    3.06 Still is a relevant advert in 2021. I live in the western Highlands of Scotland due to the mountains getting a mobile signal is a hit or a miss. These boxes are well used in our village *I have 2 bars signal on my mobile right now, some times SOS. For the older folk it's a life line our box has paper, pen carpet and a stool in it. Our broadband is improving.

      Yeah it's a bit of a long game, collecting and categorising whatever ads I can find. It feels a bit weird too, as I'm compiling material I haven't created myself (the adverts) but there's still a lot of work involved in fixing them up and presenting them in compilations. Thanks for watching.

    We had that Sanyo VCR with the LCD remote. Can't recall the model number now but we were all very excited as it was our first one. My uncle was way more tech-savvy than my parents so he set it up, mid-1987 I think so we were quite late to the video revolution. IIRC the first thing recorded on it was a TOTP performance of China in your Hand by T'Pau! The long play 8 hour recording mode was awful, barely watchable by late 80s standards never mind today.
    Eta: I grew up in Kidderminster in the 80s and don't remember Stellavision... maybe it was short-lived or just before my time? We had the independent Goggle Box and then much later, Choices opened up in a former Lloyd's Bank branch, both on Station Hill.

    • @RetroSteveUK
      @RetroSteveUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I remember the awful long play mode on old VCRs. I didn't mind the picture so much, but the sound was terrible - a tinny and hissy mess. I only used it once, then never touched it again.
