- The 500 Abarth is a sports version of the popular Fiat 500. It was created by the famous Italian tuner Carlo Abarth and debuted in 2008. The car was designed to provide a sporty and exciting drive in a compact package.
The Fiat 500 Abarth is equipped with a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine that produces 160 HP and 230 Nm of torque. This allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 7 seconds and reach a top speed of around 210 km/h.
The 500 Abarth features a number of improvements over the standard version of the Fiat 500, including a sports exhaust system, stiffer suspension, bigger brakes and lowered ride height. The car also features a unique design with carbon fiber details, 17-inch light-alloy wheels and improved aerodynamics.
Inside, the 500 Abarth features sports seats with additional lateral support, a leather steering wheel with red stitching, aluminum pedals and a premium audio system.

As a Coupe 20vt+ owner I see the major flaw of the tiny 500 Abarth. Just like the gtv3.0 it screams for a front limited slip differential. Drove an autodelta gtv 3.5 and it was the same, one front wheel spining and screaming all the time and acceleration/turning speed is damned. God bless Fiat for producing the Couoe with a limited slip diff. It is night and day even with 300hp it has very good traction. Beyond this issue I love the 500 very much, it is a beautiful and very though little car.
Luckily Fiat has solved this problem. Unfortunately there have been many cases of this kind, causing damage both to the owner's wallet and, as far as the car is concerned. As far as I'm concerned, having driven it on the track, it's a really fun car.
