I don't know how faithful it is to the geography of the place (first half is obviously identical and I like it too), but THIS Monaco is just magnificient. Perfect for today's F1 cars, and yet challenging for drivers. It reminds me of Long Beach but even better.

I have no way to go back and look at my play stats, but, I reckon I put about 50 hours into this track alone, it is just perfect. Long Beach + Monaco + a little bit of Brands Hatch = AMAZING.
ok so...they got saint devote, beau rivage, massenet right.. and dare i say even the casino (( even if the layout is from the opposite side of the roundoabout/fountain. Mirabeau Haute, Hotel Hairpin and Mirabeau Bas are non existant, and .. the.. rest is .. mirrored...
Just imagine a car catching air over that huge crest... absolut flyer Seems very cool, but there would be several fatalities after a race with that speed in such tight corners with no runnoff. But looks like fun for sure
@@jaromirr7720 The elevation changes, and lack of room to complete overtakes safely - there is a lot of fast, sweeping, flowing corners with not much room for error (literally walls around). It's an amazing track for hotlaps/time trial IMO, but imagine 20 of the world's best drivers trying to jockey for position in some of these sections (specifically sector 2 and then the beginning of sector 3)
the original isn't nearly as fast as this layout. There's a lot of tight corners and a chicane after the tunnel which would be the longest section of the track, that definitely mitigates some of the risk. That said, street tracks are always gonna be more dangerous.
Ive checked in google maps thoroughly, and after the F1 part (just before mirabeau) the track is completely faithful to real life, after that they used references and somehow followed the shape of some roads, but its completely impossible to have this layout in real life. Its a shame tho cause its a banger of a Layout
So it's not completely faithful to reallife, just use google street views to realise whats happening after the casino, or the way they connected road that doesnt connect or even ressemble their real life counterpart

In Shift 2 also there is a track similar to the layout of the real Circuit of Monaco, but with no chicanes and with two long parallel straights connected by a hairpin in the place of La Rascasse
Ah yes the Riviera Monte Grande. The track is wide and can fit up to three cars, the Sainte Devote corner is a straight uphill curve, the Casino Square parking chicane, no Swimming Pole Chicane, and extended La Rascasse through the port.
if it weren't for the insane logistics and setup time it takes to get a city layout ready, then yes, of course this would work. Many times they spoke about monaco having a "joker" lap with an additional part of the track to be mandatory used once per race, in order to facilitate overtaking, but this would be a go kart racetrack.
that downhill section on the backstraight is impossible, the first issue is its not even in Monaco, lol. The second issue is that the ground isnt like that, you'd have to completely redesign the landscape to make that work

Did you guys discover what a street circuit is for the first time or something? Every single one of them (those on the calendar and otherwise) has blind corners, both high and low speed.
@@sulphurous2656 every street circuits (and permanent circuits) on the calendar have run off areas at the end of high speed sections so that drivers don't crash into a concrete wall at 320+kph. Don't try to be the smart guy when you have no clue how actual F1 tracks are made
Can you make a Monaco track that will pass onto "Avenue de la quarantaine" until the end tunnel and back to the pit straight from the "Quai Antoine 1er". That will be great!

NFS Shift 2 has awesome street layouts, like Riviera variations, Miami Bayside Run and London Whitehall Drive (do a video at this last one if possible).😉 But very important to say that this is not a possible layout. Monaco streets aren't this large and this "backstraight" downhill and tunnel are fictional.
from a pure recreation perspective, the devs did a really good job making the track- there's just enough bits from the real world to go "hang on, isn't this monaco?" but also have it be a completely unique layout
And talking about this version of Monaco (Riviera), if they can bring the real life layout but extended, do you mind try it??? By extended i mean, instead of the La Rascasse harpin, it goes left onto a harpin and then come's to La Rascasse to finish the lap. Of course, ditching the swiming pool section witch is a pain in the ass and, it might be controversial, the nouvelle chicane and replace with a DRS section from the tunnel and the closest as a chicane it can be, that it doesn't need any braking, only full throttle on the DRS Zone until the braking zone to the swiming pool. Then the normal aproach to La Rascasse they can use it as a new entrance to the pits. Then the pit exit is a very disputable topic but i prefer it to return from the 2000s when they make a wall to divide in between the one who stays out and then who's exiting from the pits and make turn 1 a much easier turn
Man, doing this track on night while using Helmet Cam, is scary. Especially the downhill before the turn, have to turn pretty early, but not too much to clear the corner without going into the wall.
Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends was made by the same devs and it also includes this version. Funnily enough that game also has bog-standard Monaco but it's ridiculously wide and has an extra straight at the end lmao
i looked it up at maps and its not possible to do it like that i believe. the south part exists but there is no such corner on the east end and the back route doesnt exist that way either... What i suggest is that after Casino normally youd follow av des spelungues to mirabeau but instead you turn into av de la madone into av the grande bretagne wich leads us all the way to Bd du larvotto wich leads us torwards portier and the tunnel

The Cote d'Azur in Shift 2 Unleashed although geographically correct but to avoid the licensing issues with Monte Carlo, SMS made Monaco a fictional track by changing some track layouts and made it wider. Though in pCars the name is still fictional but almost as close as Monaco. I had a gameplay of that track in my channel. By the way that track is called the Riviera Casino.
Monaco is beautiful and incredibly challenging like it is. This circuit simply is something else. Furthermore Monaco is the only real slow circuit in F1, and a world championship should have a calendar as more various as possible.

There is a better technology that was showcased by Boosted Media channel where you take actual images of the real life location and is super imposed CGI but not in true 3D, it's 2D with an optical illusion of 3D. When you drive through the streets it looks 3D but if you slow down and stop, you can see how the backdrop layers are placed to create the illusion. This would be the most accurate and realistic representation of an alternative Monaco GP. This would probably be better for FormulaE to do something different and help boost the attraction of Monaco because for those of us who will never have the opportunity to visit, this would be a great virtual tour. There are a couple of 4K tours of Monaco but mainly around the obviously places...
The night setting made me feel it was a Monaco in Carmageddon or GTA: Vice City. It's a fun layout, but I miss the harbour stuff, and that would probably make it a no-go from the PoV of the race coordinators, as the harbour provides a lot of expensive mooring for rich race-goers.

Basically, input delay + ultra intense steering response. Neither makes the handling model more realistic nor makes it more fun
