The quick suck in of the beer gut during the draw is a game changer for me. Such a simple concept that I for some reason never thought of.

Maybe not have a beer gut to suck in. That's a problem that should be addressed before worrying about appendix carry

I'm 73 yrs old and a Nam Vet, most days I can still draw and put a round in the box at 7 yards in .97 .98. In stead of giving up dry fire 3 times a week. Mozambique drill is one of the best drill.

One thing i notice a lot of people do is train concealment carry from a shooting position. Remember guys, you are never in a shooting position in real life, and conceal carry (if the times comes) you will not be in a shooting position, with the perfect body alignment and foot position. Train your hand being on different positions, your body, your foot... You might have something in your hand prior, you might be leaning on a counter at a store, sitting down on a chair and many others scenarios. Also, implement movement.

You’re in a shooting position because you’ve already been made aware of pre-attack indicators and being prepared. In real life, nobody just runs up on you to gun you down. It’s more likely that they want your material items, not your life, so it isn’t worth the risk of drawing from the drop for especially in a non ideal position.

I think one reason I like appendix carry is the possibility to get to my gun with both hands especially in a clinch scenario. That being said that advantage is somehow evened out when you carry a knife that you can get to with your weak hand. I think you should simply be able to apply a lot of damage with both hands.

Love the content guys, for context as a 120 guy carrying a G19 appendix (for most occasions) 13 years everyday everywhere. Anyone can conceal a firearm without you having a clue no matter what their build is it just takes practice and attention. Practicing with the clothes you wear is so important. I'm a skinny guy not very muscular but I've always wore looser clothes. I'm someone who likes to wear alot of layers even in the summer I have a shirt and a under shirt. But it definitely took me awhile to get comfortable with clearing two shirts and a hoodie in the winter time. I just practiced at home with a laser trainer. By no means am I a expert but I'm definitely more comfortable than a few years ago and have a method to my draw that's repeatable.

17+ years carrying professionally. I agree carrying in different places depending on your attire and what you’re doing. When I carried undercover it was usually at the 3 o’clock position. Normally I carry appendix and it works for me. Definitely like to see more on this topic, cause I can always learn more and get better. 🤙

Finally having a gnarly metabolism has a pro outside of not gaining weight. As for the step by step crisp explanation of creating a better style of understanding as opposed to a better style of shooting I am really digging the more in depth of why you put your hand here with a breathe here & a quick inhale of the gut for smoother response all the while no leaning. Solid. I do, however, miss the slap opening. 🤘🇺🇲 Cheers & Thanks Gents!

Honestly, if I notice someone carry open or concealed, I look at the whole package. If they look like a ne'er-do-well gang banger who just swam the Rio Grand, then yeah, I'm gonna be keeping my eyes on that guy. If the dude is wearing a T shirt with old glory on it, I'm going to feel MUCH more comfortable around that person. I don't worry too much about printing.

I’m 6ft 240 with weight around the midsection. I prefer the 3 o’clock for a few reasons. 1. It’s easier to get a good grip based off my body composition. 2. If things are hands on I can use my body and left hand to give me space to draw. 3. It’s most comfortable to me in all scenarios. Sitting down to drive or eat I can carry at the 3 comfortably. With proper training and repetition you don’t lose a significant amount of speed vs appendix.

I think"CC"for civilians... It anyone.. Is actually a bear idea. Because you will be the love"good guy’ in a life death situation. Hate the odds.
Butt it one industry on CC.. Dress m"dress for the occasion".... Not what feels comfortable e.g. Favorite t shirt ... Can't print at all.... Once they spot out pistil.. GAVE OVER

Saying “working from concealment” and then not defeating the garment is wild.

You did not listen apparently. He is talking about starting to get comfortable from drawing from a particular location where you will conceal. Step 3 in the process is learni g to defeat a garment.

< Law Enforcement Instructor. My Blanket Statement- Appendix carry is dumb. Strong side carry is best. #1. We all carry strong side on our battle/duty belts...why change it for ccw? Why retrain muscle memory of the draw? Most instructors drill in consistency with everything....yet its ok to break for ccw? Makes no sense. Appendix carry offers nothing over strong side.

Good points made. I have both family and a couple friends that are military vets and police officers they all seem to like appendix when off duty. One of them is a Police firearms instructor. But I can see your points. I believe both Uncle Freedom and Tactical Considerations which are both LE carry appendix while off duty as well.
I as a regular citizen will run appendix. I can conceal a larger gun than a g17 no problem.

@@andershilmo1866 I probably sound a little anal lol. Truth is that almost none of us will hopefully never have to use our ccw weapon....so carry however is most comfortable. The important thing is to just carry, and train how you carry.

@@KCWeapon No worries sir. I have my own pet peeves. I notice that a bunch of people. Train from owb strong side at the range and in class. Then edc apendix or carry 4 or 5 o’clock or worse a bag. I just don’t get it. Why would you spend all the time and money to train how you are not going to carry. If anything happens it will most likely happen for us civilians while we are concealed carrying. Seems like many people while training just want to look/ be fast and of course owb is faster especially if you don’t practice from concealed. I alway train from concealed since that’s 99.999999999 % of my daily carry routine.
