, u gonna give wave riding a chance?
Would it be possible to do a piece on Waimanalo?
Rad! Looks like Hella fun. Those wave pools are hard to keep standing up in. Easier to body surf.
I really hope this area and the space between Haubush and White Plains doesn't get turned into Waikiki.

Derek all talk about his surfing, he Cannot surf at all😅
There's a wave pool....in HAWAII? uhhhh okay. That's like using virtual reality goggles to look at mountains when you live in Colorado lol
