As a single parent. I 100 percent agree with you. And trust me i never cave when i tell my daughter something. (single father) she knows i mean what i say. And at 10. How to C scale
    1) Find left-most key on a bit of keyboard with three white keys, each separated by two black keys, and surrounded by other white keys.
    2) Press that key.
    3) Press each white key, in order from left to right, until you reach another key in the same place in the same pattern.
    Done.

The plural for LEGO is not LEGOs, it's LEGO.

Plural = LEGO (or LEGO Bricks)
Thank you for everything you do.

Dude this genuinely aggravated me. If I said no like that, my mom would pick me up, but me in the shopping cart, and flip it. She’d never let me do that. What happened to gen Y to Z (I’m talking 1995-2001)? They’re all softies. Now, am I young? Yes. Will I be like them? Maybe. But who just does that? Don’t be a softie, but don’t just spank them. That’s parenting 101 and I know that already.

This shit is my mother. She always made her boyfriends the "bad guys" and let her brats do whatever, whining and making messes and screeching like mad while scrambling through the house as if it were a park.
Now, those kids are in their teens... Can't clean dishes by hand, can't sweep a floor, can't even cook EGGS without direct instruction to make sure they stay with the food being prep'd.
    .
As an infant one of them had a habit of biting into fruits, then leaving them to rot around the house...
*Now* that teen does the exaxt same thing... Cutting open fruits and forgetting them after wandering off to do something else; Eating from a plate and leaving it half-finished *in their own room.*
    .
The reason? Me and the oldest are older than the rest by several years. When we were growing up, we cleaned up after ourselves and even were made to do chores for our mother and the house regularly. Failure was not allowed and we were kept at it by the rule *"If it's not done right the first time, do it again until it is."*
I was literaly kept up till midnight as a child so I'd wash a fuckton of dishes. My mother was *STUBBORN.*
    ...
Thing is, after me and the oldest were in our teens and mother had *MORE* new kids, we were made secondary parents:
We cleaned up after them, changed diapers, made meals regularly, etc. When the younglings sobbed, they got what they wanted.
Mother had no energy or patience left... And expected *us* to parent her kids, yet she also provieed those same kids an easy denial of authority by caving to their every whiny whim.
Tried to point it out as an adult, every time she caves literally seconds after making ludicrous demands or watches her kids ignore *SIMPLE, EASY STANDARDS OF LIVING* requests... And without fail, she acts like a victim and gets defensive, scremming shit like *"How would YOU do it? How many kids have YOU had? How many years have you been a parent?"*
Of course, if I dare answer with any common-sense such as *"You asked them to clean their dish after the meal, watched them leave after said meal and then wordlessly took their dish to the sink to wash it yourself."* ... Or *"I literally changed your children's diapers, burped and bathed them, watched them while you were out, fed them and played with them for an entire decade and then some."* ...
    Instant angry crocadile tears.
This isn't new, either. These sorts of excuses are her default. Only within the last few years have I become this blunt... Because frankly, I'm fed up with how spoiled she's making them and how she yet has the audacity to then do a few chores here and there, complaining loudly, before then retiring to bed to watch Netflix for the next ten hours till she falls asleep.
Literally up for *half* the day, then *"she's tired"* and she tries to get me to bring her food and tea in bed and shit.
Leaves thing like garbage to the last minute, then tries to get me to lug it out in the dead of night... Request via texts, as usual.
"Can't do it *right now?* Then, just do it at like 6-7am..." And that is where the conversation ends, as she slams the receiver with a curt *"Good night."*
    .
The expectations of the younger siblings... Are insanely low, because they're *always* hoisted onto me or the next oldest.
I hate living with my mother and her kids for exactly this reason, but due to financial issues after a lay-off followed by Covid19 with uncanny timing such that I couldn't apply for the loan from the government... And the fact that the "booming job market" where she lives was *far less "booming"* than she'd advertised way back when she was convincing me to come here...
Needless to say, living with my mother isn't really much of a choice since prior to this I was making minimum wage with no benefits and expensive rent that didn't really allow me to save much of anything, even with the extra $75 or so from GMT every 3 months.

well, those kids shouldn't be in piano lessons, its obvious they dont want to learn, if you really want to you will try even without lessons every chance that you have, i wasnt lucky enought to have piano lesson and didnt have a competent music teacher (he was in the classroom for 10 to 15 minutes and the rest of the time he was smoking outside), but even now every chance i get to learn how to play any instrument i took it, i bought rocksmith to learn electric guitar and also i am going to use it with a bass when i can buy a bass, i got an electric keyboard so i can use synthesia or other apps to begin learning and convince my mother so she can finally parcially pay for a full electric piano (for space reasons and to continue using apps to learn), some kids know what they want, if those attitudes where one time only it is understandable (being tired) but if it is everytime or frequently then it is a waste of time. I remember crying one time when i was learning to ski, because the skies got stuck in the snow with my legs wide open, and thats it, when you want to learn you do it, after that as a teen i took a snowboard and learn by myself a little, i have one day of experience with it so i hope i can continue learning it.

The pattern I see with bad parenting styles is inconsistency. It's the parents' prerogative how to discipline their child (excluding abuse) as long as they are consistent with their actions. If a mother or father threatens their child, they better be able to follow through.

It could be a few reasons:
      1 is it's animation
2 is it could be a genetic throwback (hard to explain here so please look it up)
      3 is most likely a step-parent

Okay, but Bill Maher needs to learn the origin of the term "pussy-whipped." That's not really something that happens between parents and children on any planet I want to live on.
