As always, enjoyed this episode greatly. I set the dogs to barking when you said, "Unless it's got 2 batteries in it...", I LOL'd so loudly. Have a couple of questions, if I may? Two plants I would like to know the cultivar of, the pulmonaria that you showed several times and the tulipa with the red-striped variegation on the foliage? And I am wanting to know what you said about why we shouldn't only cut half the stems off of cornus in the spring? The wind took the words right out of your mouth and I couldn't catch what was said... I look forward to your future episodes! Thanks!
***** Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions, Malcolm! I get what you are saying about the cornus, but won't that also cause it to gain girth quicker? Our cornus has just about filled the spot we alloted for it, and if it gets any bigger, it will have to be moved. We keep a couple of roses, and don't have too many problems with them, just the Japanese beetles (saw the first one of the year yesterday) and Saw Fly - saw fly has been bad the last 2 years, but I am hesitant to spray for fear of hurting the good with the bad. So we just deal with them by hand picking, which helps, but not as much as I'd like. Thanks again and have a profitable rest of June!
Amazing seeing Thomas for the first time again. He was sooo young.
As an old school nurseryman myself I'm loving seeing growing done the old fashioned way. The nursery and the plants look just as they should in March.
