Baco é maravilhoso! Além de ser brasileiro, é nordestino. Esse filme diz muito sobre ser negro e periférico no Brasil. É intenso. Forte. É de fato como Exú, não tenho palavras, só dá pra sentir.

In 2018, Bluesman won the Cannes Lion over Beyonce and Jay-Z (he shared the prize with the spectacular Gambino's 'This is America) The irony is because this album contains a song where Baco says "Everything is as confusing as my erotic dreams with Beyonce / Excuse me, Jay Z, I wanted to be you / my life is so boring, I wanna be rich"
some things about this film: -It has excerpts from 3 songs of the album: Bluesman, Queima Minha Pele and Preto e Prata -the song Bluesman is in the whole film but divided -this film ran for the Entertainment Lions for Music podium and tied for first place with Childish Gambino's This is America there is a lot more to talk about him and this album but i don't have enough knowledge
Some fun facts: Baco made his way into national scene after a widely famous diss called Sulicidio, a song praising northeastern rap while roasting the Sao Paulo/Rio's rappers and their supremacy. Pretty much everything produced in Brazil after 2016 can be tracked back to Sulicidio. @@akramvibez Esu itself is by far the best one, this song is all about he transcending his mortal form to became a sort of god ("I feel the gods are scared of me, I'm half man, half god and both are scared of me" or "the pain fades out when we see gods envy the men / the world is a child of our imagination / are we all gods or their creation?"), Beyond that, in Imortais e Fatais, Baco's stream of consciousness goes from metaphysics to a more visceral, sexual thing ("[while] masturbating gorgeous women I preach 'love one another' ") wich became more clear in Te Amo Desgraça, his most known song and wich dictated his style in latter works, Bluesman included ("oral sex in my girl is my prayer" and my favorite line: "she lights a cigarrete, soaks us up in gasoline and asked 'am I your love or your Nero?") This album is sooo thoughtful and poetic, I think to truly appreciate it you must be provided accurate subtitles (the same for Djonga (his entire work is a very similar "the kid who wanna be god" way, but also Racionais and and other largely recommended rappers).
